yeah i don't see any way jon snow dies at this point (not necessarily ever, just for the time being).

the only people in immediate peril that i can think of are:

ramsey, theon, stannis, roose, sansa, bronn, jaime, cersei, marjorie, loras, (perhaps tommen by extension), jorah, sam, gilly, jon snow and all the survivors from hardhome. already addressed jon snow though. anyone else?

i guess i could see a night's watch rebellion before jon snow gets back, where sam and/or gilly get it. seems like most of the remaining violent action will take place at winterfell.

The Dany stuff was eh cool, but the rest of that episode especially Stannis was horrible. I feel like they are more focused on shock value than anything else.

i was arguing the other way a few weeks back, but that kinda turned my stomach. a father sacrificing his daughter for power is pretty gross. who is a good guy on this show? Snow, Dany and some of her crew?

ive watched some really bleek, depressing shows in my day, but this show beats em all. i wouldnt be surprised if the series finale was ramsay bolton sitting on the throne after flaying tyrion, snow and danerys and having dragon for his coronation dinner.

that ending was semi worth it though

They're setting up for either confirmation of the red god's power, or a way for the power to fail and for Stannis to leave that cult. So far, we've seen that the red god can pretty much pave the way for Stannis as long as the sacrifices keep coming.

Stannis has always been in the murky middle until the last episode. Now he is clearly on the pure evil side, and I'm looking forward to him being burned at the stake. At this point, my bets are all on Dragon Mommy. It would be ridiculous for the entire series to end with yet another evil asshole on the throne. The series has to go somewhere.

Damn. Stannis is stone fucking cold. His title of "Stannis the Mannis" is now stripped.

I wouldn't put him on the same level of villainy as the Boltons though. Although it was way too much, Stannis still believes that he is ultimately saving the kingdom and that if everyone bands together under his rule, they will be able to stop all the nasty shit that is coming from north of the wall. It may be a crazy delusion of grandeur (and who knows, maybe it is actually true), but his intentions are good. The Boltons on the other hand (at least Ramsay) are just plain psychopaths.
