Man, its only been a year since they changed up the x-titles rosters. They need to make up their minds. On a separate note, can anyone explain this to me?: Im pretty sure its just Bendis but, what the fuck is up with him always saying "The hell is going on?" or crap like that? Am I wrong that its normally "What the hell...?" Its a little thing but it annoys me.I've asked before, but does anyone read Squadron Supreme? I still think its my favorite book.
7/13/2006 11:38:14 PM
i'm about to stop buying againi want something to the level of "new frontiers" or at least someone pretending to draw golden age stuffi mean i'm gonna finish out alex ross' "justice"but jesusi don't care about your x men...you haven't done shit to change civil rights since the 70s
7/13/2006 11:57:51 PM
^^ Squadron Supreme is one of my favorites.

You should start buying The Escapists, Mark. It's a limited series from Dark Horse that continues The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Klay. The first issue came out Wednesday with a cover price of $1.00. It will be a monthly title running for six issues.http://www.steverolston.com/escapists/

I finally got to read the latest trade of Fables. Total letdown You know when there are filler comics between arcs in a series? Well this one felt like a trade of filler.
7/14/2006 9:58:13 AM
Aw, don't feel too bad. Many trades these days are full of filler material! Publishers, recognizing the greater value of today's reprint market, pressure editors to generate collectible "runs" in their series, which leads to editors pressuring writers to "write for the trade." That's where all this "decompressed storytelling" shit comes from.
7/14/2006 10:04:09 AM
You're not helping me out here. [Edited on July 14, 2006 at 10:12 AM. Reason : Now I have to wait 6 more fucking months.]
7/14/2006 10:11:46 AM
I'd like to see a widespread return of the single-issue story, myself. Did you read this month's Detective? It was fucking beautiful. In the past, stories between more collectible arcs in which important events happened would often be collected with other issues from separate series and stuff to lend context to a larger arc wherein crossover occurred. Going back to single-issue stories as the rule instead of the exception wouldn't necessarily cheat us out of following significant events through reprints.
7/14/2006 10:16:11 AM
i'd be happy if they went back to having the story only be told in one book instead of across a dozen fucking titles

7/28/2006 9:46:02 PM
cerebral hobbies has a few comic books. one seemed interesting to me. i just bought the venom sage spiderman cartoon (with the techno intro) and it introduced several spiderman characters that i didn't know well or had forgot about. i got it because i liked the spiderman movies and the cartoon when i was younger... i i've heard the 3rd movie will have venom (although i've avoided learning much about it). the comic had several of those characters, so i'm thinking of buying it or waiting for the graphic novel. anyways i say all this because cerebral hobbies in chapel hill is closing after the 30th and just increased its discount.http://cerebralhobbies.com/

7/31/2006 11:40:55 PM
Whatever happened to spawn that was an awesome t.v show, so what about the comics?
8/1/2006 1:05:19 AM
Around issue 50 of Spawn, it became clear to me that McF had no plans to resolve a single storyline. So I dropped it. That was about 9 years ago, give or take. Apparantly, it's still on the shelves and does pretty well for Image. If that means it does better than Invincible, then that's criminal.
8/1/2006 9:50:35 AM
I collect everything... but the one thing I dont have many of is Comic Books... soI went and bought about 20 different ones (first issue of TMNT, some Xmen, spiderman, etc)I have been reading and enjoying them... if anyone has any they want to sell pm me please...I am looking for some very rare because not many people probably played with the toys, Bucky O'Hare comics, please let me know if you have any...
