Is MJ Morris healthy?????
9/9/2023 3:06:36 PM
Yeah he is.
9/9/2023 3:08:49 PM
I don’t think it’s really time to bench Armstrong. He hasn’t been impressive but I think the issues are more than him. Drops, no run game…Defense looks legit. Hartman isn’t good when pressured.
9/9/2023 3:12:50 PM
Penalties are our best offense
9/9/2023 3:17:36 PM
Like i said. Give Hartman time and he’ll pick us apart. Blitz him and he’s not good. We didn’t blitz and got conservative
9/9/2023 3:25:42 PM
Weak shit on that drive. Been good defensively all game but that 1 long run. Then we go soft before half and give up a td.
9/9/2023 3:27:43 PM
Lol bad clock management to end the half.
9/9/2023 3:30:52 PM
How do you rush 3 and fuck up the coverage that badly
9/9/2023 3:31:25 PM
Because it’s tough to cover 5 receivers with 8 guys for 10 seconds
9/9/2023 3:32:38 PM
Yeah hard to blame coverage when he had 10 seconds to find a man. I know I’m a broken record but Hartman has been mediocre when he faces pressure and has made 0 big plays in the pass game when blitzed. So we stupidly chose to drop 8
9/9/2023 3:35:27 PM
I feel like lesane expected them to snap it with ND so far offsides
9/9/2023 3:54:54 PM
Lol LeSane false started because he was pointing at the ND guy who was like 4 yards offside but we didn’t snap in time so ND got back and got penalized.
9/9/2023 3:54:57 PM
Also I thought it was definitely a first down?
9/9/2023 3:55:24 PM
9/9/2023 3:58:22 PM
I like the early 3rd quarter TO - gotta avoid that delay of game to keep us in 4th and manageable for that punt.
9/9/2023 3:59:58 PM
Lol at these ND penalties.
9/9/2023 4:06:09 PM
“By the letter of the law it’s correct but that shouldn’t be a penalty” lol at that description.
9/9/2023 4:07:12 PM
trying to push him out instead of tackling. Lol wtf. They’re just bigger, faster, stronger and it’s starting to show. If they didn’t have so many penalties we’d have 0 points
9/9/2023 4:14:12 PM
^^To be fair, I think he said “in my personal opinion” or something like that at the end. And it can be a valid criticism at times. Going 36 mph in a 35 is technically against the law, but you shouldn’t get a ticket. I heard him say it, but actually missed the call it was referring to, so what do I know^seriously wtf. He could have wrapped up, but nope, weak ass push [Edited on September 9, 2023 at 4:16 PM. Reason : $$$]
9/9/2023 4:15:14 PM
Yeah I get it. Just funny the way he worded it. But I get what he meant
9/9/2023 4:16:19 PM
Wow what a catch
9/9/2023 4:18:46 PM
Vereen is a beast
9/9/2023 4:23:27 PM
Niiiiiice!
9/9/2023 4:26:52 PM
LET'S GO
9/9/2023 4:27:26 PM
Welp. Way to fuck that opportunity up
9/9/2023 4:30:24 PM
Fucking brutal to get 0 points.
9/9/2023 4:31:21 PM
Exclusively took shots deep, weird
9/9/2023 4:34:08 PM
That punter is a weapon
9/9/2023 4:37:40 PM
Dropppppps
9/9/2023 4:40:10 PM
Tough day for the offense
9/9/2023 4:41:21 PM
Ballgame
9/9/2023 4:43:18 PM
9/9/2023 4:44:38 PM
Mistakes and missed opportunities. Can’t really afford that against a team as good as ND. Even though they’ve kinda let us hang around with their own penalties
9/9/2023 4:48:05 PM
Two brutal false starts, and drops. I was expecting a 28-3 so I guess better than expected but offense is not good. Simply don’t have any game breakers on the field.
9/9/2023 4:48:51 PM
9/9/2023 4:51:33 PM
I am not sure we have a QB that can accurately deliver the ball if we did have breakaway WR's
9/9/2023 4:51:34 PM
Our best offensive weapons appear to be freshmen which is probably not a good sign.
9/9/2023 4:51:54 PM
Morris
9/9/2023 4:51:58 PM
Let Morris Cook
9/9/2023 4:52:02 PM
Yeah sure why not.
9/9/2023 4:53:44 PM
Bungled it before halftime. Didn’t capitalize on the turnover. Turnovers of our own. Drops. Drops. Drops. Haven’t been able to take advantage of generally great starting field position all day. Just kinda shitty all around. They’re better than us for sure. Can’t afford that many errors vs a good team
9/9/2023 4:55:21 PM
Not enough bathrooms
9/9/2023 4:57:21 PM
-Turnovers-Drops-A defense that's not nearly as good as last year, especially the LBsThat's a recipe for a long season.[Edited on September 9, 2023 at 5:04 PM. Reason : Also bathrooms]

I honestly don’t even know how to judge this game. Felt like we were so close to being 24-24 (or better if we don’t fuck up the end of the first half). But also very close to only having 7 points. Their penalties basically gifted us 10 points. Good to see some WRs emerge (Juice mostly) as weapons but tons of drops there too. Run game still sucks. Defense looks pretty good but still gave up explosive plays and can’t hold up over 60 vs a team as talented as ND. Armstrong had some bad throws, WRs didn’t help him. His legs were def negated today^ I’m not quite ready to say it’ll be a long season only because our schedule isn’t that bad. But yeah it kinda feels like it’ll be a slog if the offense can’t improve [Edited on September 9, 2023 at 5:07 PM. Reason : S]
9/9/2023 5:05:32 PM
We'll remember ND still throwing the ball when we play them again in 20 years14-24 lol that's all it took[Edited on September 9, 2023 at 5:13 PM. Reason : E]
9/9/2023 5:10:42 PM
Oh hey i didn't realize the guy from Clemson was even playing. Thought he was still hurt
9/9/2023 5:16:31 PM
Easy to say now since we’re getting beat bad and early returns on the O aren’t great. But this game and start to the season kinda makes me wonder why we brought Armstrong in. Unless he makes us a 9-3 type team, it kinda feels like we coulda just rode it out with MJ and let him learn the O and develop and build for next year. If we’re gonna go 6-6 regardless, I’d rather do it with MJ. I get that MJ can possibly redshirt and save a year of eligibility but that doesn’t feel super important at this stage. If he’s that good he’ll go pro or transfer to a bigger program. No need to preserve his eligibility really. [shrug]
9/9/2023 5:17:18 PM
I’ll just continue airing grievances here. Pennix has been our X factor secret weapon Jay Sam replacement for like 5 years now and he’s kinda always MIA or hurt. So is he maybe just not good? Or we are bad at getting him the ball?
9/9/2023 5:21:06 PM
I mean I get needing to put talent in the QB room. We really only had Morris and two extremely lightly recruited guys who were brothers of former players on scholarship prior to signing Armstrong. Relying on Finley (a guy who has proven he is not very good) and Lex Thomas (a true freshman who is well under 6' and had ZERO other offers) in the event of a Morris injury was not an ideal scenario. The only thing I don't like is how quickly they handed the job to Armstrong. Doesn't seem like there was ever actually a competition.
9/9/2023 5:30:51 PM
^ I agree with that. Can’t go into the season with just Morris, Finley, Thomas. Had to improve the QB room. But just not sold that Armstrong is the guy. But, Notre Dame is the best team will play all year most likely so I can withhold judgment for another few weeks I guess.
