that's my only beef with wxyci listen to all sorts of stuff...from rock to gamelan to jazz to golden age country to soul to cuban salsa to delta blues to classical chinese...i can deal with broad and overreaching genresand i can even handle ambient noise and experimental......but it gets to the point where the sheer noise and disharmony is so frequently inserted between song sets that it wrecks havoc on the pacing of my listening...i've tried to work it into my palate for 15 years now and i don't ever think it's gonna happen i can attest that i was at Bang on a Can All-Stars with Kyaw Kyaw Naing, Glenn Kotche and Lee Ranaldo at UNC this year...mostly to watch the season ticket holders' ears bleed and/or get up and walk out [Edited on June 13, 2008 at 6:12 PM. Reason : station clarification]
6/13/2008 6:09:13 PM
i'm lovin' the hate this guy is laying down for bedroom bands and pro tools"no one has told these people that they're bad...and someone telling you you're bad doesn't mean you're bad, but it does make you think about why that person doesn't like you" ]
6/13/2008 6:11:03 PM

6/13/2008 6:18:10 PM

One time, I hired a monkey to take notes for me in class. I would just sit back with my mind completely blank while the monkey scribbled on little pieces of paper. At the end of the week, the teacher said, "Class, I want you to write a paper using your notes." So I wrote a paper that said, "Hello! My name is Bingo! I like to climb on things! Can I have a banana? Eek, eek!" I got an F.
8/3/2008 7:36:32 PM
play the paper planes song!!

8/11/2008 3:54:22 PM

8/11/2008 4:16:50 PM
...and Carrot Rope is a totally underappreciated song
8/11/2008 4:32:15 PM
If WKNC wants to play a Pavement song twice in one afternoon, it should be "Texas Never Whispers."
8/11/2008 5:09:31 PM
the song selection this hour:now i know what music happens when people grow up listening to blink 182 and fall out boy and cite them as influences
