^yep i know, i hope we can beat them again.

The polls are all about what have you done for me lately. I've never seen any compelling evidence that the pollsters factor in head-to-head records against similarly ranked teams, so I'm not sure why this is surprising.

no, i agree with you since florida and pitt and some other teams also lostglad to see GW move up though...every time they dont lose it makes us look good
2/20/2006 2:14:17 PM
Boston College still ranked ahead of us. I'll never get it.We beat them by20Points
2/20/2006 3:12:44 PM
ok so someone might think I'm retarded. Boston College is on a 5 game winning streak. I think these 5 wins deserve #1 in the country. So obvious. 02/04 at Va Tech W 74-73 02/08 at W Forest W 72-66 02/11 Clemson W 67-61 02/13 Stony Brook W 59-47 02/16 Miami W 65-54

How does Texas stayed ranked so high, is it how they lose? They win 7 and get blown out. They are a really wierd team, I can see them going down second round or making it to the final 4.

I'm shocked that we weren't penalized more for our performance this week. I figured 2 losses would have to equal more than 5 spots in the polls. Then again, we probably only "lost" 1-2 slots for the BC loss, considering they were ranked higher than us and it took 2 OTs. I figured we'd be down to 21-23.
2/27/2006 1:36:34 PM
i thought we'd fall out of AP poll, and unc would be top 10
2/27/2006 1:40:25 PM
^basicallyi'm not too down...though the coaches poll positions seem more realistic to me than the ap polls
2/27/2006 2:02:13 PM
wow, that's surprising
2/27/2006 2:59:28 PM
GU
2/28/2006 12:49:09 AM
wow. that gwu win is looking better and better
2/28/2006 1:45:52 AM
^yeah the GW win looks great til they get to the NCAA tourny and bow out early
2/28/2006 10:36:41 AM
fine by me
2/28/2006 10:47:21 AM
We just need the GW win to look good until we're seeded. Then GW can lose their first-round game for all I care - we will have gotten what we needed out of it.

charlotte closes out its season at george washington - my brother goes to uncc and was saying that they were going to ruin our rpi by taking care of the colonials - my response washaGW is at st bonaventure and then at home against the niners to close out the year before the a10 tourney, in which they 'should' roll
2/28/2006 11:01:34 AM
isn't the AP one done by a bunch of journalists?no wonder its fucking retarded
2/28/2006 11:01:47 AM
what exactly does that mean
2/28/2006 11:10:25 AM
id trust the journalists over the coaches. the coaches dont watch nearly as many games
2/28/2006 11:41:18 AM
Mistrust the ESPN/Coaches polls. Some of the stories I've heard about the "coaches" voting....
2/28/2006 11:43:37 AM
^ In other words Calipari has 3 cronies that keep voting him #1.There is absolutely no reason they should steal any #1 votes from Duke or UConn.. that is absurd..
2/28/2006 11:48:00 AM
2/28/2006 12:21:52 PM
i thought rankings were supposed to be "what have you done for me lately"?not "what will you do for me the next time you play nc state?"
2/28/2006 12:23:34 PM
is it not some of both
2/28/2006 1:02:10 PM
wonder if we'll even be ranked.
3/6/2006 11:52:36 AM
maybe in coachesdef not in ap
3/6/2006 12:05:34 PM
AP prolly #25 Coaches #23 - Just because NCAA is down as a whole and the other teams getting votes aren't good enough to get in.

sure am glad i bet my buddy that UNC would never crack the top 10 ( - $ )
3/6/2006 2:01:18 PM
^notice what i bolded, they got a damn first place vote
3/6/2006 2:02:27 PM
so unc has looked good. but i find it funny that they got a first place vote and some of the others in the top 10 did not. texas looked damn good playing oklahoma yesterday.
3/6/2006 2:03:03 PM
yeah...dont give GW or Villanova a #1 vote...give a team that just cracked the top 10 for the first time all season a #1 vote

^ In that AP article, it points out that Connecticut got 70 of 71 first-place votes in that poll, with Duke getting the other first place vote.Does anybody know if Roy Williams has a vote in the coaches poll? That's the only way I can think of that Carolina would suddenly get a 1st place vote in that poll.Edit: Did some research. The only member of the ACC with a vote in the coaches poll is Gary Williams.http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/mensbasketball/usatpoll.htm[Edited on March 6, 2006 at 5:25 PM. Reason : research]

Dick Vitale could of voted for them. God knows once he gets done sucking Coach K's dick he jumps over to Roy's without pause.
