Yeah I dont advise doing this with a car due to possible damage or scratching but covering your walkway at least isnt all that risky even if it doesn't work well haha. Plywood would be another option but that works much better for snow. If we get rain mixing in its just gonna get under the plywood and freeze anyways.

I'm kinda excited to try my new windshield/wiper cover and see if it actually works I genuinely needed groceries the other day and had to laugh when the bread isle was completely empty...can't imagine what it looks like today[Edited on January 21, 2016 at 2:58 PM. Reason : can't spell]

So, salt won't do the trick? I have a steeper than average driveway that's impossible to drive up if it's icy.
1/21/2016 3:27:14 PM
Salt ain't going to do shit if there is rain.
1/21/2016 3:27:57 PM
Salt cant hurt and would at least delay the freezing and if its barely below freezing would be a lot more useful which in this case seems to be the case.
1/21/2016 3:28:58 PM
Get your milk sandwich supplies ready!
1/21/2016 3:31:50 PM
Could probably use a leaf blower if its snow/sleet
1/21/2016 3:38:05 PM
Even Greg Fishel is starting to put out warnings for this one. He was on Adam and Joe a little bit ago. Said that it may not hit until right at rush hour but when it does it will snow heavy and to think back to the picture of Glenwood Ave from last year with the car on fire. Said schools should go ahead and call it off. I hope the bosses out there let everyone take the day off, because he said leave your house with it not snowing and within 15-20 min it will be heavy snow with quick accumulation. it will get bad quick.[Edited on January 21, 2016 at 3:42 PM. 1/21/2016 4:07:02 PM
A lot of the people in DC sympathize with ices. The PC culture made them too afraid to even salt the roads before the snow last night.
1/21/2016 4:09:49 PM
they just announced dc metro will be shut down saturday and sunday.

1/21/2016 7:16:33 PM
It's a shame that all those rich fuckers in the DC area can't delegate more funds to ice and snow treatment than they do already. They suck at winter weather driving just as much as other southern states. The difference is that they consistently get more winter weather, yet don't prepare like NY or MA.[Edited on January 21, 2016 at 7:34 PM. Reason : I]
1/21/2016 7:33:57 PM
i dont think dc is rich. pretty sure suburbs in nova and maryland take care of their streets.
1/21/2016 7:42:54 PM

1/21/2016 8:36:51 PM

1/21/2016 9:26:18 PM
i hate how the media is like OMG IF 1 INCH OF SNOW CAUSED THIS MUCH PROBLEMS WHATS GONNA HAPPEN WHEN THEY GET 30?obviously it won't be worse because people won't try to drive in 30 inches but everyone drives in 1.

Just saw on a news update that at a grocery store in the mountains, the bread and milk were in no danger of running out, but the shelves were cleared of Little Debbie cakes and Mountain Dew.
1/22/2016 3:08:35 AM
Official precipitation sounds heard in east Raleigh at 04:46. I refuse to go to the window, but sounds like sleet.
1/22/2016 4:54:38 AM
A tiny amount of sleet, but nothing measurable and it's not icy outside. It's not supposed to really start until 7
1/22/2016 5:31:15 AM
It's dumping ice right now. Work us closed. Very nice. Very nice indeed.
1/22/2016 6:45:44 AM
look at those wind gusts, if we have snow or ice on trees be ready to lose power[Edited on January 22, 2016 at 6:53 AM. Reason : .]
1/22/2016 6:52:58 AM
Allan Huffman ?@RaleighWx 1h1 hour agoOvernight model trends were warmer aloft which indicate more of an ice issue vs snow issue in general for many. Not going to redo map butAllan Huffman ?@RaleighWx 1h1 hour agoi would focus more on the lower snow range in the forecast and the higher ice ranges.
1/22/2016 6:56:05 AM
