Lunak, they got it rough, bf's brother got baseball size hail smashing his car to bits.We got about three inches here in areas. We went exploring, looks like our neighborhood got the worst of it in the immediate area, you can smell the fresh wood, trees down everywhere, lines down, roofing and shizz.Check out glade springs, va, really close to us, tractor trailers flipped over, one flew into a restaurant. heavy rain in garner. [Edited on April 28, 2011 at 1:39 PM. Reason : ]
4/28/2011 1:39:17 PM
I live in Wilmington and there is nothing really close to us. Right now there is a tornado north of us in the not so populated counties which our TV stations keep talking about. We might get hit later with good some stuff though.
4/28/2011 1:40:53 PM
^^ I live in clayton, and something you need to understand is that the radar images get distorted close to the tower, which is between garner and clayton. Consistantly the radar looks like it is gonna destroy us and nothing happens.
4/28/2011 1:42:35 PM
haha our local news station is a fucking joke.
4/28/2011 1:50:06 PM
hard rain and thunder in lizard lick!
4/28/2011 1:50:44 PM
Fuck that lightening was close. Radar isn't lying today.

4/28/2011 2:13:15 PM
I can definitely say our news team fucking rocks. James Spann saved lives yesterday. He was the guy on the livestream I put up
4/28/2011 3:20:29 PM
^ better than that crazy guy in tuscaloosa with the ipad
4/28/2011 3:29:06 PM
Ours were good interrupting us. The cbs station is what made us move to the basement but the news reporters on the fox channel/nbc succcccccccccccccccked
4/28/2011 3:42:51 PM
I think James Spann didn't take a break from early afternoon yesterday (maybe starting around 1 or 2?) until 3 am or something... and was talking to people at 7 amnot sure if many people have seen this video..http://www.alabamawx.com/?p=47091also, not sure if it has been mentioned here but the tornado that hit Tuscaloosa and Bham started in Mississippi and went all the way to Georgia - never stopped in Bamaand craptastic, I think esstover or bmel have dibs on Banana this was an area in Bham: http://youtu.be/xzXqjh5shhIAlso, not sure if this is a long shot or not.... but there are volunteer opportunities. Here's one for Bham: http://www.handsonbirmingham.org/specialevents/viewSpecialEvent.php?_mode=eventDetail&_action=eventDetail&ixSpecialEvent=419I'm sure they have tons all over the state, too[Edited on April 28, 2011 at 4:11 PM. That's awesome. I'm sure it was an historic day he wanted to be a part of. Just the part I watched online while the tornado was heading towards you he seemed almost "excited" for lack of a better word. Not excited about the destruction or potential loss of life but the urgent need to let people know to hide. He was saying there were so many tornadoes on the ground that if you saw a storm coming at you on the radar you needed to find cover because it probably had a tornado.I wonder if they'll do a movie about this day, I enjoyed twister. The science fascinates me.Also, I wish the newscasters would be a little more considerate about the deaths around it instead of making it feel like just a number. One lady was like "someone was missing and we have reports they moved some rubble and there was the body upping the count to 16 now dead." I was like ugh gruesome.Samwise, think you'll be able to see Obama tomorrow??Washington county, VA basically across the street from us[Edited on April 28, 2011 at 4:27 PM. Reason : kuyt]

4/28/2011 4:34:46 PM
From someone on americanwx:the story out of the Rosedale projects in Tuscaloosa is nothing less than horrifying. EMS called in a cold storage unit because of all the bodies they found so far.
4/28/2011 4:37:29 PM
This town in GA is not allowing people downtown and have asked for mass cadaver assistance or something to that effect. Guy goes "what does this mean?" "Well, Bob, it means there is the potential for large numbers of injuries and possibly fatalities"
4/28/2011 4:39:28 PM
That's crazy about the bodies I think a lot of people were unprepared because it really did look like it was going to hit downtown.. then swervedI didn't even Obama was going to be here... honestly, I have too much school stuff to worry about and I don't think I would want to hear him speak right now. I doubt he'll be doing hands on cleaning up and just making a blanket statement, sooooo.... yeah. This picture was taken from where I go to schoolTuscaloosa shotsRandom shots throughout BamaThis one is crazy... a double tornadoAnd I really don't want to spark a religious discussion, but this picture gave me chillsSomeone found it in their yard[Edited on April 28, 2011 at 4:51 PM. 4/28/2011 5:54:11 PM
GOD IS NOT HERE TODAY
4/28/2011 6:05:30 PM
I talked to my friend about it and now I'm really pissed offShe was being cynical and saying, "I wonder if God left a note for the Japan or Haiti victims"She went through Katrina in New Orleans and said people apparently started doing this shit to either a) prove a point or b) exploit victims or their families. She pointed out that Sharpies bleed in water...I never saw it as a sign of "God's plan" or was trying to say God did this - I just thought it was crazy that a piece of paper was torn off and that part was salvaged. Now I'm wondering if it was some loon trying to prove a point.I don't know.. I keep hearing people say that God is always in control, and all of that... but that to me is not uplifting at all. So, are they trying to say God controlled the tornadoes and decided to send lots of them into heavily populated areas? :\
4/28/2011 6:07:46 PM
Even as a Catholic, I have a trouble buying the "all loving, all powerfull God" bit because it doesn't make sense to me. I feel like if there was an all powerful all loving god that there wouldn't be so much suffering in the world, especially to innocent people.
