http://www.thezman.us/This guy is good, I run his storm theme most of the time. I have another one where it runs animation on the home screen but its very battery intensive.

what's up with AIM?
1/8/2009 11:02:14 PM
Anyone know why I get "Service Not Enabled" when trying to install and use Google Talk on att?
1/21/2009 11:34:07 AM
Sounds like a service book issue. Are you getting it down download, install or log in? If during log in have you done a battery pull after install?
1/21/2009 1:31:22 PM
I did the battery pull and everything appears installed correctly. I think it has something to do with att. Not sure. I couldn't find a good answer on the forums.
1/21/2009 3:05:49 PM
AT&T is known for its lack of service books for instant messengers, they only recently got AIM and ICQ...look up resending your service books. Are you using a curve?
1/21/2009 3:53:34 PM
Yes an 8310 Curve. I think I am just going to download and try this JiveTalk
1/21/2009 4:08:57 PM
jivetalk is a great alternative
1/21/2009 4:21:30 PM
Lapdragon, are you on a BES? I am on my bb, and my company's IT/BES policy blocks AOL and Yahoo im, but not Google Talk.
1/21/2009 9:25:53 PM
No I am not on BES. I just have a Blackberry with a unlimited data plan and it's basically an upgrade passed down to me from my wife who got an iPhone for xmas.I am really impressed with the Curve. It is a good size, not too big or small, is very functional and has awesome battery life. I just wish the one I have was a 3G with wifi.Other than that it's a great solid phone. Now if I can get instant messaging I will be set.
1/21/2009 11:17:23 PM
Anyone ever used this before?http://forums.crackberry.com/f35/crackutil-85617/I have an IT policy that is a bit restrictive - no IM, apps and so on.
1/22/2009 11:25:39 AM
I have no but I have talked to a few people who have, I assume you only want it to remove the IT policy?
1/22/2009 12:20:17 PM
Has anyone tried this palringo? Compared to beejive - jivetalk?
1/22/2009 12:53:45 PM
Did you have any luck looking up the service books? What OS are you running?

1/22/2009 5:21:13 PM
lol aren't you supposed to be the expert? If you've never cleared it since you got your phone you should clear it, it should clear up a good amount of free file.
1/22/2009 8:30:19 PM
yeah but i dont know all the keyboard shortcuts
1/22/2009 9:03:20 PM
I would be much happier with more free file, I can't wait for the 8930 to hit Sprint.
1/22/2009 9:23:06 PM
I am the 8830 with Verizon, and it randomly deletes emails and call logs. Any ways to make this stop? I deleted most of my apps. I deleted some of the standard apps that I don't use. Anyway to get html emails to show? And problems syncing with my mac. It never completes the sync. [Edited on January 23, 2009 at 2:43 AM. Reason : ..]

yes, IT Policy gets sent from BES..usually gets sent every 3 days (I think thats the default time) but you can manually send it from the BES any time
1/23/2009 10:00:47 AM
When's the second generation storm coming?
1/23/2009 10:17:04 AM
^^ so TreeTwista10 to answer my question - even if I remove the IT policy with that tool I will have it pushed again creating just a big circle of removing it and then BES adding it back again.
1/23/2009 11:11:19 AM
^^^^^^ You are running too low on free file and the phone is freeing up its own memory. What apps are you running(they may be taking up too much space) Do you have a micro SD card installed? How much free file is it showing you have? Let me know and I'll run through some tips to free up memory.HTML should be viewable if you are running 4.5, what OS do you have?^ Yes it should push the IT policy back on your phone
1/23/2009 11:32:46 AM
How come when i plug in my curve to my ps3 i cannot view the songs through the ps3 and play them? My gf has a sidekick and her songs are displayed just fine? We both have a sd card in each of the phones?
1/23/2009 4:42:51 PM
yes YOMAMA it would kind of be one big circleAny specific things you want to enable? Do you know your IT/BES admin? One thing you can do in BES is create different IT policies for different phones...I have a few on my BES, mainly for different carriers...Nextel Blackberries have explicit permission to walkie-talkie features for example, whereas other providers without walkie-talkie access don't need thatso if you know your BES admin you might be able to get him to make you a custom policy

I bought a SD card for mine phone today. It seems to help. However, I was told that the card is only for media items is that true? Also, any ideas about mac sync?

I am running OS 4.2 with a verizon 8830. Is 4.5 out for my phone?
1/23/2009 9:50:46 PM
Yes media items...no idea on the mac. I do believe 4.5 is official for verizon, and if nto the beta are no unstable.

2/1/2009 2:20:54 AM
Have you tried a batt pull? If so then I'd have to say maybe it's an issue with sprints early 4.3 they ran. While there is no official release of 4.5 on sprint would you consider upgrading to a beta version?
2/1/2009 2:16:46 PM
I don't know how to do jack with this phone. I just want to get slacker to work. So however and whatever I need to do let me know on here so I can do it. I pulled the battery where it was off. It still doesn't work.
