and Marie talking about taking prenatal vitamins

It's a little shitty that my two favorite shows, BB and Dexter, both have the same plot twist going on in the same month; kinda takes away from the originality. That aside, I don't think Hank does anything to Walt or Skyler right away. I say he stews on it, waiting for the right time to pounce. They showed Walt's scar a few times, so that with the CAT scan definitely means cancer is back in play. So is it death by Hank, or death by cancer? Jesse now seems like a dark horse but I guess death by Jesse is still a remote possibility too. Death by tarantula maybe as a fourth candidate? Death by Skyler or Marie a distant fifth and sixth? There's no way IMO that Walter survives the end of the show.

suicide is a viable option too. we know he has a vial of ricin handy

^^ Two totally different shows though. And its been pretty clear in both shows that eventually Hank/Deb would find out about Walt/Dexter. My only complaint (about both actually) is the way they let them find out. In both cases they just stumbled upon the secret. Deb just happened to walk in on Dexter, Hank just happened to find the book. I think that either Hank should have figured it out on his own through some other means or Skylar should've been the one to tell him. Takes away a lot of character development to have him just randomly discover it. And I still think there is a 2% chance Walt dies. It would make the show completely pointless if he is allowed to just die at the end. Unless it is in some redemptive way, but I don't think he should be allowed to redeem himself either.

that prison murder sequence was one of the most brutal few minutes I've ever seen on televisiongreat finale
9/3/2012 12:19:14 PM
^Agreed, I was cringing during that whole montage. The way they killed each of those guys was just so brutal.

The episode starts with a flashforward to Walter White (Bryan Cranston) in a restaurant, where he celebrates his 52nd birthday alone. Walt, who has regrown his hair, is using a New Hampshire driver's license and an alias. He meets with Lawson (Jim Beaver) in the restroom, where he is given the keys to a car that has an M60 machine gun and ammunition in the trunk.[Edited on September 3, 2012 at 4:12 PM. I hope he kills Hank. And starts a new restaurant
9/3/2012 6:19:37 PM
my prediction for how walt tries to get out of this:gretchen schwartz and her husband, they had the little inside joke of the last name translating to black (black and white = gray matter), her initials are really GS, but she puts GB to be affectionate.hank won't buy it, but it'll at least tip walt off to his suspicion, and he'll skip town immediately.
9/3/2012 8:12:00 PM
What if the reason Walt is getting his gun in the first episode is to go save Hank?
9/3/2012 8:34:38 PM
9/3/2012 8:48:58 PM
did they ever take Mike's body out of the trunk? i think Walt left it in there and Jesse is going to find it then kill Walt
9/3/2012 9:15:41 PM
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you were probably supposed to infer from the fact that they rolled a drum over to the trunk and Landry was bringing out the HCl that they got rid of the body.Jesus.

What amazes me is how many people are having the conversation of "Will Hank really remember from the WW?"It is pretty clear he remembers.

Except the paper towel dispenser was just a shot back to when he originally punched it when he found out he was in remission. He just looks at the dispenser as it was never fixed. It does mean he still has cancer, but he didn't punch it in this episode.[Edited on September 4, 2012 at 8:40 AM. Reason : Not sure if it was s1...maybe 2?]
9/4/2012 8:39:28 AM
^I thought he had done that during his first time dealing with the cancer.
9/4/2012 8:39:43 AM
I swear its amazing to me the level of intelligence in this thread. Clearly that was just a reminder of when he did it the first time.
9/4/2012 9:26:47 AM
i liked the smirk when he realized Jesse was doing drugs again
9/4/2012 9:33:59 AM
i'm happy with the year finale over all but after all this i think the manner in which hank found out is complete bullshit. There is no explaining this one away, especially since Hank can put together all the other signs (car wash, gambling excuses, cars, the watch, etc...). We'll see where it goes. Should be interesting.
9/4/2012 10:16:41 AM
I was kinda hoping that hank was going to take a shit, floods the toilet and then opens the top and finds the 2nd cell phone as the discovery.

9/4/2012 10:31:05 AM
^^Me too. No matter how hard Hank worked pursuing the case, it was blind dumb luck that is going to ultimately result in him solving it, and no matter how smart and careful Walt was, it was the simplest display of arrogance and carelessness that is going to undo him.
9/4/2012 10:38:45 AM
Yeah, definitely a great end for the episode. Definitely an "oh shit" moment when taking a shit. Thought the scene was brilliant, but disappointed that it wasn't the cell phone discovery. I thought it was kinda stupid to reference back to Gale with his hand writing with "To my other favorite W.W." quote. I mean if you are going to do a flash back to the first discovery of W.W. and Gales hand writing... why bother underlining "other" as a reference, seems silly; something for the viewer to get before the flashback discovery, but I'm nitpicking.
9/4/2012 10:48:28 AM
9/4/2012 10:50:37 AM
I'm pretty sure that it happened when he found out the cancer was in remission. That would have been season 2, or possibly season 3. I'm thinking 2 though.
9/4/2012 11:16:40 AM
- walt staring at the fly- the hotel portrait painting- punched-in towel dispensera lot of callbacks to previous seasons. were there any others?[Edited on September 4, 2012 at 11:35 AM. Reason : -]
9/4/2012 11:19:59 AM
^^Even if you didn't remember when it happened why would you make an assumption that it happened during this episode. They didn't show him punching it and the camera just pans to him looking at it. Don't you think if he just punched it now they would show that?
9/4/2012 11:20:08 AM
^no. this show has definitely done some subtle things in the past where they just show the end result and let you assume/infer the means that got you there. in this particular case though, we know he punched it in an earlier episode.
9/4/2012 11:38:44 AM
Warning... being Asian...I see two plot holes in the last episode dealing with the money.1. Not hard to figure out how much money is in the large stack of money with ABA standards. Plus as for weight, you need to account for the weight of the currency strap, but they are all of ABA Standard weight and accounted if weighing is processed. I have came up with that stack being worth around $33,264,000 for being 42 high, 11 wide and 16 across with a 50/50 split of 50's and 20's. Took me all of a few seconds to count the dimensions in the video and give a decent estimate of value to give you an Earthly clue...2. Not enough time has passed to account for the amount of money that was accrued in the storage locker.Based on a few episodes, this is what I have came up with for the business behind the meth. 1000 gallons of Methylamine equals to $300 million worth of meth; their street price was once valued at 45,000 per lb so I'm going to go with that assumption, but has been viewed at 60,000 per lb at one point in a previous season. At 45k per lb, that means their production can make 6666 lbs of meth.Their current P2P cook operation yields only 40lbs worth of product for an estimated 1,800,000 of value. These are the number for each cook.110,000 pest rental25,000 per cook60,000 pest labor/crew54,000 lawyerYou are left with 1,551,000. Then you have to account that half of your product will stay in the SW region with a 35% profit going to his new business partner from episode 7, then the other half goes to Czech republic.SW America:$775,500-271,425 (35% business partner)-155,100 (20% transportation)-155,100 (20% dealer cut)$193,875 profit in USCzech$775,500-232,650 (30% business partner)-155,100 (20% transportation)-155,100 (20% dealer cut)$232,650 profit in overseasSo walts take per cook is $426,525 assuming he is the only take left on his end. I did not factor in Todd's take since they don't talk about it and left it open ended, but assume its a decent amount out of the remaining 426k from walt. This also doesn't factor in other expenses that are not scene, but probably could take another 5-10% from total profits before cut to partners. Now, if we just stay with walts take above, that means he would earn a total of $71,087,500 or 23.69% of the $300 million stake in the 1000 gallons of Methylamine. The end result seems realistic if you say that Walt gave roughly half his share to Todd at some point. Now the issue at hand is that if the pest controllers only tent 1-4 houses a week and they can only make 40lbs per cook (and per week assuming they stick to just 1 cook per week), it would take 167 cooks to go through the Methylamine; the 3 month period from when Skylar went ape shit to when the pile of money was discovered, it is not enough time. Even if they could cook 4 times a week for 3 months straight, there's not enough time to pull the logistics off. That would only be about 28.8% of the 1000 gallons used.Plus they show airplanes as transportation when 'explaining' overseas export of the meth to czech during their montage... like you air freight hazardous materials in 55 gal drums.
9/4/2012 12:36:47 PM
they said something about $2M/week regarding the overseas methmaybe you should czech your math
9/4/2012 1:07:24 PM
my math is sound... its for per cook.
9/4/2012 1:09:41 PM
And what if the meth sells for significantly more in the Czech? Also what if underneath all the cash there are cans of soda.
9/4/2012 1:58:30 PM
9/4/2012 2:37:56 PM
The amount of money still can't be obtained in less than 3 months with their limited production capabilities of 40lbs per run, even if prices in the Czech is double. The highest price in the show was 76,800 per lb.If you figure it takes 24-36 hours or maybe a bit longer for their P2P cook per run and do it non-stop; there's still not enough production. The logistics of moving and selling that amount of meth is still going to take a lot longer than a little less than 3 months, specially if you are talking about overseas sales. Lead times in just getting the product there and the cash back is going to take time, not to mention whatever percentage to transform EU dollars to US.And seriously, they expect us to believe that that amount of physical cash was being moved by walt and Lydia in coffee shop's without walt realizing an idea that he holds onto 10's of millions of dollars worth and they had to pull out a discovery with the un-sheeting of a mountain of cash in a storage locker under Skylar's name with walt 'acting' surprise to that amount? I mean didn't he get all nick picky with their first batch over the 20% for mule cost or close to $300,000 for taking a 'risk'? The guy is good with math and they had to buy a 2nd counter to handle the volume of money coming in. A man of his intelligence would figure it out and know how much net income he would be making since he controls the whole production line.
9/4/2012 2:38:41 PM
I think if one thing has been shown throughout this season is that Walt is slipping and getting cockier. I think he very well could have lost track of how much money he is bringing in. Also keep in mind that not all the money is coming in from Lydia, thats just the Czech money.
9/4/2012 3:00:07 PM
^Even then, he's still delivering the money to his wife through the soda cans... plus... you still run into production issues. He was making 200+lbs per week leisurely when he worked for Gus and that was just for the current SW region.
9/4/2012 3:07:51 PM
I still think Skylar could have hid all the soda cans underneath the money. It seems plausible that she would do it to convince Walt that they had millions, knowing he would be too stubborn to count it all. Knowing it would motivate him to get out of the business and return to being her husband.
9/4/2012 3:13:23 PM
actually, I was expecting Walt to yell at her and go "Bitch, I'm building an empire here! Shut your whore mouth!" when she asked when enough is enough... lol

Hank does have a history of overlooking the law when it suits him
9/4/2012 4:21:58 PM
I think one thing that is going to come into play is that Hank and Walt are secretly the opposite of how they are seen by other people in that while Hank puts on the tough guy image and Walt seems to be the docile intellectual it is actually Walt who is ruthless and heartless while Hank is haunted by violence and has only encountered it on rare occasions. This is going to give Walt the upper hand.
9/4/2012 4:42:57 PM
well walt does have the m60... Can't wait to see that in play for next season.
9/4/2012 4:45:22 PM
9/4/2012 4:48:45 PM
unless walt liked the idea of keeping mike's lifeless body in his nice new car... Actually, he put it in his son's car because he'd rather keep his boot fresh and doesn't like the tree smelling car fresheners. Plus all that extra mike weight keeps his car down when they both drag race; that way walt can claim he wins with "skill" even though he's been driving an aztec for the last 10 years and been in more car accidents than a woman...[Edited on September 4, 2012 at 5:08 PM.
