I cannot stop listening to the Cloud Cult album. It has been on repeat for the last few days. For some reason, every time I ever saw somebody talking about Cloud Cult, I had them confused with some other band (I don't even know who) that I didn't like. So, I'm listening to them for the first time. Been listening to the new one and Advice From The Happy Hippopotamus. I guess The Meaning of 8 is next.

i love bands that have more than one member who takes the "lead singer" role from song to another (or at least bands that have more than one person in the band who is a good singer)

i'm really liking the new Juan Maclean single http://www.zshare.net/audio/8057684a1760bc/

it's from a mix, so the beginning is a little weird. this song is probably too gay for many here

also, props to vinylbandit for playing some Rentals at the jpot last night

Just made it through my second full listen to the Cloud Cult record and I really liked what I heard.

"No One Said It Would Be Easy" (1), "Everybody Here Is a Cloud" (2), "When Water Comes to Life" (4), and "Story of the Grandson of Jesus" (9), all really stood out on my initial listen.

I'm looking forward to listening to it some more.

I've yet to check out the Tapes n Tapes, but I think I'll put the Cloud Cult, Someone Still Loves You, Boris Yelstin and the new Elbow into my rotation for now.

i've been enjoying the latest American Music Club record, which is strange considering my only knowledge of their prior music came from the "No Alternative" compilation and i dont think i liked it

its a slow and depressing record, but i cant stop listening

^^ It is just OK, not as good as their older stuff. It is similar in a lot of ways to their last album, leaning heavily on the mathematical IDM side. I enjoy their ambient stuff more, but there are some good songs on the album.

^^ Definitely their older stuff as an introduction. All of their stuff for the past few years has been really experimental and hard to get into for casual listening.

For their downtempo/ambient side check out Amber from 1994

Autechre - Amber: http://www.discogs.com/release/2494
"Nine" http://youtube.com/watch?v=2ekN2_rDxCk

for their IDM side check out Tri Repetae from 1995

Autechre - Tri Repetae: http://www.discogs.com/release/2495
"Eutow" http://youtube.com/watch?v=coPcRW1Xm2g

""Hey Weezer punks,

We have one song left to mix and then it’s on to mastering. We should be all done very soon. Then we chill for a minute.

The album will be out in June so with any luck you will hear a new Weezer song on the radio soon. I think I know which song is the first single but I’m not sure so I can’t tell you. I’ll give you some hints, though. It’s one word, starts with a T, ends with an R and contains twelve letters. You should be able to figure it out because you’re smart li’l Weezer fans.

The album is meaty, crunchy and melodic like a good Weezer album should be.

Peace out,

Rivera""

According to the first crossword dictionary result on Google, the only possibilities are "Tranquilizer" and "Troublemaker"
