We have KBS at Sitti if anyone is interested... Its pricey to have at a restaurant, but worth it if you can't find it in any stores. We also still have some bottles of Hopslam left, along with a new to us beer called Hopus Ale.[Edited on March 24, 2010 at 11:58 AM. Reason : .]
3/24/2010 11:54:01 AM
I could really go for one of these right now:
3/24/2010 4:29:55 PM
^^don't worry, people will bitch about the pricing of KBS. psst...allocated items are pricey.
3/24/2010 5:09:34 PM
just tried Hopus for the first time... really good, not at hoppy as the name may lead you to believe. Belgian IPA(ish) and strong alcohol notes. I thought of it more as a blonde pislner in taste. Cool freaking glass to drink out of tho.(actually served with a shot glass on this side for sediment dump- or a nice shot of yeast!)[Edited on March 24, 2010 at 5:32 PM. Reason : shot]
3/24/2010 5:31:59 PM
Drinkin' some of this...Been a fan ever since trying out a bunch at their microbrew in Denver. Denver is probably the best beer city in the US that I've been to.

Not sure how long Noble Pils will be out, just had some Sam Adams Summer Ale this past weekend. It's alright, but wasn't all that impressed.
3/25/2010 8:46:29 AM
I'm not so sure how i feel about Noble Pils. Everyone i've ever had has a slight burnt taste that goes along with the hops. Just doesn't do it for me.john kruk, do you always get the specialty glasses with each new beer you order for the restaurant?

Picked up a couple of new Terrapin brews today:AND[Edited on March 25, 2010 at 8:27 PM. Reason : .]

are those in large 750ml bottles or 6-packs?how much?
3/25/2010 8:35:57 PM
The Capt'n Krunkles is a 22oz and it was $7 or $8, Monk's Revenge was a 4 pack and $10I'm going up to DC next weekend, hoping to pick up some Southern Tier, Troegs and Goose Island stuff.
3/25/2010 8:43:03 PM
going to the belgian beer fest at the carlsbad pizza port this saturdayyay for malheur! (and other tasty beers)
3/25/2010 9:09:28 PM
Jeepin4x4 It depends on the beer. Most of the time I can get a glass for a specific brewery no prob. Hopus is trying to market this big frothy head and attract attention from table to table.I did however just get a bunch of dogfish head pint(ish) glasses to go with our new seasonal:
3/26/2010 9:17:11 AM
man i'm definitely having dinner there next time i'm in town. I need to plan a weekend asap
3/26/2010 9:21:40 AM
Like to hear how those Terrapin beers were. I don't generally like Terrapin, but enjoyed their last side project (the oatmeal coffee stout they did with Left Hand Brewery).
3/26/2010 9:25:43 AM
aprihop might be my least favorite dfh beerand living in delaware, every bar you go to has multiple dfhs on tap, its nicein regards to the noble pils, had one last weekend, draft.not a fan at all reallythe only thing i could think of while drinking it is that it tasted exactly what the spent hops i filter from my wort when making beer smell like.kinda curiousand im a huge pils guy
3/26/2010 9:25:46 AM
Drank 9 noble pils last nightSo yeah I changed my tune
3/26/2010 9:26:39 AM
depending on when you are in town, I can get something cool. There were only 8 kegs left of Aprihop when I ordered one. It will probly go on around thursday next week and stay on for almost a week.^^huge pilsner guys dont normally like IPAs from what i have seen. And depending on what year the batch(es) you have tasted, DFH does it differently every year. Certain ones in the past were criticized for being too fruity, so this year they brought back a full bodied hop taste and barely any fruit. (had one last night and it basically tasted like a 60 minute with a smoother finish)i am curious as to what your favorite DFH beer is tho...[Edited on March 26, 2010 at 9:30 AM. Reason : ^^]

mentioned in the other threadfounder's centennial IPA. just plain solid beer. simple, but effective.
3/26/2010 11:07:14 AM
Red Oak bottles are now avail in south Charlotte at Ballantyne's Earthfare!
3/26/2010 11:25:17 PM
I'm having nothing fancy. Just a Blue Moon. It was on sale, and it's pretty decent. I have no complaints about it.
3/27/2010 2:14:16 AM
tried the Aprihop last night, thought it was damn tasty. I heard they toned down the sweetness from the past couple years.
3/27/2010 10:55:53 AM
Aprihop, Black & Blue, and a Sierra Nevada 30th Fritz & Ken are all waiting for me in the fridge.last night I had Highland Seven Sisters and Stone Old Guardian at FS. The Old Guardian had some bite to it. Also had Lagunitas WTF. That was a damn fine beer.
3/27/2010 11:32:25 AM
Lagunitas is making some kick ass stuff, most of what i have had has been higher gravity but still damn tasty.Speaking of high gravity, I had a Founders Nemesis again. Good lord did it start off strong (but at 12% what can you expect). As it warmed up it mellowed out tho.I would recommend it to anyone that hasnt yet gotten into the bourbon barrel aged beers out there. This one is maple syrup bourbon barrel aged and darn good too.
3/27/2010 1:30:40 PM
Decided to try some Hoegaarden last night. I think I made the right choice.
3/28/2010 9:43:13 PM
Tasty, especially for $6.99 a six pack.[Edited on March 28, 2010 at 10:11 PM. Reason : .]
3/28/2010 10:10:07 PM
Found yesterday at Total Wine - definitely a fan, except for the $12.99 price tag.
3/29/2010 9:18:22 AM
i think i drank some Sam Adam's Imperial White last night 10.3% ABV w00t
3/29/2010 9:20:44 AM
i wish shipping on glasses wasn't so expensive
3/29/2010 9:11:06 PM
^^ I had that before. It was quite good, and expensive.
3/29/2010 9:17:25 PM
^^lemme know what kind of glasses you want, maybe i can get them delivered here for free and you could get them next time you're in raleigh.
3/29/2010 10:03:15 PM
having one of these at the moment:It's easily the best of the TJ's private label beersI'm heading to DC at the end of the week, and hopefully picking up some of this:and this:

Picked up this book over the weekend and have been reading it every chance I get. I'll be the first to say i dislike pretentious beer snobs, but I love knowing more about the makeup of each beer style and tasting notes and a little history and about each beer style. It's chock full of good photos and keeps the terminology and explainations down to earth. And it's not just one of those "100 beers to try before you die" lists. I recommend it.

is there someone on here that posts on BeerAdvocate as silverOrlead?
