7/2/2009 12:12:56 PM
is this for YOU or for your hubby?if it's for you, yes it's too big.if it's for hubby...well, if his arms are bigger than yours, then sure, it looks good for him.
7/2/2009 12:14:05 PM
if you just go to the boobiepie gallery, they're there. http://boobiepie.com/gallery/it's a hard call for me. i like it, but it might be a touch big. i usually like to see something in full perspective, and i know that's not possible at work.
7/2/2009 12:14:30 PM
He doesn't wear watches I didn't think this would be so big
7/2/2009 12:14:50 PM
The 3rd one is definitely way too big. The 2nd isn't too bad. They just seem so bulky!
7/2/2009 12:17:16 PM
well, good for you underestimating your arm size.
7/2/2009 12:18:03 PM
butbutI already spent the money (this was a w00t find...I really didn't think at all this would be too big.)...Anyone want a watch for their husband?
7/2/2009 12:18:18 PM
what about taking it to a watch shop and seeing if they'd take a link out? if it didn't slouch down on the hand like that, it might not seem quite as big?
7/2/2009 12:18:58 PM
i'm personally a fan of big watches and big rings...i have long limbs (not disproportionate or anything) and bigger jewelry just looks better...
7/2/2009 12:38:23 PM
Well, it's up on CL now http://raleigh.craigslist.org/jwl/1250421203.html
7/2/2009 1:04:12 PM
since only boys are posting in the thinking thread...how tacky are espadrilles with shorts?
7/3/2009 12:24:53 PM
^ Not a fan. Though, maybe it depends on the shorts. But I've never seen it look particularly flattering or put-together.
7/3/2009 12:26:48 PM
yeah...that's sorta what i was thinking...i really want to wear my new shoes but i only have a denim skirt to wear with them...i sorta want to wear shorts or a sundress...but i can't wear the shoes with them...i just don't know what to do!
7/3/2009 12:28:48 PM
^ It could work with the RIGHT sundress. Otherwise, rock out the denim skirt. Aren't you pretty tall anyway? You're gonna have legs for MILES.
7/3/2009 12:33:30 PM
k...i went with the skirt and a different shirt than i was planning on wearing...i may be a tad over dressed for hanging out with the boys
7/3/2009 12:44:53 PM
dude, esparildas and shorts are totally fine. which reminds me i lhave a lime green pair i never wear under my bed. AND BTW, your late!

My go-tos for pedi/mani needs:nails to go on western, for $rhodeisland service. And I've only been once...I don't do mani/pedis often - I didn't even get my nails done after I got engaged and everyone was looking at my hands/ring.Generations Salon for more normal service. I always get the men's manicure, because colored polish isn't my cup of tea. And it's a little cheaper I have a wedding to go to on 7/11, and it looks like the cheapest route for footwear is actually going to be a pedi + new sandals. My work heels are in too bad of condition to wear to the wedding, the good heels in good condition are far too formal and more like ankle boots (I'm wearing a skirt), and I have one pair of "athletic" flipflops My swanky flats are in sorry shape because they're my everyday shoes...and I would like at least a little heel. I've lost weight and am down a size and this outfit shows that off, but I still feel quite short and stubby.Anyone have a suggestion for quality that's more in line with generations, and priced more like an azn place?I've called the beauty school over at crossroads for a couple different services in the past, and am told the students don't work on the public If one needs a referral, can someone hook me up?PS: this only needs to last from Tuesday or Wednesday of this coming week, with perhaps a single night of camping, til Saturday early evening. After that, everyone will be wasted It will all be ruined later in the trip, which is okay [Edited on July 4, 2009 at 5:01 PM. Reason : dflg][Edited on July 4, 2009 at 5:01 PM. Reason : sdfg]

Mitchell's Beauty School on Buck Jones does them but they have VERY few colors, I know you said you don't like color but I'm not sure if you will get it for the wedding. My friend and I got manicures and mine looked pretty good but hers were TERRIBLE! They don't rub your hands or anything just paint your nails and you could prob do it yourself. It was only like $5 thought I think.I have also gotten a pedicure from the Aveda school in Charlotte and it was awesome. They did an awesome job, massage you well, have lots of colors (that are vegan if that makes you happy). Their instructors have to check them and make sure they are okay. That one was $15. There is an Aveda school in Chapel Hill you can go to, I'm not sure if that is too far.Anyway, here are the websites for both schools:http://www.mitchells.edu/ClinicServicesHours/tabid/1262/Default.aspxhttp://www.avedachapelhill.com/services.shtmlThis one says pedi's are 25, but mine was 15 in Charlotte so you may need to ask about thatOh and here is a 20% off coupon tues- thurs:http://maps.google.com/coupons/page?did=0_10935642909311346125&cid=KMZ728D89GK39A2H&oi=md_coup&sa=X&ct=coup&cd=1&gl=us&hl=en

ooooh thank you!I'll look into that.

drool... my credit card is in my car
7/5/2009 2:15:21 AM
I have to second Aveda beauty school in Chapel Hill, my sister goes there for haircuts all the time and they do a great job. PS <3 this dress from Modcloth, but I'm worried the thin fabric might not be kind to my lower half. I prefer a structured dress [Edited on July 5, 2009 at 10:26 AM. Reason : ee]
7/5/2009 10:05:44 AM
SHIT! I've been looking through Modcloth all morning and that place is full of WANTWANTWANTWANTetc.
7/5/2009 11:31:41 AM
Your taste...I approve
7/5/2009 11:32:37 AM
the 1st two are sold out
7/5/2009 11:33:33 AM
^^ LOVE that middle one!Okay so my birthday (21 rah rah rah) is on Thurs and I need to buy some shoes before then! I saw this girl's shoes today and I am obsessed with them and she said they were from a store in VA. They are Delicious brand which I've seen before at Wet Seal, 579, or one of those. Does anyone remember seeing this brand anywhere? I can't find a picture of them but they were teal and gladiatorish and high heeledlWhere can you get cheap, cute heels? I don't think I am going to wear them out since alcohol + novice heel walker would end up in a disaster. One of my dresses is white and black so colored heels would be great and the other is purple and black so prob black with those.
7/5/2009 7:34:34 PM
Charlotte Russe has a lot of cute shoes in the $25 to $40 range. the quality isn't great but IMO most innocent bystanders can't tell the difference.also try wedges, they're more stable than pointy heels
7/5/2009 10:30:34 PM
Go to DSW, macy's or loehmann's for cheap, cute heels. Be picky. You can get cheap LAMB heels for $80 at loehmann's if you look hard enough.Be very particular about the brand. Your feet will pay for it later. Nine West generally offers decent quality for a low price.

anyone have opinion on this duvet cover - i know it's white, but I love the city design...http://www.cb2.com/family.aspx?c=422&f=5500
7/7/2009 9:18:40 PM
I really really like that!I'm a fan of white comforters and pillows with colored sheets, but I could see myself being drunk and tempted to color it in though
7/7/2009 10:47:00 PM
Nerdchick... that skirt. OMG. The black and red dress, too. But that skirt. Maaaaaan. As for the duvet, it's sort of fun. When I had money to spend, I really wanted to get a white/lighter in color, lightweight bed cover... Are they called coverlets? Anyway, something lighter in weight and color for the summer, since it's generally hot as heck in my apartment. My current comforter is solid black/tan reversible, but I'm sort of tired of it.And, regarding the Aveda school, I love them. But I don't go unless I'm feeling patient. I got the most amazing haircut (for free) at the Aveda school in NYC. (They were doing a "short hair class" and there were tons of ads on CL.) But they're students and generally work at a slower pace. For manis/pedis, I wouldn't worry as much because there's not as much technical skill to them. I used to go to the Leon's Beauty School in Gboro for cheap manis/pedis. ]
7/8/2009 2:33:01 PM
^ I just looked them up cause I would love to find a place for cheap mani and pedis in Greensboro but there prices seem to be normal- $20+ for a mani, $30+ for a pedi. Although it does have fine print that says the prices vary depending on new talent vs. master stylists, I would think it was be close to the listed amount no matter who does it. Am I wrong?
7/8/2009 3:13:36 PM
it's been a few years (two maybe?) since i went and i definitely don't remember them being that expensive. if they are, then i wouldn't waste my time at that beauty school. they don't have any of the fancy drying stations or anything (which gets to be a pain in the ass).
7/8/2009 3:15:48 PM
Does anyone know someone who monograms or embroiders stuff?I want to get a list of things embroidered.Shirt for my dogCroakieCoozieMaybe a beltKeychainEtc. haha
7/8/2009 3:20:41 PM
^we're gonna have to see proof of your sorority membership before we can allow you to tote a monogrammed coozie
7/8/2009 3:22:04 PM
^^this is a really random suggestion, but a friend of mine from CoT, her mother works for Bernina. they have a Bernina store in north-ish Raleigh, and a lot of those women do jobs like that PT. (If you don't know, Berninas are very nice sewing machines that have industry-quality embroidery features.) I might go to that store and ask if anyone would do it. I bet you'd get a great price. I don't know if she still works there, really, but my friend's last name is Wheeler (I forgot her first name, whoops), so you could ask for her.]
7/8/2009 3:24:47 PM
Is her first name Sarah? I've never heard of that stuff before... And all the embroidered stuff is not for me. Gifts and such. Thanks so much for the suggestion - I'll do that.
7/8/2009 3:35:59 PM
Yeah, my friend is Sarah, do you know her? But her mom is who used to work at Bernina and still does some 'freelance' stuff. Actually, if you want, I can give you Sarah's email to contact her mom. But otherwise, I would just go to the Bernina store and see if any of the ladies working there would do it for cash.
7/8/2009 3:38:58 PM
I know that Swoozies in Cameron Village does monogram stuff but I don't know if you have to buy the stuff from them.
7/8/2009 5:32:27 PM
can any curly-haired girls recommend a good stylist? i found the old thread about it but it would also be great to find a good stylist who actually has curly hair...
7/8/2009 5:41:12 PM
whats up biatches. ok so someone (nerdchick??) posted some modcloth clothes above - has anyone ordered anything from modcloth before? i want to get a dress but i'm scurred. if you have ordered from them before what size did you get, did it fit correctly, was the quality what you were expecting?i feel like i'm kind of hard to fit because i'm small on top but bigger on the bottom. though dresses and skirts (what i live in during summer - no shorts for me) usually help me out cause nothing has to fit around my butt/thighs. but since i'm small on top i usually wear an XS. which isn't an option for a lot of ModCloth stuff so i was wondering if anyone has ordered and how the sizing was. specifically the smalls but you know i'll take anything really. i mean the size chart on the site has measurements of each garment so i guess i should just use that.OK ANYWAY they have new dresses up today ahhhh:
7/10/2009 2:55:53 PM
I love the 2nd one
7/10/2009 3:26:22 PM
I am addicted to deep v tees...so yay or nay?
7/11/2009 11:30:42 PM
^^^ love love love that 2nd oneand deep neck Vs are always a plus, I love them too
7/11/2009 11:32:00 PM
I need ideas for how to do my hair for this wedding.
7/12/2009 1:22:34 AM
khcadwal if you're petite I don't think you should wear either dress! unless you're tall.the first one will make a petite girl look shorter, and the second one will look like you're being attacked by giant roses from space.
7/12/2009 7:43:46 AM
crpelliz, http://hairbodyandsolespa.com/ Cheri, the owner of Hair Body and Sole in Apex has SUPER curly hair. She does good work.
