^^Well it's not really that they took over because it started from one bite. People are dying every second of the day, hospitals/hospice/retirement centers would be breeding grounds for zombie creations. People would be killing each other and creating zombies, etc. I'm not sure it would end up like the Walking Dead universe, but at the same time, it's not farfetched that entire towns/cities could be overrun.

Plus there are a lot of dumb people out there. I imagine a lot of people would be weak and wouldn't be able to take out family/friends/lovers when they needed to.

^^^Ignorance of the populace along with government trying to contain and cover things up. Fresh walkers may have been slightly more potent as well.

Also, considering there is now a council for major decisions, people are going to be pissed that Rick took the action of banishing Carol by himself.

i think the biggest thing will be the Council being pissed at Rick. the Council was formed for a reason and to make such a big decision like this without the rest of their input will prove to be bad for Rick.

Is there a chance that Rick will just tell them that Carol got killed?

What about Carol falling in with the Governor.

The Walking Dead = Lost 2.

These episodes are doing nothing to advance the story. Its all about making you watch another episode, nothing is happening NOTHING.

Carol getting voted off the island was something (and I'm on the record in this thread for not liking this show).

I'm treating this show like reality tv -- I have it on in the background while doing stuff around the house.

Didn't seem like anything interesting happened. Who the hell cares about the sheriffs internal emotional struggles? Or The Wire guys' struggles? Or Carl? Or grandma? Or the red shirts?

Actually, I'm not even sure what the point of the show is. They aren't going anywhere. We aren't finding out shit about the zombie illness. There aren't any interesting villains.

If they aren't out of that prison, finding out about the zombies, killing the governor before this season ends I'm done watching. I'll just wait for it to be cancelled and sold to netflix.

I imagine something's going to happen with that enormous horde that made them leave the black charger(?) behind. If that number showed up at the prison, those chain link fences wouldn't stand a chance.

^^I've got a feeling that might be how they are forced out of the prison, which is kind of lame considering that's almost exactly how they were forced off the farm, but maybe they'll just have to leave to escape the disease

I just don't understand what the problem was with killing those people. She could've just said they had turned and she took care of them so Tyrese didn't have to see them that way.

Rick expressed the problem pretty succinctly.

"They were going to die." --> You didn't know that.

"You killed someone." --> Who was a clear and present danger.

As a matter of Carol's survival, saying they had turned would have made more sense, but it doesn't fit her character arc. She's become the sort of person who isn't apologetic about teaching kids to use deadly weapons in secret or preemptively murdering people with a highly contagious illness.

My whole thing with these huge hordes of zombies is why isn't mother nature taking them out? These zombies would be easy pickings for a wide variety of predators. Fuck even birds could go to town on them.

I know TWD and Max Brooks's zombie interpretations are fairly different, but I think TWD's zombie interpretations is closer to that of Max Brooks's zombie interpretations than any other that comes to mind. With that said, Max Brooks addresses how why animals, or even insects and bacteria do not destroy zombies. I think it has to do with how consuming zombie meat is poisonous, and it can turn a human into a zombie and outright kill any animal, insect or microbe. The result of this is everything would learn to avoid consuming zombie meat. So, how do zombies die off naturally? Well, according to Brooks, their bodies can never heal, so as they exert themselves, bones break and muscles tear, eventually breaking them down to immobile broken lumps of zombie. This is also why freshly turned zombies are slightly more dangerous, since they still have their bones and muscles still in tact, which makes them tough in hand to hand combat due to their over exertion of strength with no regard to muscle tear.

I kind of went off on a tangent, but I just wanted to try and explain why animals have not decimated zombies

the zombies are rotting flesh, many animals have instincts to tell them not to eat such things

I watched 2 episodes of SOA as I was convinced I would love it. I found Jax's character to be over the top enough that it bothered me. Does that change?

Concerning the council being mad a Rick for dropping Carol: In the previews for next week there's a scene where Rick says something along these lines to Hershel, "After this is over, things aren't going to be like before"

I am thinking there's a possibility this means he is going to take over again

I was being facetious, plenty of people have talked about the previews in this thread. And I do think they try and mislead you sometimes...they certainly do in Survivor (not that this is Survivor)

Also they play the previews like a half a second after the show ends...you've gotta be pretty quick with the remote if you don't want to see them

^^ eh, depends on the show. The Walking Dead previews are pretty decent. "On the next episode" previews for Dexter were absolutely horrible though. They always ruined the cliff hanger from the episode that just ended, or gave away what would happen after a 30 minute buildup in the next episode.

This is a random line from a preview with very little context. It'd be a real stretch to call it a spoiler.

Plus, the line quoted here is misquoted. The interpretation/prediction based on it doesn't make sense with the actual line and it's delivery.

^^ it was a question posed to Hershel.

You were really close, just missed the last couple of words which completely changes it.

"When we get passed this thing (insert Rick pause) it's not gonna be like how it was, is it?"
