Collins and Murkowski I don't think are hard no's yet and I still don't believe Rand Paul...so I don't think we're out of the danger zone yet
9/22/2017 3:05:06 PM
Collins was always a no and Murkowski has literally zero incentive to do anything the GOP wants. She won her race as a goddamn write-in.

The bill was never a serious bill. Its one last chance for them to show their constituents that they did what they said they would do and they can scapegoat mccain and the usuals who don't have to worry about elections as the reason why it didn't work out. they never actually wanted to do anything.

It’s hard to reconcile Earls purported progressive views with his seeming joy at seeing people like Moore win. Like you realize that Moore is on record saying Keith Ellison shouldn’t hold a seat in Congress BECAUSE he is Muslim, right? He is about as anti-progressive as they are made in all aspects. Earl is a fraud who just wants to see the world burn.
9/27/2017 8:18:18 AM
Earl is a troll. He's always been a troll.
9/27/2017 9:53:06 AM
Conservative voters have no ethos, they’re not voting to reject the corporate establishment. They have just been voting for whoever’s saying the craziest things in Support of the status quo.
9/27/2017 9:54:42 AM
unbiased analysis =/= joyi guess you guys only appreciate democracy when your views are represented full disclosure i do like seeing the establishment lose tho. big money losing to grass roots is always a good thing. democracy reveals culture. me hating the culture of alabama is an irrelevent personal detail. [Edited on September 27, 2017 at 11:17 AM. Reason : im not gonna hate democracy juat because american people dont choose progressives]
9/27/2017 10:52:06 AM
Did someone question or belittle democracy in this thread?
9/27/2017 11:20:38 AM
Both candidates were terrible, but as much as I hate to admit it, Strange would have been the lesser of two evils because he wasn't as much of an outspoken homophobic, Islamaphobic, and psychotic extremist. He would have been a Trump "yes man", but that only works for so long in Trump's sphere of influence, since he will throw anyone under the bus whenever he can. Trump isn't even all that upset about the loss, so in the end, it doesn't look like this is as big of a blow to the GOP as some are claiming. The choices were between vomit and shit, so any 'victory' that's being claimed for eroding the Trump "establishment" (whatever the fuck that's even supposed to mean) will be short-lived, since it won't make a damn bit of difference in the grand scheme of things.[Edited on September 27, 2017 at 11:55 AM. Reason : can't type]
9/27/2017 11:49:55 AM
you belittled democracy by questioning my progressive authenticity because i "seemed happy" about democracy prevailing even though it led to a farther right candidate winning. its obvious you would much rather corporations choose politicians than have the people choose someone further away from your political views.

^^ nah, he's right. You don't give a shit about progress. You see politics as a zero sum game and you'll cheer for whatever side will make the world burn the hottest and fastest.

9/27/2017 1:18:30 PM
Moore's election is not a victory for democracy. This is a person who has claimed he will never compromise on anything. This is the attitude that has caused Congress to grind to a halt. The government only works when politicians actually want it to work.

9/27/2017 4:51:50 PM
Superpacs buying elections is not democracy. Anytime a grassrooots candidate wins over an establishment candidate with all the money behind him, its a victory for democracy. If a racist, homophobic population elects a racist homo0hobe, democracy is working. If you dont think a racist homophpbic population should be able to elect a candidate that shares that passion towards values they believe are non compromise issues, then you dont believe in democracy. and thats fine if you dont like democracy. im not saying democracy is perfect
9/27/2017 6:59:20 PM
A super PAC brought in Steve Bannon and Sarah Palin to campaign for Roy Moore. You’re just trolling now and I don’t feel like having to repeat yet again that I don’t think the process was flawed. You’re an obtuse moron if you can’t understand that.
9/27/2017 7:49:31 PM

9/28/2017 7:58:19 AM

9/28/2017 8:01:31 AM
You know exactly what is being argued because you made a weak point that directly countered my argument and after being refuted with facts are pretending to not understand what is being argued. I was clear here but you are uncomfortable because even though you claim to be against citizens united, you always find yourself on the side of big money. Here it is...

Can one of you republican cucks explain this for me (and no, this isn't satire, this is real life):LINDSEY GRAHAM ON OBAMACARE REPEAL: I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS DOINGhttps://theintercept.com/2017/09/27/lindsey-graham-on-obamacare-repeal-i-had-no-idea-what-i-was-doing/

9/28/2017 11:15:25 AM
when you troll too hard it's very obvious, you have to dial it back a bit
9/28/2017 11:30:06 AM
^^^and Lindsey Graham is by far one of the less batshit and more competent ones. But then you have all of these former GOP Dr.s too (Price, Cassidy, Paul, etc etc) who's ideas are either even more batshit right wing or they keep their mouths shut for fear of some one accusing them of sochulism.I think what we are seeing is the hollowing out of the conservative "ideas machine." The actual think-tank parts of Heritage, CATO, Mercatus, etc are shells of what they use to be. Instead emphasis has shifted to raising money, bomb throwing, and just openly lying about legislation. And a significant part of this country just eats up and demands more. Mind-boggling.[Edited on September 28, 2017 at 11:36 AM. Reason : I'm ready to fast forward a decade, the next few years are gonna be a shit show]

9/28/2017 12:22:36 PM
except you attacked me specificially by the name you always refer to me as and from the start, i was talking about money in politics, and this being a huge win against the pac money of the corporate establishment....not views.Defeating big money has to happen before progressive change can take place.

9/28/2017 12:49:23 PM

9/29/2017 8:19:02 AM
A lot of projecting going on by dtownral and others who frequently use the t-word. I post supporting facts, quotes and MSM articles too often to be trolling. My reputation of trolling was built around saying unpopular things that the herd disagreed with which all turned out to be correct years later. (Gottfried is a bad coach) If reading a different or new perspective on the internet upsets you so much, you must live life with a lot of rage and the internet is probably the wrong place for you.
