Regarding Senator McCain's claim that Senator Obama's campaign contributions lack transparency, is there any evidence to back such assertions?
11/1/2008 3:31:50 PM
^ I don't think sohttp://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/summary.php?id=N00006424&cycle2=2008&goButt2.x=9&goButt2.y=6&goButt2=SubmitObama is at 90% full disclosure vs 87% for McCain

I was talking to Shrike about this earlier, but I really wish McCain could just lose already so that I don't have to have my football ruined by all these ads.

I just read all 88 pages of this thread, and I can now concur that regardless the outcome, we are fucked.

i tried listening to that, and had to shut it off after less than 2 minutes.all i can say is that's pretty fucked up.because it doesnt make Sarah Palin look stupid, it makes the people who did that look stupid, and it makes the people who approve of such shenanigans look stupid. and to some extent, it reflects badly on Obama supporters if only because we get lumped together with idiots who do this and who approve of this sort of thing.it actually makes me sympathize with Sarah Palin if anything.impersonating a foriegn head of state to perpetuate a hoax against a government official? IANAL, but i'll bet this is illegal, and i hope the guys who did it are prosecuted.

^^ okay. so you think its okay if a media outlet is run by a religious cult.that their "reporting" is totally unbiased and uninfluenced by the cult-leader-newspaper-owner.i guess "Final Call" is also a credible media resource for you too?

^^^ do we need to get into CNN with Ted Turner and the moonbat things he's been saying, too? Or, is it really OK to be paling around w/ terrorists like Bill Ayers? What about Reverend Wright? You can't have it both ways, buddy, and you know it.btw, who won the halloween mask competition?wow, I like Obama's slam on the Cheney endorsement as "proof" that McCain would continue the Bush policies. Hmmm, I'll bet we could find some terrorists somewhere that would "endorse" Obama. Does that mean Obama would advance policies of terrorists? seriously, it is a shame that our electorate has been so dumbed down by our vaunted educational system that they are swayed by such bullshit[Edited on November 2, 2008 at 12:02 AM. It's interesting to look at the breakdown of their poll numbers. Obama doesn't have the white vote, but the strong minority support makes up for it. He is basically winning because of minorities. Particularly women minorities, because the race would be tied without them.

11/2/2008 11:04:32 AM

wow, amazing. Obama's tax proposals just keep putting the upper class at a lower income range. First it was 250k, then it was 200k, then Biden says 150k. Now, Bill Richardson says 120k. Look out America, looks like Obama's first "change" will be in his campaign promises. Don't say I didn't tell you so
11/2/2008 3:09:16 PM
^how about you just don't say anything. you didn't vote.and honestly, this country is a trillion dollars in debt. everyone who pays taxes is going to have to feel a pinch. i don't think it's unreasonable for either candidate to win and say, "hey guys, we're going to work toward my initial tax plan within the next four years, but we have to roll up our sleeves together and get this country out of the gutter right now."v when you get cornered, you seem to rely on swearing and name calling. i thought i had a good point, but you've convinced me that i am a fucktard, so clearly i'm wrong.
11/2/2008 3:13:02 PM
how about you don't say anything because you are continuing to support a clearly broken system, you fucktard. I'm glad to see that logic has no sway upon youhaha, "we're gonna have to roll up our sleeves until i keep my promises." i tell you what. How about you and I enter into an agreement, say, you give me 100 bux and I'll wash your car. You then give me the 100 bux, but I tell you "oh, sorry, my dog died, I can't wash your car today. How about next year?" You would probably be pissed, wouldn't you? But wait, next year comes around, and I have another excuse. Then another, then another. Eventually, you realize that you got fucked.]

add this to the list of McCain supporters acting like jackasses at his rallieshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vagD-4AH4VcI will state again - when I went to the Obama speech last week, I was extremely pleased with how polite and docile the crowd was. When standing in line, there was a guy walking up and down the line with a "CHANGE? WAKE UP" poster with that picture of Obama in his Kenyan clothing. I didn't see a single person in line confront, yell at, or try to argue with him. Nearly everyone I saw looked at the sign, then went on with their normal conversations.

obama has been friends (publicly) with a man for over 20 years who said to reporters that the american patriotism after 9/11 was "sickening" .. but a few mccain supporters deep in the crowd heckle mccains speech and in fact make mccain look bad in turn for something out of his control ... obama had no control over his friends and his choice of friends right? no need to make him look bad .. but less than a half-dozen mccain supporters yell ignorant things about obama and mccain is portrayed as racist
11/2/2008 5:45:53 PM
How is McCain portrayed as racist?I understand if you're referring to biased "news" sites on the internet, or even to over-hyped mainstream media outlets... I don't watch either, I wouldn't know... but I don't think anyone on TSB (or at least anyone with a credible opinion on TSB) has tried to portray McCain as racist himself. After all, McCain did have to publicly denounce all the shameful shit once it got out of hand, and most everyone here recognized that.
11/2/2008 5:49:15 PM
i think there is an immediate association of what the people in the crowd are saying, to the person speaking to them ... regardless if its 1 person or 100but these videos were posted with one attempt, to show mccain supporters as racistand mind you, obamanites have heckled mccains crowds more than the opposite, but we dont hear them
11/2/2008 6:01:43 PM
^If McCain supporters are saying racist things, then obviously said supporters are racist and deserve to be portrayed as such.Of course, if people making these videos (I assume you mean YouTube and the like... it's certainly a sophisticated den of knowledge and polite behavior, the perfect place to get the news) are sweepingly referring to all McCain supporters as racist based on the actions of a select few racists... then they're just dicks... and as far as I know most rational people (specifically on TSB) would agree with me on that statement.
11/2/2008 6:06:03 PM
so the point of showing soundbites of 1 of the random 2 rallies with racist fucks in the crowd is what? its just an attempt to show mccain as a candidate that supports racism .. or else it would be a video of footage that shows him as a candidate expressing issues instead .. OR issues that the poster does not support
11/2/2008 6:12:16 PM
My point here is that there's no point at all in arguing over anything posted on YouTube and similar sites. The site is a haven for dumbfuckery, and no one with half a working brain is going to take anything posted there as credible or revolutionary or even mildly entertaining, in most cases. It's comparable to getting pissed at the supreme attitudes taken by white supremacists or the violent attitudes of muslim terrorists... they're fucking extremist, and YouTube is just the extreme of stupid. (The problem, of course, is that too many people in society actually IDENTIFY with this youtube extremism... but stupid will be stupid, and it lands on both sides of the political spectrum)[Edited on November 2, 2008 at 6:21 PM. Here comes the Wright ads in PA.McCain your campaign is a dirty piece of shit, you said you'd have nothing to do with this. And just because it went up through proxy of GOP party in Pennsylvania doesn't protect you from the charge.I've about had it with this shit, I hope he Rove and the rest of the GOP get blasted in 2 days. I can actually see their hand grasping in one last ditch effort at the controls of power in Washington
11/2/2008 6:28:12 PM
well its also on most of the news, all day and all night ... the only soundbite they play is that partand then discuss how this has no class, and mccain this and mccain that .. and its all a completely ridiculous associationesp when the footage of obama is godlike ... how is that comparable
11/2/2008 6:28:23 PM
TKE, Do you happen to recall just how much of Hillary Clinton's (metaphorical) cock the media was sucking on back in the primaries? And how much they took McCain's "He's the biggest celebrity in the world..." ad and just ate it the fuck up?The media is just about the only reason this election was so close for so long... they get more viewers when it's a tighter race, so they kept it close till they saw the opportunity to create an even bigger shitstorm over Palin's appointment and then the housing market collapse. The media is biased towards whatever gets them the most ratings. And right now, for everyone except Fox News, pro-Obama = good ratings. And for Fox News, being conservative = guaranteed built-in viewer base. And for shows like SNL... well, they seem to think inserting their opinions makes the humor better, but this is just another reason it's not as good as it used to be.To some degree, all this speaks to the fact that media producers are scumbags... but we knew that about them already. On the other hand, it also serves to re-iterate the fact that more people like Obama, and the media has followed them (not vice-versa).

This pic is bizarre
11/2/2008 7:18:00 PM
^McCain looks more like a porcelain Chia Pet than a black man. That might be part of the bizzare-ness. Also the fact that they gave Obama what is essentially the hair of John Edwards.
11/2/2008 7:25:11 PM
It looks like Obama will be spending tomorrow evening, election eve, in Charlotte NC.
11/2/2008 9:47:49 PM
11/2/2008 9:49:33 PM
^Obama was speaking about police, airport workers, and other civilians working for the government in the area of security. There is a vast difference between these professions and an average gun owner. With regards to the spirit of the second amendment, the former has weapons to work for the government. The latter has weapons (at least in theory) to act against the government in favor of the general populace if the need arises. Obviously a police vs gun-owner war is likely to never happen, but that was at least the spirit in which the founding fathers wrote the amendment.
