It may have been said in one of the threads from the earlier seasons but why was NC chose as the setting for this series? I like all the references to stuff like Carowinds and Myrtle Beach.

I think a big reason is because some (all?) of the original creators/directors are from NC (Concord, Wilmington) and went to NC School of the Arts.

there are also pretty hefty tax exemptions that NC has, but other states dont. Also part of the reason so many big movies have been shot here (Iron Man 3, Hunger Games)

I think HBO is missing out on a giant piece of marketshare by not offering HBO Go as a standalone service. I know there has to be a metric fuck ton of red tape and politics that are preventing them from doing it, but once they finally figure out how they'll join the ranks of "Shit I no longer pirate because it's too convenient and aggressively priced" services with Netflix, Spotify, and more or less Steam.

^Yep, I agree. I don't have any cable service, and I'm definitely not interested in blowing $100+/month just to catch EB&D or GoT and a bunch of shit channels I will never watch. But if I could pay $10-15 month for HBO GO access, I could easily justify that cost.

Season 1 is fucking brilliant

Seasons 2 and 3 had their moments, but were kind of letdowns

this season has been closer to Season 1 than the others

1 was amazing, I agree.
2 was definitely the worst.
I really liked 3, especially because it's set in Myrtle Beach.
This season picked up a bit slow but is hilarious now. It feels like a half season, I can't believe it ends this week.

at the end of season 3 they go to his plantation where he has people run from civil war cannons he shoots at them and he basically outs himself as a racist in front of the black biker gang and you pretty much assume they kill him.

hope he did survive and makes some sort of appearance
