http://antiqueengagementrings.com/shopping/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=20those are all really awesome, i only looked throught the first three pages, but there were only 3 or 4 that i didn't like.i would show pics, but it wouldn't let me... meh..

I'm getting stressed out about all this. here's another picture of that ring you guys seemed to like the most from my earlier post:
7/7/2008 11:00:36 AM
I still like it. It seems like one of those rings that's just bursting with personality, simple and charming.
7/7/2008 1:28:12 PM
the only thing about getting a ring like that with designs and diamonds all the way around is that it cannot be resized. so if your lady gains or loses weight, fingers swell during pregnancy, etc the ring cannot be resized or repaired if it has to be cut off her finger.
7/7/2008 2:01:01 PM
my wedding ring is that way - in that it has a design going all the way around it so it can't be resized - we got it through fink's and i think it's something around $40 to have a brand new one cast in the new size if need bemost jewelers have a solution to that problem if you buy it in a b&m store - if buying online i do not recommend buying one with a design all the way around
7/7/2008 2:04:01 PM
Do oyu guys think that a wedding band would look good in addition to the ring above if the ring above is used as the engagement ring? I personally think that she should just have one ring but I think she wants the whole engagement ring and wedding ring thing.
7/7/2008 2:16:28 PM
i think a plain band would look pretty. or a band with diamonds. or is there a matching wedding band for that? like with a similar design (sans the diamonds maybe?)
7/7/2008 3:41:09 PM
Where would be a good local place to have a piece of custom jewelry made? I want to have one of my grandmother's old rings remade in real gold and amethysts, it was a cheap knockoff for like $20 when she got it. I'm hoping to have it done by mid August for her birthday. Any ideas on local shops that can do this sort of thing?
7/15/2008 11:42:54 AM
i want to get one but i'm poor.
7/15/2008 12:21:14 PM
WOW!! That's AMAZING!! I like these too:But would need more accent diamonds coming down the band.Similar to this one:And I totally agree with thumper. I don't like colored stones with diamonds for an engagement ring. It makes it look like a regular ol' ring, and not an engagement ring, imo.Thats pretty awesome too.[Edited on July 15, 2008 at 2:15 PM. Reason : ]

i like a classic but funky look which makes like no sense. but i don't like the really really modern rings. i like the classic setting but then maybe with a funky twist. tacori has some interesting designs BUT most of them are way way WAY too overdone (for me...like there's just too much going on). i like these:i'm definitely into the simpler art deco designs like simple design with a twist. i like simple but i want it to have a LITTLE personality/individualityi like a lot of the ones on here (mentioned previously): http://antiqueengagementrings.com/shopping/shopdisplayproducts.asp?id=20[Edited on July 16, 2008 at 12:59 AM. Reason : .]EDIT: but in the end since i'm finicky, i probably just want a really nice quality diamond in a solitaire setting. but maybe a "fancy" shape. because i'd probably get sick of something "funky" haha[Edited on July 16, 2008 at 1:01 AM. Can I come to the Cadwal/Tschudi wedding?
7/16/2008 12:59:39 AM
I've probably mentioned this before in this thread, and I know none of you care, but your perfect willingness to fund horrific crimes against humanity as well as foreign monopolies just so you can have a real diamond makes me disgusted with all of you.
7/16/2008 1:01:32 AM
i care. all i did was post pictures of rings. do i have one? no. will i get one? who knows. do i know what a blood diamond is? yes. do other people fund horrific crimes against humanity everyday? yes. what kind? oh clothing, shoes, almost everything. and there are other foreign monopolies. plus, there are even companies that continuously outsource U.S. jobs yet people still continue to fund those.everyone is doing their part, see. its just easy to throw out the whole diamond argument i suppose because diamonds are shiny and leo made a movie about it.but seriously...crimes against humanity are perpetuated by consumerism everyday in MANY different forms. unless we all start running around naked without possessions, what do you want to do? i mean, honestly. what do you want to do??
7/16/2008 1:15:15 AM
^^ ever heard of the kimberley process?
7/16/2008 1:29:21 AM
I'm just amazed that people are still spending that kind of money on something so unbelievably common. Diamonds aren't rare you can find them all over the fucking place. You just have to be sure to get there before Debeers locks them all up in one of their vaults.
7/16/2008 1:34:58 AM
^^i've heard of it but i mean i like the idea of conflict free diamonds, but i've heard that they're also like a mythical phenomena like...no diamond is 100% conflict free. just what i've HEARD when discussing it. also, what is the deal with canadian diamonds?? are they mined in canada?[Edited on July 16, 2008 at 1:37 AM. Reason : ^ fair enough. ]
7/16/2008 1:35:53 AM
Actually, only approx 3.7% of diamonds ARE conflict - and with a Kimberley process document, it follows them from rough to finished procuct. Vast majority of reputable dealers will only use stones who do not come from conflict sources. So, they really aren't as much like a mythical phenomena as many would like you to believe.

I really, really, really like this ring. I want it. Well, a replica khcadwal, I think you might find some rings on there to suit your taste.

7/16/2008 8:29:29 PM
This is the one I'm thinking for my girl. Any thoughts?
7/16/2008 11:15:23 PM
I think it's pretty... enough that it's unique & noticeable, but not so much that it's gawdy. It makes me to know yellow gold is no longer the trend.
7/16/2008 11:26:48 PM
im still getting a yellow gold one for my girl i kind of like the white gold ones but she really likes the gold ones a lot more. /shrug
7/16/2008 11:37:39 PM

^post something that you think is attractive^^It is Got it from the Fink's in CaryI gave the ring to my g/f (and now fiance) on Saturday night
7/20/2008 9:25:36 PM
i got a 2 carat garnet with 3 small diamonds around it- garnet has always been my favorite stone, and we have a fucking house to pay off. I did see an absolutely STUNNING ruby in baileys that really made me stop breathing- but I felt too guilty thinking about what all 4 grand would buy.
