please show me a single AD that bases his decision on what the typical fan has to say, or even gives fans a say in the matter. its not just a lee fowler thing.[Edited on November 30, 2006 at 1:59 PM. Reason : fg]

i don't think its so much that his decision is influenced by the fans (or isnt)i think it has to do with the impression he makes in seeing the fans as proletariats
11/30/2006 2:00:12 PM
can someone post any inside information about a total list of who exactly state is looking at and the status
11/30/2006 2:01:42 PM
^i can see that, but the again, what do you expect when you have thousands of people trying to tell you how to do you job.its not his job to make friends, and he sure as hell can't please everyone.[Edited on November 30, 2006 at 2:03 PM. Reason : df]

^^^^ it's not jsut a fan... it's lots of fanshe keeps fucking up and he keeps badmouthing a failry large segemtn of the fanbase and he's asking to be thrown out on his assI was Ma Fox was still here well the fans can love him or hate him, if he keeps botching shit he's gonna get fired[Edited on November 30, 2006 at 2:03 PM. I understand, but you have to address discontent at a certain level
11/30/2006 2:09:09 PM
Don't act like the Chancellor doesn't give a shit what the fans think. They are the biggest source of revenue for the athletics department. The fans have a pretty big say in the fate of the athletics director. To say otherwise would be naive.
11/30/2006 2:12:14 PM
theres a reason why this saying exists:"when you start listening to the fans, you end up sitting with them"think what you want.
11/30/2006 2:15:27 PM
so when people start booing him and telling him he needs to get out (while at games with important people around) you don't think that would matter?
11/30/2006 2:16:59 PM
i think that reflects poorly on the fans, not the AD.
11/30/2006 2:17:58 PM
it doesbut there will be a note on my next wolfpack club payment however

our stock is low I shoulda sold my LTRs 4 years ago, made a nice profit and purchased new seats elsewhere
11/30/2006 2:23:12 PM
anyways, back on topicI think I'm beginning to like the prospect of Johnson as our next coachI'm personally thinking we need an offensive mind this go around (but i guess thats the wholesale thought as well)
11/30/2006 2:26:29 PM
if fisher really does come with the auburn dc, whatever his name is, then that's got to be the best choice.
11/30/2006 2:33:25 PM
11/30/2006 2:39:55 PM
If it is true about Jimbo Fisher and the Aubrun DC then let's bypass a second humiliating coaching search and bring him in ASAP.
11/30/2006 2:40:12 PM
^agreed.

whatever, I'll be there one dayI mean, what is the hype about fisher everyone seems to be on the OMG HE CAN RECRUITso what, we've had a good recruiter for 7 years, look where that got us with wins and losses
11/30/2006 2:47:25 PM
LSU has also been putting points on the board as opposed to our offense
11/30/2006 2:51:15 PM

Chow and Cutliffe both said they havent been contacted by NCSU. Interesting article by Mandel http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/si_blogs/football/ncaa/2006/11/how-will-wolfpack-counter-tar-heels.htmlSays Lane Kiffin would be an interesting candidate.

About to talk about Cowher again on PTI during Sportscenter.
11/30/2006 6:03:05 PM
i was unaware B Davis has a superbowl ring ... when and where did he achieve that?
11/30/2006 6:10:00 PM
^Defensive Coordinator/Defensive line coach for the Cowboys!!!Coached under Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer.
11/30/2006 6:13:42 PM
^^^damn i missed it, what did they say about cowher??
11/30/2006 6:16:45 PM
^^^what is there to talk about? He has already said he isn't coming here.
11/30/2006 6:17:06 PM
They were commenting on Cowher...Wilbon said with a smile maybe not now, but you can tell that he is entertaining the idea. Tony said I could see him in the future going back to NCSU.[Edited on November 30, 2006 at 6:22 PM. Reason : could]

11/30/2006 7:24:36 PM
So far i believe that Lane Kiffin seems pretty interesting along with Jimbo Fisher Maybe its because our offensive schemes have been stagnant since PRiv. Both can recruit and be able to coach for an extended period as long as they have consistent success. Fisher has an edge if he is able to produce good coordinators to come come with him, but as for now it is all rumor. Kiffin is a proven top 25 recruiter and a good coach at 31.
11/30/2006 7:29:19 PM
^^nothing earth shattering
11/30/2006 7:30:07 PM
^^ I'd rather have Kiffin or Fisher over Cutliffe. Cutliffe was the HC at Ole Miss right? No thanks.
11/30/2006 8:27:11 PM
Contract is going to Paul Johnson first, then chow and the others. We want Paul Johnson. We need a good HEAD COACHnot another coordinator from somewhere
11/30/2006 8:36:09 PM
i wouldn't mind johnson, chow, or fischeri'd prefer fischer, johnson, then chowbut whatever...i wanna get this shit over with soon and hope fowler doesn't do anything stupid^fischer has lots of other advantages over johnson1) good recruiting line2) coaching at a top level program3) and the DC from Auburn[Edited on November 30, 2006 at 8:44 PM. Reason : more shit]
11/30/2006 8:42:21 PM
I would definitely be excited about getting Johnson, or Fischer... not sure about Chow, he's someone who's never seemed satisfied where he is, even if he did finally get the head coaching nod, i don't know if he'd still be satisfied...statement from the Wikipedia.com article on johnson (dunno if it's been posted here)
11/30/2006 10:17:51 PM
Why should I believe that fischer wouldnt get the same results that amato did[Edited on November 30, 2006 at 11:13 PM. Reason : sd]
11/30/2006 11:11:26 PM
Johnson will have Navy's best shot ever at beating Notre Dame next year - I think Johnson wants that shot to not only be one of the best coaches in Navy history, but go down as a god there.
11/30/2006 11:15:21 PM
^^ b/c fisher is an oc, not a linebacker coach, and offense wins in college football. but really, you could say 'how do i don't know cowher/chow/johnson won't have the same results as chuck?' and there'd be no definitive answer.
11/30/2006 11:17:12 PM
I haven't heard anyone mention solich. Dude has ohio in their first bowl game since the 60's. My dad went there so I kinda follow what they do and they've NEVER been any good. That's a BIG accomplishment. Also,he was a good coach at nebraska, he just couldn't live up to those insane expectations. Think he went like 9-2 the season he got fired?anyways, just wondering. he's a good coach and I bet he'd make the leap into a larger conference.
11/30/2006 11:32:10 PM
^ i think i just read on espn that solich was rumored to be one of the candiates for cinci. he comes with some baggage, too.[Edited on November 30, 2006 at 11:46 PM. Reason : talking about solich]
