^^thanks for killing that page
5/31/2015 10:41:51 PM
THAT WAAAAASSSS AWWWWESOMMMEEProbably one of the best episodes of GOT.
5/31/2015 11:08:38 PM
Holy fuck that was awesome
5/31/2015 11:10:40 PM
I'm assuming we aren't supposed to know what was up with jon's new sword yet. Didn't look like dragonglass
6/1/2015 12:02:38 AM
I believe it was his Longclaw sword, which is made of Valyrian steel.
6/1/2015 12:27:22 AM
yea his sword is Valyrian steel (they pointed that in the 'last time on' segment at the beginning of the episode i think)also. holy shit.
6/1/2015 12:34:39 AM
Hmm I thought the sword he picked up had a plain hilt. I'll have to rewatch
6/1/2015 7:17:56 AM
I definitely wasn't his sword with the white wolf on the end. That episode was INCREDIBLE
6/1/2015 8:15:14 AM
Freaking amazing! As soon as you see her telling her kids to get on the boat you're like, 'ooohhhhhh shit, here it comes!'
6/1/2015 8:38:30 AM
I like how the "gathering of elders" was a bunch of 20 and 30 somethings. Speaks to how rough they have it.
6/1/2015 9:02:22 AM
6/1/2015 9:08:48 AM
wasn't valyrian steel crafted with magic before the doom of valyria wiped out magic? or some shit like that.
6/1/2015 9:24:21 AM
No, there was no magic involved when Ned Starks sword was melted down.Khaleesi and Tyrion are going to be a badass team.[Edited on June 1, 2015 at 10:19 AM. Reason : .]
6/1/2015 10:18:08 AM
Valyrian steel swords are very rare. They require magic to forge and there are only 1 or 2 smiths in kings landing that can craft it.
6/1/2015 10:22:18 AM
So are white walkers immune to dragon fire?Khaleesi is going to win the game of thrones, just wait and see.
6/1/2015 10:54:01 AM
^^^ that was reforging. When they actually created the steel in valeryia it's said that there was magic and dragon flame involved. Being able to simply reforge valeryian steel is incredibly difficult and the armorer they showed is supposed to be one of the only people in westeros that can do it.^^ none can craft it, all the valeryian steel in the world was created before the doom. There is one smith in Kings landing that can reforge it[Edited on June 1, 2015 at 11:41 AM. Reason : .]

I loved the "Oh Shit!" face that both Jon and the Other had when his sword blocked the ice sword thing without shattering. I was hoping Jon Snow would shout "VALYRIAN STEEL, MOTHERFUCKER!"But yeah, Ned's sword (Ice) was Valyrian steel -- Brienne's sword (Oathkeeper) is one of the swords that was forged from it, and Joffrey's sword (Lion's Claw I think?) was the other. I can't remember any other instances of Valyrian steel around.
6/1/2015 12:56:26 PM
Widow's wail. And there is also that dagger floating around I was a bit aggravated the Watch/Wildings teams didn't make more effort to use fire to fight the wights and that the Wildings seemed so shocked and unprepared by the attack. I mean these things were the whole reasin they all teamed up, and ygritte knew about fire hurting them way back in season 1 or 2.
6/1/2015 1:04:32 PM
Best part of the show]
6/1/2015 1:10:32 PM
Sam's dad has the tarly ancestral sword heartsbane which is valyrian steel, and a handful of other lesser houses also have valyrian swords. Then there are several that have been "lost" like the ancestral lannister sword and the targaryen swords. And from casting calls it looks like Sam's dad will have a role next season[Edited on June 1, 2015 at 1:29 PM. thanks for those spoilers.also where's BlackDog to comment on the "lack of battles" in GoT. [Edited on June 1, 2015 at 1:48 PM. Reason : .]

The dagger mentioned above is Littlefingers I believe
6/1/2015 2:31:39 PM
We've had this season's big battle. Now its time for the big death.
6/1/2015 3:37:24 PM
Possible deaths:Tommen, Cercei, Margerie, and her gay brother.Ser JorahSam Tarly and/or his wifey. Ramsey or Reek/Theon. [Edited on June 1, 2015 at 4:31 PM. Reason : we need a poll on the front page]
6/1/2015 4:29:59 PM
Oh Jorah's definitely dead, and Reek/Theon is a strong possibility as well. Really a great episode, must have made it easier to eat all the shit they were getting over the last few episodes knowing they had this in store.
6/1/2015 5:10:02 PM
Great episode, but I wish we had seen Cersei get beat more, lol. I still stand behind what I said about battles when compared to other HBO offerings. However yes in comparison to the rest of the "battles" in the series, that was an impressive one. Tyrion and Daenerys seems like a pretty stacked team.. Will all the families unite to battle the white walkers? I don't see how you can win against an army that kills your men and then raises them to fight you next time. The question is can only the walker generals (or whatever) raise the dead? If so that is the key to victory.Did anyone else feel like Snow got injured severely? Such as an injury we will hear more about next week? I think he is bleeding internally.
6/1/2015 5:17:06 PM
I don't think Jon Snow has any severe/lingering injuries.
6/1/2015 8:06:01 PM
I like how there was like a 2 minute staredown between Walker king and Snow, then he raised them all from the dead, and we zoomed out to Snow, and WHAT THE HELL YOU AREN'T EVEN ROWING, JESUS CHRIST CAN WE PICK UP THE PACE? IT'S BEEN 5 MINUTES AND WE ARE 20 FEET FROM THE DOCK!
6/2/2015 12:10:16 AM
^ hahaha, I need to go back and watch it, but I swear they cut it all fucked up there. Seems like they were getting a significant distance away and then, OH SHIT, we're still 15 ft from the fucking dock
6/2/2015 1:55:30 AM
^ That.I even made that same comment to my girlfriend.
6/2/2015 7:44:54 AM
Jorah is going to turn into another dragon
6/2/2015 8:34:39 AM
I mean, I think it was just supposed to add to the desperation of the scene. They just watched thousands of their dudes slaughtered in front them and then raised from the dead. Probably didn't feel like "rowing faster" was gonna change any outcomes.
6/2/2015 8:46:00 AM
sometimes those "previously on GoT" scenes are a little to heavy-handed. it wasn't necessary to remind us that jon has a valyrian sword. they could have explained that after the fact. but because of that clip, the entire episode i'm thinking, well his sword must have some pretty big significance. so by the time it got to the fight, the surprise was kinda ruined.
6/2/2015 10:23:51 AM
The big thing for me the last episode was Cersei in the dungeon being bribed by water...by a woman standing right in front of a grate that's dripping water down into Cersei's cell.
6/2/2015 10:48:21 AM
Meh, I'm ready to see the short haired sand snake again.
6/2/2015 11:01:42 AM
^^^I just fast-forward through the "previously on GoT" scenes so I don't get that anymore. Makes the episode much more enjoyable that way.
6/2/2015 11:06:49 AM
I thought it was already discussed in earlier episodes that Valyrian steel could defeat white walkers. I know that I at least knew that, not sure where I heard it from though.
6/2/2015 11:16:37 AM
I'm in the UK and don't have SKY, so I watch GoT on NowTV. NowTV doesn't do the previously on stuff.I have to say, this was one of the best episodes ever, not just for the amazing battle scene, but the dialogue between Tyrion and Dany, especially regarding Jorah was top notch.I'm going to watch again tonight.
6/2/2015 11:20:05 AM
Cough RED WEDDING Cough
6/2/2015 2:30:49 PM
^But was that great because it was just a great scene with great action/dialogue, or was it just purely the shock factor of it all?
6/2/2015 2:56:31 PM
6/2/2015 3:07:48 PM
Up until this point, no one knew that Valyrian steel would kill the walkers. Also, 2 thoughts1. Is it really that bad to be turned into a stone man? I assume Jorah will turn into a stone man. They are aggressive and immortal... what's the big deal?2. I think the little boy is going to kill Jon Snow. The little boy is ticked about his parents being slaughtered and doesn't like Jon working with them. He also gave a telling look when he heard the speech about "sometimes you have to do what is right even if others don't support you"
6/2/2015 3:07:53 PM
I thought they made several points about how grayscale should have and would have killed Stannis' daughter. Grayscale as far as I knew it was a terminal disease.
6/2/2015 3:16:06 PM
Yeah it kills you, it just drives you insane first.
6/2/2015 3:29:28 PM
i love this recap of the battle...http://io9.com/what-the-game-of-thrones-tv-show-is-doing-so-much-bette-1708510125
6/2/2015 4:58:00 PM
Grayscale is a terminal illness, it just takes a while to fully kill you.
6/2/2015 5:20:16 PM
^shireen disagrees, there are ways to treat it but no known effective cure
6/2/2015 5:29:09 PM
In general terms, it's a terminal illness. Unless you're the daughter of the king's brother, you're going to die with it.
6/2/2015 6:07:22 PM
I think they will save jorah somehowAs far as deaths go, i think the knight of flowers has perfumed his last penisThat battle was the shit, made up for the complete clusterfuck that has been dorne
