^^yes there's an ad block now. I decided to try out chrome. It's still much slower than firefox with ad block plus, but I'll install the Chrome ad block and see if that speeds it up. Why aren't the favicons showing up in my bookmarks bar? FF/IE shows each website icon, chrome just shows blank white pages. This might be a deciding factor. I don't want a bookmarks bar with a bunch of white icons on it.-another annoying thing. the url bar wouldn't search by default. I had to go to options, then default search then create a search using: http://www.google.com/#hl=en&source=hp&q=%s&aq=f&aqi=&oq=&fp=cbc2f75bf9d43a8fThis seems really stupid. Why wouldn't it search google by default?[Edited on January 2, 2010 at 6:58 PM. Reason : ,]

Logmein doesn't work well in Chrome. First of all when you try to fullscreen logmein it just fullscreens it within the chrome window, not actually full screening. There's a few other bugs too. Anyone found a work around? I don't want to have to bring up IE or FF just for logmein.-also my multitouch forward/back on my touchpad don't work in chrome but work in IE and FF.[Edited on January 16, 2010 at 12:59 AM. Still waiting on Silverlight/Netflix Instant Watch support. Also for some reason anchors don't work in Chrome. That's annoying. All that being said, I still use it as my main browser.
1/16/2010 1:00:09 AM
Some more issues I have. Logmein still doesn't work just right with full screen. Also Chrome's full screen option sucks. Nothing pops up when it's full screened like FF so unless you know all the shortcuts for forward/back etc you can't do anything. I know that's big a big complaint among reviewers. Also I opened a big forum on both chrome and FF and it was almost impossible to scroll fluidly or at all using Chrome whereas on FF the scrolling worked fine. Also for some reason Flash beta 10.1 isn't loading videos that well on Chrome compared to FF. Chrome also uses a lot more ram than FF on my netbook. I want to use it as my main browser but until all these problems are fixed i'll stick with FF.
1/21/2010 7:02:50 PM
^^I'm not sure why silverlight/netflix doesn't work for you, it works perfect for me on chrome, both on the latest stable and the beta

gotta have extensions?I'm guessing the greasemonkey scripts I was using in FF aren't compatible in chrome?
2/20/2010 11:53:39 AM
anybody else's mouse hesitate/react slowly in chrome? I'm trying to see if it's extension related... may be adblock... only does this in Chrome
2/20/2010 5:56:28 PM
^^Greasemonkey scripts install as extensions straight into Chrome. Don't know if it's all of them or not but what I've tested works.^ Using it on Vista & Snow Leopard with adblock and don't have any mouse/trackpad issues. What other extensions do you have installed?
2/21/2010 12:22:06 PM
^thanks.... I got one GS script to install but the others are just opening up instead of installing.I've gone through them one by one... I still think it's adblock... I also have to refresh pages to see youtube videos when adblock is enabled. ]
2/21/2010 12:38:48 PM
Yeah, you've lost me then. I haven't had any issues with adblock other than blocking out the battery finder on adorama.com. Have you tried to putting youtube.com in as a site to not block to see if it helps?
2/21/2010 3:18:24 PM
Looks like Chrome is starting to make an impact.http://gizmodo.com/5483131/firefoxs-chrome-ceiling

Chrome is going to gain hugely on FF once the major video sites go HTML5 with h.264
3/1/2010 9:39:49 PM
Chrome still doesn't support synaptics forward/back three finger swipe which is what most laptops have. If any of you guys have run into this problem if you hold the alt key down then do the motion it works. Weird they haven't fixed it yet.
3/1/2010 10:20:48 PM
^didn't even know that existed. there are easier ways for me to go forward/backward (backspace and shift backspace)
3/1/2010 10:36:46 PM
^not if you're using a laptop. Easiest way to back/forward is with the pad (assuming you're already using the pad while browsing). Backspace would involve moving your entire right hand to the backspace then back to the pad. Instead of just using the pad.

ive noticed a weird problem with crome + tww (but i'm sure it only happens to me)when i click pretty much any internal link on tww, after the page fully loads, the load animation thing keeps going for another 3-5 seconds, and while that's happening, i can't do anything...can't type in the reply box, can't page down, can't click another link etc...until the page stops "loading" (even though the page is fully loaded already)don't notice this same behavior in any other browser, and i've tried reinstall the latest release and beta versions, but no dice *sigh*
3/1/2010 10:44:26 PM
Yeah there's a lot of little bugs with Chrome that i can't get over and switch. FF 3.6 for me. For example full screen on Chrome sucks. Mainly for apps like logmein. Takes up more ram than FF too. Not good for my netbook.
3/1/2010 10:48:57 PM
Lately, TWW is killing me on chrome. Nearly every page I go to causes it to crash. I can reload and it usually loads right up. Occasionally it will crash again but never 3 times in a row. As soon as I get done and hit back, it'll usually crash again. Actually, not crash but that damn "Aw Snap" error page. I haven't changed anything recently (when it started). I've narrowed it down to some kind of ad or something that's affecting AdThwart. It runs perfectly if I disable it.MBP running 10.6.2Chrome 5.0.335.0 dev Anybody using something other than AdThwart & AdBlock that works and doesn't cause TWW fuck-ups? (Note that I haven't noticed an issue at work running on Vista)[Edited on March 2, 2010 at 8:11 PM. Reason : forgot, AdBlock does the same thing.]
3/2/2010 7:55:40 PM
^Ok, I thought it was just me, but yes, same problems but on Chrome 4.1.x and I'm not running AdThwart--although I am running AdBlockIt's definitely an ad (or ads?) that's crashing it, I just haven't spent the time to verify who the culprits are.[Edited on March 2, 2010 at 8:04 PM. Reason : .][Edited on March 2, 2010 at 8:26 PM. Reason : For the record it happens on both my laptops, which are WinXP SP3 and Win7.]
3/2/2010 8:02:27 PM
I'm on 4.1.249.1021 beta (40167) and have no troubles with TWW
3/2/2010 8:11:59 PM
^Are you using some kind of ad-blocker? OSX/XP/Vista/7?
3/2/2010 8:55:21 PM
I'm using chrome 4.1.249.1021 unknown (40167) (why does mine say unknown? anyone else's say that)? and I have adblock running and no issues with TWW on windows 7.-ok scratch that. it seems now i'm getting the woops error page a lot on the tww. due to adblock? Anyone else running Chrome on Mac OS X and can't delete bookmarks? If I try to delete a bookmark it crashes the app.
3/21/2010 5:01:24 PM
Should've had Windows and Firefox.//thread I had to do it!
3/21/2010 5:03:07 PM
I'd rather have Safari / Mac OS X FF is too slow and bloated.
3/21/2010 5:07:17 PM
I just don't feel like getting use to another browser. I try Chrome every now and then, but I just can tide over to it. Word on the block is that IE9 has really stepped its game, and personally I'm an IE fan, so maybe I can make this switch if its as good as they say it is. The thing I like about FF so much is kinda trivial, and that is you can just have the favicon of your bookmarked site on your live bookmark bar without having to have text beside it saying what it is, and this saves lots of space, and its more aesthetic to me.[Edited on March 21, 2010 at 5:22 PM. ^5 Golovko, I am and don't have any issues. I am on the dev build though so that may be why. I did have that issue several months ago but I don't remember when/why it stopped. I only recall that it was brief.^Whatever the problem was is gone now. Lasted about 2 weeks or so and then quit. I don't know if it was a change in TWW's ads or an update in AdBlock.
3/21/2010 7:02:43 PM
started using chrome in windows 7 over firefox. its pretty fuckin awesome.but on mac safari is best, even theres no adblock or addons period. i used to use firefox as my main browser in mac os, but like golovko said, its too goddamn bloated and such.google for president
3/30/2010 9:02:51 AM
seedless, you can do that in chrome too...
3/31/2010 6:19:05 AM
one they get a full version of firebug working on chrome I'll probably switch full time. Both firebug light and the developer tools (like in safari) just don't do it for me.

has anyone been having issues with Flash in Chrome? After updating to Flash 10.1, Flash just doesn't work in Chrome I always get messages like "you need to upgrade your flash player"

It works fine in ubuntu, but when I was doing it on windows 7 for whatever reason I had to install it [flash] twice.

Is there a good ad blocker in Chrome yet?
6/13/2010 2:02:28 PM
Adblock plus is available for it. Really wishing tab mix plus was available for it though.
6/13/2010 3:34:42 PM
^^^^apparently going to 10.1, it's advised to use a registry sweeper like CCleaner to remove the old version of Flash first before updating.
6/13/2010 3:42:45 PM
Pinned tabs is what keeps me on chrome
6/22/2010 12:23:11 AM
^^^, ^^^^ An AdBlock Plus like extension is available for Chrome, but it doesn't have anywhere near the same flexibility for making custom filters. If you just subscribe to filter lists, it's fine. If you're like me and you like to build and maintain your own filter list, you'll find it vastly inferior to the firefox offering.

How do you set the default mailto client to gmail? I'm fixing my friends laptop and every time he clicks on a link it tries to open up windows live mail.

try Wrench--Options and change the default search to googlenot sure if that's related to the default email, but try it
