we're already fucked. the particular nature of this virus made the global spread almost inevitable. people just hesitant to respond with the appropriate measure because it will in fact be very disruptive. but not responding will just make the eventual disruption even worse. closing primary schools is probably what it's gonna take unfuck ourselves the fastest

Anyway, this is WAY more widespread than we possibly know. English soccer players left and right are testing positive, Brazil execs, Trudeaus wife, Tom Hanks, etc. The common denominator is famous people actually get tested.

Vast majority will, of course, be fine... but the news is going to be extremely rapid coming days..

Self-isolate, as a precaution. If you then develop a fever, contact a doctor, via telemedicinal means. Only then go to an emergency room if you're unable to breathe.

^ Yup. Seen the numbers for Germany, France, and Spain? Spain has suddenly surged today and overtaken Germany and France when it was below them yesterday. And Italy is still adding 2,500 cases daily. Can someone explain why more are dying in Italy than in Iran, way out of proportion to number infected?

^Would suspect it's because Italy's hospitals are overrun. Saw one update saying they were on the verge of collapsing just days ago. Though I also have a friend of a friend in Northern Italy saying things weren't too bad there but Southern Italy was in shambles.

Think I saw one article saying S. Korea nurses were saying they were having to pick between patients on who to save and who to let die with the volume they were facing.

Asthmatics have lungs which are already compromised. Normal people do not. Occasionally breathing in cleaning chemicals isn't going to hurt you unless you're in an unventilated closed space and do it regularly.
