He wouldn't be a free agent until 3 more full years after 2006. He would be arbitration eligible but that is not guaranteed $$$ and would be far less the first 2 years then the contract will give him - $6M...)
8/4/2006 1:02:58 PM
fucking christreyes grand slam, 7 run inning vs. philsthe mets are ridiculousi didn't believe in them for most of the seasonbut congrats you fuckers, you're gonna win it all if your pitching stays healthy
8/6/2006 9:18:14 PM
I got home from the beach about 15 minutes ago and it was 0-0.. It's been nice so far...So Reyes, Wright, AND Beltran are all locked up longterm now.. I love it..
8/6/2006 9:19:16 PM
this deserves a BTTT just for the hard work of omar minaya locking up the cornerstones of our franchise for the next several years
8/6/2006 11:33:36 PM
Paul Lo Duca... oopshttp://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/foul_bawl_from_met_lo_ducas_sexy_wife_regionalnews_cary_cardwell_in_san_antonio_and_larry_celona_in_new_york.htm[Edited on August 7, 2006 at 3:15 PM. Reason : x]

^ Why the fuck did they make that link 500 words long.
8/7/2006 3:26:57 PM
Hey NyM410 - what are you hearing about a possible trade for Shawn Green? I heard on the radio that the D-Backs are trying to get him to waive his no trade clause so they can deal him to the Mets?
8/14/2006 2:25:51 PM
i say this not as a mets-bashing braves fan, but as a pure, unbiased, objective observerthe mets will not reach the NLCS
8/16/2006 10:26:57 PM
Why? Because of 3 games in August with a ridiculous lead. Are you saying the Reds/Cards will beat them in the NLDS? I don't think so. Mets are going to the World Series...
8/16/2006 10:28:11 PM
on the back of steve trachsel!
8/17/2006 11:27:01 AM
The Mets pitching is still very suspect, but that lineup is so deep that I don't really see any other NL team being able to stop it. They'll need Pedro at his best to win it all, but anything short of a WS appearance should be considered a disappointment IMO.
8/17/2006 12:00:58 PM
^agreed
8/17/2006 1:42:43 PM
I think they'll go all the way to the WS, but don't think they have a chance of beating whatever AL team they'd face.
8/17/2006 1:44:23 PM

8/19/2006 7:15:33 PM
Ha.. I read that..What a night at Shea though.** Oh and Oliver Perez is tearing it up. 6 IP, 1 ER last game. 7.2 IP, 1H, 0 ER tonight..[Edited on August 19, 2006 at 10:27 PM. Reason : x]
8/19/2006 10:18:21 PM
^ i like perez's upside and would love to see him in the big, moreso than williams anywayoverall, i'm really impressed with maine and trashbag...he's kinda held the fort down at his slot in the rotation
8/20/2006 10:57:17 AM
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2555246glavine may be done for the season
8/20/2006 11:36:47 AM
Horrible news. This REALLY HURTS the postseason chances A LOT. A freak type thing too..
8/20/2006 12:52:16 PM
8/20/2006 1:42:26 PM
Glavine might not be out for the year they're saying. We'll find out tomorrow.Even without him they should win the NL. The lineup is head and shoulders ahead anything else in the NL and the bullpen is the best in baseball.. They can pick up the starters if need be..Awesome game today from El Duque (even stole third base!)
8/20/2006 3:51:01 PM
i have always been optimistic about the metseven when i knew they didnt have a chance at making the playoffs in aprilbut if glavine happens to be done...that NLDS is gonna look like pedro, maine, el duque and that makes me nervous
8/21/2006 2:29:37 PM
I hope Glavine is okay because he's one of my favorite athletes and I'd like to see him win another ring to further solidify his place in Cooperstown. The Mets have had some shitty luck recently with Sanchez going down in a taxi accident and now this freak crap with Glavine. Hopefully Tom will be alright though...
8/21/2006 11:33:48 PM
Glavine is fine. He'll be pitching again next week..
8/22/2006 12:05:10 PM
BELTRAN!!!Oh and Minaya is the best GM in the game. Got Green for next to nothing and Oliver Perez has been NASTY in AAA recently[Edited on August 22, 2006 at 10:18 PM. Reason : .xx]
8/22/2006 9:49:59 PM
last night had to be one of the best nights a Mets fan could ask for in a long time and ^ i'd agree with minaya, the man is pure genius
8/23/2006 3:21:12 PM
i guess youve been a real mets fan ever since, well this season
8/23/2006 6:56:23 PM
i guess you've been a real douchebag since...well, your entire TWW existance now
8/23/2006 6:57:42 PM
aww, this n00b thinks he can play the gamebless his heart
8/23/2006 6:59:04 PM
Seriously man.. even the hardcore Braves fans stopped trolling in June..and if I remember, the dude has posted about the Mets since '04.. if you didn't know we only had like 70 wins that year...[Edited on August 23, 2006 at 7:01 PM. Reason : x]
8/23/2006 7:00:24 PM
you had to edit man, youve already lost
8/23/2006 7:03:30 PM
I'll take losing at the Internet if my team is nearly 20 games up on yours there...[Edited on August 23, 2006 at 7:04 PM. Reason : hey look.. i edit nearly all my posts.. you win]
8/23/2006 7:04:17 PM
when you win the WS, then you win
8/23/2006 7:05:07 PM
Yeah! Home early from work for the game for once..
8/24/2006 7:08:09 PM
The Mets are so much better then the rest of the NL that it's just plain sick.. if they don't make the World Series this season is a total bust..
8/25/2006 1:14:54 AM
Oh god no... Beltran hurt after a GREAT play to probably save the game.
9/2/2006 9:49:36 PM
Magic Number2
9/13/2006 10:46:52 PM
the Marlins were definitely giving that game away, they had about 3 chances to get Reyes out with 2 down in the 11th...but a W is a W either way
9/13/2006 10:55:41 PM
Home for the last 6 outs!
9/18/2006 9:18:13 PM
Congrats. I was born in NY and played for the "Mets" as a little leaguer. They are a good lock for the pennant.
9/19/2006 1:08:53 AM
gg to the Mets and Omar Minaya. Braves will be back on top next year though
9/19/2006 11:42:55 AM
Nice time to play the worst ball of the year guys.
9/27/2006 8:09:51 PM
yeah, me and my friend had a bet on who would finish with the better record, the mets or the A's...Mets were a lock two weeks ago, now we're only up by 2 games, I think i am going to owe him money
9/27/2006 9:06:39 PM
pedro out for entire postseason
9/28/2006 9:17:21 PM
yikes..........
9/28/2006 9:20:05 PM
ouch . . . that really sucks for the Mets
9/28/2006 10:09:40 PM
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH that is fantastic! GO BRAVES!
9/29/2006 8:39:56 AM
The Mets should still waltz to the World Series on the backs of the lineup, but their pitching leaves much to be desired. Better hope Glavine/El Duque find their postseason magic. Trachsel for World Series MVP!!!
9/29/2006 8:46:36 AM
I don't know, if the stros make it... I'd hate to face oswalt, pettite, and clemens. I'm pulling for the stros this year even though they upset the braves in the 18th last year
9/29/2006 9:23:03 AM
The Mets can't beat the Astros in a 5 gamer but they can and will in a 7 gamer. Since there is no way, with the Phils loss last night, that they will face the Astros in the NLDS they are fine.Of course the Mets have killed the Astros all year long anyway even with their 'great pitching.' Oswalt is intimidated by the Mets and most unusually by Cliff Floyd.[Edited on September 29, 2006 at 11:20 AM. Reason : though I still think the Cards will win the Central for some reason..]
9/29/2006 11:20:22 AM
Pedro Martinez is out for 8 months. He pitched last game with a strained right calf, a torn left calf, and what turned it to be a partially torn rotator cuff.
