Sweet. 3 refer a friend credits right before they canned the old program. I didn't refer any of them so guess they just clicked my link in my profile on the RW forums.

Anyone here submit their Defy XT for the Moto X using the Motorolla Tradeup Rebate program?I shipped my Defy XT on Feb 11th. It was delivered February 13th. Rebate says Produt Delivered to Recycler February 22 (estimated date) and validated by recycler February 27 (estimated date). Motorola site is indicating items have not be received by the rebate center... *sigh*
3/4/2014 10:18:53 PM
I did. Here's my dates:
3/5/2014 7:56:56 AM
^Make sure you don't throw it out with the junk mail. Others have mentioned it comes in an envelope labeled Clover Wireless.
3/5/2014 9:31:31 AM
i sent mine in in early december and still hadn't gotten anything back at the end of january...i sent an email bitching about it and suddenly the next day i got a notification email and received the card a couple of days later
3/5/2014 9:53:16 AM
3/5/2014 3:29:37 PM
I don't recall anything from Clover Wireless. I go through my mail pretty carefully before throwing stuff out too, so I'm 95% sure I haven't thrown it out.
3/5/2014 3:42:59 PM
Here is more on the envelope.https://community.republicwireless.com/message/166785#166785

It sincerely baffles me that the vast majority of people don't open mail if they aren't expecting it or don't know who the sender is. If I get mail, I'm opening it unless the receiver's name is not my own.

You must not own a house
3/6/2014 12:02:15 AM
^3 now I'm positive I haven't gotten it yet.

How can my Dad get in contact with Republic to find out about coverage in his area? Apparently he has some quesitons for them and he cant find any contact info. Neither could I after a quick search.
3/11/2014 1:31:26 AM
Since they use Sprint for cellular usage, I'd suspect http://coverage.sprint.com/IMPACT.jsp?INTNAV=ATG:HE:Cov would be a good place to start. Outside of that, anywhere with a decent wifi connection that isn't locked down should also work. They don't have a public support number so you have to open a trouble ticket on their site to contact them.]
3/11/2014 9:12:18 AM
^^ He needs to join the forums. Also you can submit a Support Ticket via email, this is how they conduct like 95% of communication.
3/11/2014 10:53:15 AM
Can you set individual notification sounds for different people? Either in Messenger or in People?

https://community.republicwireless.com/blogs/republic/2014/03/13/moto-g-the-perfect-match-for-republic-wirelessLooks like reactivations and the Moto G (8 and 16GB) are coming within the next month or so. Hopefully Kitkat for the Moto X won't too far behind.
3/13/2014 2:07:18 PM
Got my rebate $100 card today.
3/13/2014 4:30:24 PM
I'm glad I did not wait for the MotoG since it does not qualify for the $100 Jellybean rebate. I would have only saved about $30.Also I have a dropsuit case for the DefyXT if anyone wants it.

Just got this update today. It took nearly 2 months to verify I can have a rebate. Now another 6-8 weeks to get it. At least it's moving forward.
3/26/2014 11:47:15 AM
That $10 plan is the best deal ever for a second phone.
3/26/2014 11:53:22 AM
Hell I use the $10 plan as my first phone. I'm around wifi while using my phone nearly all the time, and I just deal with having no data when I'm not.
3/26/2014 1:40:29 PM
1st phone FTW.I dunno why people are so skurd go give up the constant data connection. It was a no-brainer for me, and besides I analyzed my monthly mobile data usage and I was only using like 200-300mb while on the Sprint network. It feels just about the same with RW as it did with Sprint except I save a TON of moolah baby [Edited on March 27, 2014 at 6:16 PM. Reason : /]

Got my rebate in the mail yesterday. Pretty cool that they offer 5% cash back on the card within 10 days if you use it at certain retailers. So that's like up to $105.26 in my pocket!*
4/11/2014 8:51:21 PM
Got both of my rebates yesterday as well.
4/12/2014 10:38:00 AM
rebate
4/13/2014 1:15:23 AM
I'm pretty sure my rebates came in a couple of months ago, and I thought it was spam mail so I threw it away (I remember getting something from Clover Wireless and not knowing what it was).I contacted Moto like 4 times and finally heard something back, saying that they were canceling the previous card and would send me a new one. In big letters in the email it said:
4/14/2014 11:21:46 AM
Here is my new referral ink just in case anyone wants to make us both $20!!!!11one http://rwshar.es/OyiF

Been talking to my Dad about potentially switching him and my mother to Republic Wireless. They recently upgraded their internet package (15mbps down) and get terrible, terrible Verizon reception here. They're not sure how Sprint will be. Coverage maps all say they're fine (a major highway is in view) but in reality both Verizon and AT&T phones come here to die. A couple blocks up the street... it's fine. Verizon refuses to buy them one of those signal boosters or whatever. If they switched to Republic Wireless, they'd save money and benefit from the wifi VOIP goodies even if reception in the house isn't great. Problem is, they'd like to test if the Sprint coverage would really be okay.Has anyone done the tactic of buying a phone/account (not migrating your number yet, probably still on your other service) and doing a test period where you travel your normal routes and haunts to see if everything seems good? And if you don't like it, you cancel. If you do like it, you transfer the number and keep it.
4/21/2014 12:16:34 AM
Try it out. You really don't have anything to lose, except for the shipping. But the $10 shipping or so is completely reasonable when you consider the possible long term savings and, in your parents' case, a plan that will WORK where others fall a little short.
4/21/2014 3:12:19 AM
I talked to my father about it and he wants to give it a try, but I was forward about my concerns that the support system for Republic Wireless was a little outside conventional support that people his age (60+) are used to. He's actually a very technically-minded person, and could use the RW forums and email them when he isn't able to overcome a technical issue, but my mother not so much (it would be her first smartphone--likely we'd get her a Moto G and he'd get a Moto X). The Republic Wireless wiki has a "complete list of caveats" (http://republic-wireless.wikia.com/wiki/The_Complete_List_of_Caveats) that made me a little concerned about, if they ever did have any problems, how it would impact them. But yes, he's going to take my advice and give a test trial. So we'll see how that goes. I should be switching carriers here soon, and while I'm still debating between a Moto X / Republic Wireless or a Nexus 5 / T-Mobile, I'm definitely leaning RW based on savings and my usage patterns.

Looks like RW may be rolling out Kit Kat for the Moto X based on reports on their forums.

Looks like only 2k will get it for now.

Epic triple post. Moto X KitKat update file for the impatient among us (aka me)http://bit.ly/1jx4HrAInstallation Instructions- https://community.republicwireless.com/message/210418#210418Should be able to skip #2 and just rename the file to update.zip before copying it to the phone. Also for #8, the new recovery installed and booted back up to initial recovery screen (green android with red exclamation) so I just repeated 6, 7 and 8.
4/22/2014 5:35:15 PM
^Thanks for that. I'm definitely not patient either and just went though the manual update. I also had to repeat steps 6-8, but other than that was pretty painless. New dailler is quite a big different.
4/23/2014 9:04:27 AM
yeah the dialer was a bit of a wtf moment initially.
