there is a guaranteed allotment for all the ACC games

supposedly with these early games . . . if there is enough demand, they increase the allotment to future games (they obviously can't increase the allotment past what is available if they have already sold some of the student tickets)

and you can't deny that it makes sense to sell at least some of the student tickets for these games. nothing close to the full allotment would get used, so why not fill up the arena more and get a little more money. A lot of the tickets they sell go to youth groups, church groups, etc and for next to nothing . . . maybe even free, not sure.

for the W&M game, it looked like the student sections were pretty much full but there were still a lot of seats left especially in the 300 lvl. So my guess would be that all the student tickets are gone.

my biggest complaint with the system for basketball . . . especially with these early games is that it should give out tickets in order from best to worst. That way it should be pretty easy to tell how much of it is just people not coming in.

I was in the first row of 112 tonight that you can sit in (row 5) and half of the row was empty for the first 10 min of game time. The 2 people with me didn't even have tickets for that row. Then the row behind me was completely empty. It seemed that the farther away from the court, the fuller it was.

For those of you who done fucked up, well I warned you in the first post and on nearly every page of this thread but I'll say it again.

anyone else getting completely harrassed by "security" before getting in the student line? At the New Orleans game (and at the W and M game) there has been a hard core pre-metal detector check of ID and ticket outside of the doors. At the New Orleans game I showed the guy my ID and ticket and started to walk inside and he started yelling at me to turn around. I did, and he made me show him everything again. I was using my girlfriend's ticket and my roommate was using mine; here's what transpired

him: "You don't look like Sandra" (all serious like he caught me in an elicit activity)
me: "I know..I'm using her ticket"
him: "UH....I don't think so!"
me (shocked): "What are you talking about? We are allowed to use other students tickets...it's a valid ticket"
him: (staring at me like he was debating whether or not he was going to ask me to relinquish the ticket) "Well...if Sandra shows up...she isn't getting in"
me: "Yeah...I understand how the system works"

I was just thinking the whole time... "Look man, you may think that being a middle aged "security guard" with a perfectly shaped Jim-Rome goatee and one tiny diamond earring means that you have to act like a douche....but you don't"

This whole student ticket system needs a revisit....especially the "not being able to get group seating in the on-demand period" part. Sure you can squeeze in next to your buddies unnoticed at times unless, of course, you're trying to get by the grey haired gestapo of section 126-129.

some of the staff there are idiots. I've noticed that the ones outside tend to look at the ticket and then the id and not even look at the person to see if it's their id. So maybe the dumbasses are under the impression that the id and ticket must match. Nothing they do surprises me though.

for the William and Mary game, I was a few minutes late since my lab didn't end until tip-off. So I show up like 10 minutes late and am going down into 127 and show my ticket to the concourse level attendant. Normally all they look at is the section and let you by, sometimes not even that. My ticket is folded so all that is visible is the ticket. The guy opens it all the way up and 5 min. carefully inspecting the front and back side of the paper. Then he's like "do you have a student ID?" and i've gotta dig it outta my wallet and he looks at that for another 5 minutes kinda giving me a strange look like it's not me since the picture is crappy.

That dumbass that is down on the floor in 126 and 127 is retarded. Everyone must hand them their ticket and he walks them to the section. And heaven forbid you have a group that has all the seats in a row and you aren't all sitting in the exact seat in the row that is on your ticket.

One time I saw one of the concourse people not let someone down the steps because their ticket was cut out; he said "it has to be a whole sheet of paper." Eventually the kid got a higher up who set the other guy straight.

And they are so selective in hassling the students. There is this one guy and his daughter who sat in the back row of the student section in section 104 for every game last year and they don't even have student tickets.

IMO, the only thing the attendants should be there for is if you need them. If you can't find your seat, or if someone is in your seat and it is crowded and you can't find another seat.

I can understand the people at the gate; however, they could still use some work.

How the hell did yall manage not to get a parking pass? They had passes left after distribution on Tuesday and they still had passes left wednesday afternoon like 15 minutes before the ticket office closed (and it seemed like they had a ton b/c they didn't even bother to see if I had a ticket or a student ID ).
