I've heard numerous reports over the past few weeks that said it would definitely have online play. I don't think I ever confirmed whether or not they were Nintendo though. They would be absolutely stupid not to make it online.

And we'll be lucky to get Mario Kart Wii by Christmas of 2009. Have they ever actually released something on time?

I'm sick of seeing those damn big-headed, bland as hell Miis in every single piece of crap they release for the average consumer. Then they slap them into equally bland, pastel environments. They desperately need to create a more sophisticated custom character scheme. They're sacrificing variety for simplicity.

At least we got solid details on SSBB and Mario Galaxy. It'd be nice to see a new franchise someday (arguably the Wii series is one), but whatever.

Hopefully 3rd party companies can fill in the gaps.

kinda sucks to go online to download games..

we should be able to download them onto a thumb drive and use the USB on the Wii to upload them.

i cant get a good connection where the Wii is now (at my GFs house).. too much of a hassle to keep taking it to my house just for internet to download games

sorry Wraith, but Eternal Darkness won't happen. The people that made it, Silicon Knights, are locked into making the Too Human trilogy for 360, and since they've been working on the first of three since the cube debuted, it's gonna be a while.

am i the only one that doesnt like the new metroids? if they made it 3d like mario, it would of been real tight, but the first person view turns it into another halo which ruins the game. i hope they change it. super metroid was the best one so far, take it back to the classics.

I agree that Super Metroid is the best of the series, but there is only so much you can do with 2D environments. I like what they have done with the series though.

i dont mean it should be 2d, but just like mario is 3d where u can run in any direction, but the camera is behind him instead of 1st person veiw, thats better, cause u get a better idea of ur surroundings, thats what metroid is based on. how do u do a space jump or screw attack or any of the usual metroid stuff in first person?

They do switch to 3rd-person for the times when it wouldn't make sense to be in 1st-person, like when you're in the morph ball or doing the screw jump.

All in all, I think the Prime series has been awesome. Very true to the Metroid franchise, but stellar 3D shooters.

Guess you never played Echoes, it definitely had both of those in there. And I'm not trying to be an ass or anything, but if you never even played Echoes I'm don't see why your opinion would be valid on the Metroid Prime games.

^Every person with a Wii should have at least one controller and a memory stick. It functions as a GC, so might as well use it for that purpose also. So many really great games got missed on the GC last generation and this recent surge of Wii owners should take advantage of that library.
