"To some of us the bball and fball games are more than just games. They're like an escape from the rigors of classes, and the rest that life brings with it. We go to the games and yell our heads off, and root with all of our hearts, all because every now and then the Pack brings us joy and pride. We run and jump around our living rooms like we've just won the lottery. We yell at the screen or at the ref while in the stands, even though we know that they can't really hear us. Some of us are even moved to tears, or get a little choked up. We begin to lose faith though when things start to turn for the worst, and when all of it seems all too familiar, and the odds are stacked against us, and we seem certain to lose, a great thing happens. Our prayers are finally answered. It's like Jesus made an appearance on the side of a building, or some other type of miracle occurs, and our faith is restored. Times like these are why we stick with our team no matter what. Why you root so hard, because it's so much sweeter when you've waited for something that is so improbable and unexpected. This is the life of a Pack fan."some of you might remember me writing that after the win against GT in Atlanta last year. that game was definitely one of the highlights of the year last season, and these words ring true for most of us. i know later that night i saw people with this in their profile, and as away messages. i remember seeing that one guy posted it on Toney Baker's facebook wall. hopefully the 2006-2007 season will be a little different this time around and be a catalyst to future success. the 2006 spring sports teams did quite well. it'd be nice to see this type of success for our fall/winter teams.

Also we should dedicate this day, (#50) to the 2006 NFL 4th round draft pick Stephen Tulloch. man i wish he stayed, b/c i would have felt better about our LB's, but i guess he made the right choice. Reminded me of Dantonio "Thunder Dan" Burnette. Both were called undersized, but could tattoo opposing players with a rocking hit any day of the week. They proved that the little guy could play with the big boys too. To quote Stephen Tulloch, "Size is just something for people to talk about."
7/14/2006 6:03:58 AM
Tulloch is also a very nice guy.

new pics of the Redzone. they've installed all of the seat supports/arm rests. looks great so far.
7/17/2006 1:20:58 AM
^ nice! post of the week
7/17/2006 1:47:00 AM
yeah i saw it on PP earlier and was gonna post it, but i had to head out. when i came back i finally got around to posting it. i wonder when the permanent bleachers will be put in. if you look behind the scoreboard supports you can see the new entrance that's being built. it will look like the West stands entrance that was redone when the Vaughn Towers were built. if you've never seen it, it looks like a design inspired by the roof structures of the Vaughn Towers and the Murphy Center. i saw it about a week ago. should look really nice. now if they can just redo the East side entrance and concourse to match the other sides, the stadium will look "complete". look for them to do that next year or so. also if you haven't noticed the East and West stands have been undergoing $2.5 million worth of work to repair and clean them up over the past two off-seasons. mainly preventative maintenance and spruce them up a little.
7/17/2006 1:56:27 AM
