^ That's all our offense has been since Lowe has been here. He does not have the basketball knowledge to look at what a defense is doing against us, call a timeout and COACH the guys on what they should be doing. I'm almost positive that all he does on the sidelines is whistle and wave his arms around.
12/21/2009 6:50:45 AM
it has been brought to our attention he also claps, which is something good coaches just don't do.

For real

I'm actually not too disapointed in that game.We just shot like ass... 33% from the field and 57% from the line. Had we finished strong at the rim and made some free throws we win that game. One thing not to make challenged shots, but no excuse for missing those layups and open shots (including free throws).Continued to show aggression/energy on defense.
12/21/2009 2:28:10 PM
We weren't real aggressive when we let Aminu drive and dunk like 4 times....but I agree defense is not the problem.
12/21/2009 2:29:49 PM
i noticed at more than one point that we had 3+ true freshmen on the floor last night.I don't expect to win many games in the ACC with that happening....
12/21/2009 2:39:13 PM
Ugh. Smith has been suspended for the Arizona game because he mouthed off about the lousy officials...That sucks.
12/21/2009 2:43:10 PM
we moved up in the ap. 11 votes now. ahead of wake...
12/21/2009 2:45:09 PM
^uhhhh....wat.
12/21/2009 2:48:11 PM
Yes, our freshmen at times looked really lost, but that's as expected. Especially, when Howell and Painter are our only bigs in the game... With Horner not being that altheltic for a big he will be really bothered by some bigger teams. We need some other bigs to step up and fill that void. Horner had 8pts where he averages 14.3.We did recieve more votes today in the AP Top 100. 11 vs 3, baby steps. Wake only had 4, not sure how that works...[Edited on December 21, 2009 at 2:56 PM. Really, what did he do?
12/21/2009 3:06:58 PM
criticized the refs
12/21/2009 3:07:28 PM
Gotcha, just read about it. Yeah solid move by Sid... but could hurt us big time for Wed. However, good experience for the team.
12/21/2009 3:13:40 PM
Karl Hess can suck a dick.
12/21/2009 3:17:06 PM
Pretty stupid move on Tracy's part. He is the one making several dumb fouls including the one that DQed him near half court. The refs in no way affected who won that game. Tracy just played like shit and needs to man up.
12/21/2009 4:34:51 PM
the refs were just bad overall during the whole game. Not so much for one team or the other, just bad overall. Killed the rhythm of the game, although that may have been best for us, cuz theres no way we could run with wake right now.we played like shit last night....shouldnt have been an 8 point game
12/21/2009 4:38:35 PM
I can't decide if Karl Hess refs more of our games than any other ref or if I just notice when he is reffing more with him than any other refprobably the latter
12/21/2009 4:45:28 PM
^^^yup. i was so frustrated with tracy last night, and really this entire season so far. he has no one to blame but himself. he needs to go up strong and stop double pumping and going up so timid. ridiculous how many easy put backs he missed last night, and all season long really. we'll still get the win without him. cue the flaming tat!

^yup. if you actually watch games instead of just box scores, you could tell that tracy smith was going to struggle big time against bigger competition (like most of the teams in the ACC).[Edited on December 21, 2009 at 8:56 PM. Reason : grr]

I've watched every game except for New Orleans. Until last night, I didn't see anything from him to cause anybody in their right mind to be frustrated. Last night was frustrating, but you can't really expect him to be brilliant when he is going up against an equally talented and more athletic player with no one to help him out inside. And since when is a player required to be perfect every single game? Hell, he still averaged a double double...unfortunately he was making too many dumb mistakes on the defensive side (which I'll admit he's seemed a bit weak on the defensive end thus far).If you're frustrated by Smith's performance in the first part of this season, then you should probably just give up and stop watching basketball because your expectations are
12/21/2009 9:03:51 PM
if you are content with tracy smith's repeated double pumping when he's got defenders on his back only to miss easy put backs, instead of going up strong and making (what should be) an easy two, then you are and it's been happening all season, even against the cupcakes there were 2-3 shots a game, where you wonder how in the world he missed that.of course, in the same game, there are 4-5 shots where you wonder how in the world he made it. obviously he's exceeded expectations overall, averaging a double double and all, but it's hard to believe there aren't parts of his game that frustrate you (free throws come to mind as well, as does defense).[Edited on December 21, 2009 at 10:46 PM. ^ Oh, he messes up 2-3 shots a game. My bad. Then by all means be frustrated.Nevermind the fact he is #3 in rebounding and scoring, and top 10 for field goal percentage in the ACC.
12/21/2009 10:51:26 PM
no he messes up 6-12 shots per game.there's 2-3 shots per game against Southern Georgia Tech State College where you wonder how in the world he missed that.and do you think the level of competition could have anything to do with Smith's high fg percentage? maybe just a lil? a lot of money says it doesn't stay that high once we're midway into the ACC season.
12/21/2009 11:06:34 PM
youre an idiot ohmy... stick to a different sport
12/22/2009 12:30:43 AM
haha. i'm not sure what there is to dispute. he's a great player, but to say he's not going to struggle some against ACC competition, ESPECIALLY "with no one to help him out inside," is idiocy. you guys act like just because they are our best players, they're flawless. lol.
12/22/2009 6:09:15 AM
Tracy Smith had a pretty high FG percentage (54%) that stayed high against ACC competition. I'm not sure what you mean by a drop off unless you actually expected it to stay 60% + like it was for the first couple games... He is shooting 55.5% this year, and I expect it will stay in the 54-56% range, although he will struggle some against bigger front lines like last year. He is a beast, but it's hard for his game to work as a 6'8 center against multiple 7 footers. Even Hansbrough had some struggles against legit centers.
