anyone gamefly a decent bit of 360 games? hows the availability and speed. i figure its the same as buying between 4-10 (if you sell some of um back) per year, but not sure if i want to.
7/30/2006 1:02:59 PM
Just curious, how fast do you guys finish entire games once you rent them?I still haven't been able to complete any game I bought on launch, and I figure if I rent them, I'd be losing more money than actually buying them.
7/30/2006 3:01:13 PM
oblivion - lasted me a few weeks to get all the acheivements and dick around somePD0 - few days to beat but i dont have many acheivement pointsDOA4 - unlocked all the chars in a couple days, unlocked most outfits in a few moreFight Night - all acheivements in about 1-1.5 weeks of casual playid imagine games like condemned/kameo/etc only take a week max to beat if you play with any sort of regularity. thats why i didnt do gamefly at launch; i didnt play much and there were only so many games i could see playing for a long period of time.

fifa world cup 06playin that with 4 heads is a good timeyou can pull off some ill ass goals, too
8/2/2006 9:44:07 AM
^great game...the world cup game is way better than the road to world cup game they put out...spent alot of time playing fifa but ncaa consumes us now...
8/2/2006 10:50:07 AM
I think Cyrion either plays at min difficulty, or his definition of 'casual play' is a bit different then mine.Or he's just that much better at video games then me (obviously this is unacceptable)
8/2/2006 10:58:49 AM
i def dont play at max difficulty, but yes im a video game dork so my casual play is probably more than others.
8/2/2006 1:22:36 PM
so table tennis comes highly recommended from those of you who have it on here? $35 used doesnt sound so bad...the demo is pretty fun.
8/2/2006 9:36:58 PM

8/3/2006 10:41:14 AM
less than a week until Dead Rising!get your pre-order now, stores will likely not have excess of this title/you can get a t-shirt with it!
8/3/2006 10:53:07 AM
i have a feeling it wont be as popular as we might think.
8/3/2006 11:17:18 AM
Pre ordering a game is retarded.I've gotten every single game I've ever set out to get.
8/3/2006 11:41:18 AM
ud be surprised hwo hard it is to get a game of madden if u dont
8/3/2006 11:50:26 AM
not like it costs you more. if you know you are gonna get it and dont want the fuss, it aint gonna hurt. this is assuming there is a definate release date.
8/3/2006 11:52:11 AM
EB Games where I usually get stuff still has an assload of NCAA 2007 gamesMadden might sell out but other than Madden and Grand Theft 4 nothing else should sell outPlus you can cop those shits on ebay or wherever else
8/3/2006 11:54:31 AM
Yea.I mean if you absolutely must have something then whatever but I've never been in that situation.
8/3/2006 3:01:59 PM

8/4/2006 9:26:41 AM
the gameplay footage has been kinda meh, but the concepts and porting that ever popular mall-zombie madness just sounds like immense fun.

NBA Live 07 looks like it's gonna be a whole lot better than last year's weaknesshttp://blogs.ign.com/NBALive_07/[Edited on August 4, 2006 at 11:15 AM. Reason : read the link]
8/4/2006 11:14:56 AM
Wow. That looks really good. Except for the shorts. Then again I never watch the NBA. Are they making the shorts out of some sort of highly reflective material nowadays?[Edited on August 4, 2006 at 11:18 AM. Reason : -thread broken formatting]

8/6/2006 11:20:47 AM
ah come onthat game is awesomeyou could get more than that by trading it in at Gamestop or EBGames
8/6/2006 5:25:38 PM
8/6/2006 5:37:46 PM
Gamestop is awesome you are crazy[Edited on August 6, 2006 at 5:40 PM. Reason : try getting game recommendations from people at best buy... you are better off talking to ur asshole]
8/6/2006 5:40:04 PM
Who said anything about getting recommendations? That's why I a)read ign, joystiq, and other gaming websites and b) read/post on here.I stand firmly by my opinion that BB and CC are still 10 x better places to buy games from. Especially if you're talking about a new release.
8/6/2006 6:11:50 PM
do they do trade in credits?do they give 10 % off used games?do they even sell used games?does best buy offer special coupons for Game Informer members to receive offers on new and used games?do they have coupon email promotions for gamers who simply just buy games from their store and register their email?
8/6/2006 6:20:32 PM
8/6/2006 6:25:43 PM
as far as used games, ebay has always been good to me as long as you can wait for it to be shipped and arrive...but i dont see why you wouldnt rather just put $5 down at eb for a game knowing that youll be getting it and its reserved for you...the $5 goes towards the game so i dont see why its not a good idea?
8/6/2006 7:07:53 PM
oh god damn, I am not even gonna bother contesting that
8/6/2006 8:08:43 PM
That's probably a good thing. I don't really see where anything I've said can even be contested.I know that you probably like your job cause it's cool and you get to swim around in video games all day, but if you take off the EB/Gamestop binders for just one minute you might be surprised what things look like from the outside.I've taken shitloads of Xbox and Ps2 games to sell at EB and I haven't even been offered 10% of what they're truly worth. and yes I have the gay little trade in card. I have literally been offered a quarter for a game that I have seen sitting on the shelf for sale for $25. I was offered a total of $17 for a lot of games that I ended up selling to the jews of TWW classifieds for $65. And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they don't have a right to try and make money, but the simple fact is that these places offer you pennies for games and turn around and sell them for 2000-10000% markup. If that's what you want to do with your old games then by all means it's your right as a consumer to do so. But is that the best thing to do? Hell no. As far as buying new games, you yourself said that on a release day it is next to impossible to pick up a copy of a game unless you have preordered. If you listen to the managers and workers of these stores they will have you believing that you must pre-order in order to get a copy of the game, and that simply is not the case. Do me a favor. At any time next Tuesday go to any local Best Buy or Circuit City and try to buy a copy of Dead Rising. I will bet you money that you will be able to do so. Now try the same at an EB and see what happens. Maybe you will be lucky and get there right after the UPS truck drops off the shipment and you'll be one of the 3 people that can get a copy that day, but if you're not lucky...well Best Buy is always right around the corner.I didn't intend for this to become a bashing on EB/gamestop. However I can't stand the propaganda bull shit that gets forced down my throat every time I set foot in there that I have to pre-order or there's no way I'll get the game during the first week it comes out. I can't stop them from spreading their lies in their own stores, but by God I will most certainly call them out here./rant
8/6/2006 9:41:57 PM
ive gotten some good trade in values, but only on the really popular ones (KOTOR, viewtiful joe, and the like). at the time the trade in value with the deals going on were pretty good for my ps2 and it was a matter of convenience. i coulda kept about 8 of the 18 games i traded in that day and only lost out on about 10 bucks of credit, but i was just lazy and no one was gonna buy madden 2k4 or sega gt 2k2.so i agree that 90% of the time it isnt worth it, but sometimes you're too lazy to care.[Edited on August 6, 2006 at 9:55 PM. Reason : when they do have those additional credit trades they're much more fair. i wouldnt go without um]
8/6/2006 9:54:14 PM
I sold KOTOR to someone on TWW for $42. I sold The Wind Waker to the guy standing in line behind me at EB because he heard them offer me $25 for it and he was going to pay $45 for his copy. We ended up settling on $35 and we both made $10 on the deal.Even when you are selling a "new" game back to them and you think you're getting a lot of money, you can still get more (while saving the new buyer some $$$) by using TWW/craigslist/ebay.
8/6/2006 9:59:08 PM
well KOTOR had been out for a LONG time and they gave me 25. number 2 came out shortly after. it wasnt so bad factoring in the extra 5 or whatever from the deal too. im sure i coulda gotten more, but there is a price to your time and effort (i dont deal with the filth that reside in the classifieds generally).
8/6/2006 10:17:12 PM
Every game at Best Buy is available $5 below the retail price, even on release day. Just need the Gamer Gift Card. I always buy from BB unless someone is just running a crazy sale.
8/7/2006 12:25:19 AM
whats the gamer gift card?
8/7/2006 12:26:10 AM
I think it's a gift card that comes with a $5 off video game purchase coupon
