finally able to cook, but i dont really have much to cook in way of fresh ingredients, so another one of those "hey im going to make something up" nights

tonight's turned out fucking awesome, eating it now and have to share already lol

crisped up 4 slices of super thick smoked bacon, cut up into bits

threw the bacon, with 1/4 small white onion into large saucepan with olive oil, started heating up chicken stock

threw in aborino rice after the onions were translucent

cooked up the risotto traditionally, then folded in two egg yolks off the heat, shaved off a ton of pecorino romano, folded in to melt

a bacon egg and cheese risotto lollllll

but it works

hubby said to make whatever (score!) so i'm doing a pasta dish

chicken, zucchini, portabello, olives & onion tossed w/ tomato basil sauce and vermicelli

for a moment I pondered doing chicken parm

i may still do that...chicken is still thawing so I can change my mind

first attempt at making pizza

sauteed mushrooms and green onions with garlic

rolled crust, oiled, laid down a layer of prosciutto (cant really see), lightly sauced, then artichoke hearts, the mushroom/onions, small layer of parmesan shredded from the block

quite tasty

i just found a yummy recipe for pizza dough and instructions for grilling nommy pizzas. i wanna try it out.

i also have another dough recipe (whole wheat crust) and good pizza ideas from this veg cookbook i got. i'm not a veg, but i could be i guess. i eat more veggies than meat anyway. and i had a giftcard to borders and didn't know wtf to buy. but the cookbook looked yummy. i don't normally follow recipes 100%. i use them for inspiration and then alter as i see fit. which usually works. usually.

oh that was just my comment on pizza dough. i wanna try it soon.

now i'm making tacos

i can't decide whether or not to slice my avocado for them or to hold onto that for use on sammiches this week.

^ hahaha. i don't know why but that made me laugh so hard. that cake recipe debacle was amazing.

and i don't know what my deal with lamb is. i don't think i've ever even eaten it and it grosses me out. and i'm not a picky eater so i don't know what my problem is. it always sounds/looks good when people make it.

yeah, I don't what it is about lamb. I like it, but I think it's an acquired taste for Americans. Just because it's a smell, texture, taste that most Americans don't really grow up with.... that very well just might be my family though.

are those racial stereotypes? sorry, i didn't know. i just picked some random ingredients. people of all races smoke the herb, and everybody loves fried chicken.

p.s. the cakes were from the Hilton.
