^LSU is the 8 seed - the last national seed. I don't think the NCAA makes a designation as to who are seeds 9-16, but I think us playing LSU makes us kinda the de facto 9 seed - so we did just barely miss out on being a national seed. Definitely can chalk that up to the less than stellar finish to the season.

For baseball, they don't really seed 9-16. You just can't have same conference pairing, which is why we knew we'd very likely be paired with an SEC team's regional and that they usually like to keep Super Regional matchups somewhat regional as seen with FSU-Florida and Clemson-South Carolina. Sometimes someone will have to travel like we would've done to Oregon our CWS year, but Rice won.

We've obviously got to take care of business, but we're Rice fans again. I saw that St. Mary's has a really good ace, so hopefully he goes against Coastal and puts them in the loser bracket and we'll have a repeat of the 13 Regional.

Not really sure what our starting rotation will look like.

We were almost assuredly the last #16 host team but it doesn't matter we host.

Starting pitching for State will decide how far the team can go. Short/shitty starts = no run.

UNC got totally fucked. We would be irate. Be rational for a second. BC got in at 39 in the RPI and UNC was 18th.

we may have one of the toughest regionals out there. Saint Mary's and Navy both with legitimate aces and a really talented Coastal team. Hope the bats and home advantage can push us through.

Gillingham is a really good pitcher. he lead the nation in WHIP last year and is Top 15 this year. the Mids set a record for program wins this year (42). hoping they can give state a run for their money tomorrow.

Injuries to guys like O'Donnell & Williamson have been killer, and in combination with Piedmonte's ineffectiveness all season, and Brown's ineffectiveness over the last month, this staff's looking really shaky after it looked like it was coming together towards the end of April.
