I wonder if we'll ever get the truth. So much shit out there I don't know what to believe

Fuck all this. Fuck Avent. fuck it[Edited on June 26, 2021 at 7:52 AM. Reason : fuck it ]

Lol what a shitty and totally avoidable way to go out.
6/26/2021 8:00:13 AM
^^Yep.
6/26/2021 8:03:59 AM
Let this be a lesson to all dissenters. COMPLY OR ELSE.
6/26/2021 8:16:53 AM
God I hate antivax morons.
6/26/2021 8:21:59 AM
BUT DA NCAA DID THIS TO US!!!!!11111!1!1!!!]
6/26/2021 8:26:38 AM
Also, congrats to Vandy. This sets up perfectly for them and puts Miss St/Texas at a disadvantage
6/26/2021 8:35:40 AM
Yep, If I were them, i would protest the fuck out of this. No reason MSU/UT cant be the title game.
6/26/2021 8:42:07 AM
6/26/2021 8:47:45 AM
Too many positives to play? So why isn't Vandy at fault here too for not making all their players vaxx because otherwise why does it matter how many positive tests we had?
6/26/2021 8:53:35 AM
Die on that hill
6/26/2021 8:58:51 AM
6/26/2021 9:02:16 AM
I'm asking why a positive test even matters?
6/26/2021 9:09:27 AM
Really interested to know we will never hear if Vandy's players will be tested, enter protocol etc for coming in contact
6/26/2021 9:09:47 AM
The NCAA rules are silly considering everything else going on. If teams were still playing in empty stadiums or a bubble it might make senseBUTState knew the rules. And they knew the one very clear way to all but eliminate the risk of being impacted by those rules. They decided it was "politics"
6/26/2021 9:13:57 AM
^^eh, you're probably not gonna get a close contact on a baseball field. maybe the catcher during a long at bat, but even then it's questionable.
6/26/2021 9:15:38 AM
6/26/2021 9:21:22 AM
^^^ Where are you getting the "politics" part from? Who decided it was just politics?

My understanding is not that we had a ton of positive cases. Instead, the NCAA didn't have enough testing machines to test all the players in time after the Vandy Coach demanded the whole team get tested just before the game. Per Joe Giglio, most of our players tested negative all week. There were no additional positive tests yesterday. The players who sat out yesterday tested negative. They sat in a hotel room together yesterday and watched the game. This is absolute horse shit. Its not about player or fan safety at this point. If it were, then Vandy would be DQed, too. I take COVID seriously, and yes, we could have avoided this by just getting vaccines andcwe should have, but this is 100% a fucking screwjob by the NCAA. Avent even said he is completely in the dark. ^^the players who sat out yesterday were unvaccinated close contacts. It doesn't matter that they tested negative. They were quarantined as has been the rule all along.
6/26/2021 9:37:09 AM
Vanderbilt wouldn't necessarily need to be disqualified if they were vaccinated. I don't see how this entire episode is the NCAA's fault at all.
6/26/2021 9:44:09 AM
^^^ Thanks.
6/26/2021 9:45:04 AM
^^^^^I don’t know all the details (none of us do). But that seems rather disingenuous. Unvaccinated players in close contact with positive cases are supposed to quarantine. That’s kinda simple. Maybe the NCAA could’ve handled it differently. And there are legit questions to be asked about what has changed from yesterday to today (more positives?).^^ right. And as has been discussed, baseball isn’t really a close contact sport either. [Edited on June 26, 2021 at 9:46 AM. Reason : A]
6/26/2021 9:45:45 AM
Has the NCAA handled this poorly? Yes. Not sure why anyone would expect anything else. A 2 AM news dump is terrible form, just like the incredibly late breaking news about the game yesterday. Is it the NCAA's fault that NC State is out of the CWS? Absolutely not. This has actually all played out according to their published policies. Every team knew the rules related to vaccinated/unvaccinated travel party members.Don't be mad at the NCAA for not letting them play. At this point we'd have 9 guys available at most (which is less than the 10 guys on the lineup card.) The blame here lies with a virus and with a coaching staff/administration/players that didn't do everything possible to mitigate the very real risk of this exact thing happening.
6/26/2021 10:01:28 AM
^ very correct
6/26/2021 10:14:58 AM
Giglio has made the point on Twitter that some players may have been hesitant to get the vaccine in the middle of the season (because of the side effects they may need to miss a game or a weekend series). But the coaches and admins could’ve worked around that. They could’ve staged and spread out vaccine appointments. That seems like a really weak argument. The reality is the team’s vax rate probably isn’t much different than national or state averages. And coaches and admins could’ve and should’ve done more. [Edited on June 26, 2021 at 10:22 AM. Reason : A]
6/26/2021 10:18:17 AM
^thats weak sauce. Give them vaccines on Monday and we’d have been all set
6/26/2021 10:22:35 AM
Well no, because they wouldn't have been considered fully vaccinated.
6/26/2021 10:42:44 AM
I’m not talking about this past Monday, any Monday during the regular season and they would have been vaxxed for a cws run[Edited on June 26, 2021 at 10:43 AM. Reason : .]
6/26/2021 10:43:29 AM
Yes that is very true
6/26/2021 10:47:10 AM
6/26/2021 11:01:54 AM
^but that’s not the rules. The rules were established.

Anti-vax NC State baseball fans right now:Role reversal!

I might not have minded the "let them play" argumentIf not for the barstool shitbag making it first
6/26/2021 3:28:30 PM
Despite my stance, I think the Vandy coach is a villain too if he pushed for the retest. Zero chance he was thinking about keeping either team "safe"
6/26/2021 3:52:31 PM
^agreedIf it’s part of the “rules” fine, whatever…if it was anything besides that fuck him

Still waiting for all that evidence that the positive tests came from unvaxxed players.
6/26/2021 6:28:57 PM
That is not going to be released because they don't want to be rightly vilified for being so stupid.
6/26/2021 7:07:18 PM
^^ unless the rules distinguish between what to do with a positive test for a vaccinated vs unvaccinated player, then I don’t see why it matters.[Edited on June 26, 2021 at 7:13 PM. Reason : Vs]
6/26/2021 7:12:52 PM
25,000 people with no mask or vaccination requirements. If that's being allowed, every other rule is a posturing joke.
6/26/2021 7:31:21 PM
And yet they are still rules that every goddamn person on the team knew about the entire season.
6/26/2021 7:38:58 PM
Yep. All of that is true. But it is also important to recognize they make absolutely 0 difference in actual covid problems, because of what they are taking place next to. Nobody cares about 5 or 15 unvaccinated players with close contacts or whatever, when there are 25,000 fans with no masks or vaccination enforcement. The rules exclusively exist for the ncaa to posture. All of the criticism of the team still holds. But we can also call the rules stupid and arbitrary that have no impact whatsoever on public health.[Edited on June 26, 2021 at 7:43 PM. Reason : s]
6/26/2021 7:42:52 PM
Criticize the team for what?? Not existing in a bubble for the past month? Getting vaxxed and still testing positive? Playing their asses off and still getting fucked over?
