Cut me some slack. I just got into this whole thing. :p I, too, read that morning glories are best planted in Spring but they are scooting right along. Once they grow up some and I see which seeds germinated I can add the mulch which will greatly aid in water retention. My goal with them is to cover my balcony railings since they love full sun and are easy to maintain.

god this is sad:my GF got me a cactus that grows into a heart for our LTR...when I got home, I watered it like she said to, only once a month, let the water run through. I left it at my parents home while we were up at our cabin for 5 days. I come home, half the heart is deflated/rotten and the other has a crack in it. Do I tell her what happened or do I buy another one and keep the silence
7/16/2009 2:14:52 PM
present her with a new one as you tell the story about the old one.

i have all these little white insects covering the leaves of one of my pepper plants. they're really really small. do i need to get rid of them and how should i do it?
8/3/2009 9:31:01 AM
Whiteflies.
8/3/2009 10:35:58 AM
do they pose a problem? if so, what do you suggest as a solution?
8/3/2009 10:39:09 AM
The suck the juices out of the leaves. If there are enough of them, they can damage the plant.Go to a garden center and get an insecticidal soap to spray on them to kill em. I beleive they have both organic and non-organic stuff you can use.FWIW, I've got them on my tomatoes and I'm just letting them go. The plants seem to be doing alright enough.

so would like walmart have this kinda spray?also, i tossed my tomato plants b/c they were turning brown and all the tomatoes had blossom end rot anyway. now i have two empty pots and a bunch of potting soil. any suggestions on something edible in can plant in there that'll live through the winter? i have rosemary already. some more herbs would be cool.
8/3/2009 11:26:29 AM
Target and Walmart have organic insecticidal soap spray that is safe to use on veggies.
8/3/2009 12:00:09 PM
cool. thanks.
8/3/2009 12:13:56 PM
so there are these wasp-like flying insects on the plant eating the whiteflies now
8/4/2009 4:57:11 PM

I've got somewhere around 100 peppers off of two jalepeno plants. I've just about run out of ideas of what to do with them, with like 40 left in the freezer and 40 still ou ton the plants.
8/14/2009 8:59:50 AM

My container garden dropped dead while I was in America. Who knew three weeks without water would kill off my plants Better luck next year I suppose.
