is this going to be your only car?

if so then i doubt you'll be tracking it anytime soon or later.

just buy something you'd be comfortable in.

werd.

so what are you trying to get out of this car?

so im assuming you want something performance orientated. how far are you trying to go here?

you've gone through like 50 different cars. and its all because people on here dont like them.

dont end up with a car someone chose for you and you're gonna hate it.

btw GET A CIVIC!

Nothing wrong with a red two tone interior. My dad's silver '05 model rocks it quite nicely.

This is finally the first smart car you've shown interest in. If its mechanically sound, go for it.

only weird noise i remember mine making was a clunk when going from reverse to forward (or vice versa). tightening the axle nuts to the updated spec helped, but it never totally went away. never had any problem, though.

only other weird noises were supercharger whine, slight resonance in the Comptech exhaust in a couple of spots, and a little bit of chatter in the blower's bearings when it was cold.

Yeah well, this thing isn't boosted obviously...

the bad noise occurred whenever I pressed down the gas pedal, and the power transferred to the transmission, it was a short squeal that sounded like it was from a bearing

Mine does a little whistle when I first get on the gas. It goes Whuup! and then it takes off. At first I thought I should be concerned, but nah.

Man, I hate it when salesman dick you around.

So, the G35 I'm looking at in Wilmington. I start the dialogue with the salesman on the 7th of April.

On the 8th he writes:

Quote :
"An associate of mine told me a little while ago that he had a Marine from Jacksonville coming in on it tonight so you'd better come on if you can. I know this sounds like a sales tactic but we don't play those games here. If you're very serious about it and want the car we can get it done."

Surprisingly enough, the vehicle did not sell!

The salesman keeps contacting me every few days, assuring me of "the best buying experience" I'll ever have. He keeps asking me when I can head down to Wilmington to take a look. I finally lay it out for him a week later:

Quote :
"I'll get straight to the point, I suppose. I know with taxes and fees, the total price right now is looking around $21,000. That is more than I would like to pay for the vehicle. Would you be willing to let this car out the door for the advertised price of $19,972? I can head down this weekend."

And his prompt response:

Quote :
"Another client advisor has someone in that car. They've been working on the deal since yesterday, I'll let you know what happens."

I wonder if this will pan out... let's wait two days. Oops, another e-mail received today:

Quote :
"The other guy couldn't get the car due to financing... so I'll speak with the boss soon as he gets out of his meeting and get you a price. Be Back with you soon."

What a shocker.

FWIW, you can also use the "same tactics" with him/them. Let them know that you aren't headstrong on getting this vehicle. Just like they have other people looking at that one car, you are keeping your options open and looking at other cars as well. Don't let him fool you into thinking they are doing YOU a favor. They wouldn't be in business if it weren't for consumer demand. You are doing HIM a favor by taking your time to go look at the vehicle. As you stated, give him an ultimatium of the deal so that you don't waste your time going to see the vehicle. If he can't do that, say that you'll gladly look at other vehicles until you find the one that fits your style and budget. Take the power out of their hands and make them work for you.

There's my 2 cents.

if you see a stealthy grey rx8 barreling down the road and approaching your rearview over 90 mph with the heralding sounds of trance music seeping from the fully downed windows...
