YES, you're talking to one right here. We're not all in it to git us sum A-rabs. Read the officer's oath of commission - I try to take that stuff very seriously. And it just happens to be the same one the President swears when he gets inaugurated.

Just get drunk. If you throw up you can attribute it to too much alcohol.

we are just doing southport to wrightsville but I don't know if we are gonna be going out on to the "open seas" or not. If we stay on the intercoastal I imagine I will be fine but if I get on anything over 3-4 feet I might be in trouble

also do all girls cut their hair really short like a boy. or can it be short but not that short. my friend just did her basic training and is going to naval intelligence school and she is now rocking the boy cut. if my hair has to be short i would still like it to be cute not hideous

not all the girls cut it short. as long as your hair is neatly kept up when you're wearing a cover (hat), you're alright.

[Edited on April 18, 2008 at 1:55 AM. Reason : i'd give it a 5.2]

I've noticed in the USMC that there is a very large contigent of right-leaning libertarians (myself included).

Some things would have to really, really drastically change. Our Navy is like an order of magnitude (or maybe two) more kickass than the nearest competitor. The gap is pretty staggering.

i hear it's pretty sweet...on the occassions when it's working.

Yeah, there's truth to it. I'm sure the tradition has become more PC and watered down than it used to be, but it's still done (and it's the equator, not the PM)...I can't think of what the whole ordeal is called, but it's something about being a pollywog/"wog". I think they throw nasty shit all over you and do some other stuff. Apparently it's a real helluva mess.

No, it's different from the President's. I'm pretty sure it is the same as the VICE President's, however.

I don't know why I though the President had the same oath.

The oath of office for Senators, Congresmen, and the Vice President IS the same as our military officer's oath.

President's reads:

"I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Same gist, really.

I read the oath once, but then my recruiter fucked my over and I blew out both knees in the interim.

My military career ended with me owing the goverment for my ~30 days of health insurance between signing the papers and not shipping off to Fort Knox.

No, or at least it would be one helluva frame job (prob would be easier ways to get the person kicked out).

You can be gay in the military, (especially the Navy ) anyway. The UCMJ doesn't regulate sexual preference. You just aren't allowed to bone other dudes.

Well done!

It wouldn't work for me because I would get commissioned, get hammered somewhere, and then cut a man in twain with my sword.

I asked why the brits didn't use angled flight decks, but then I realized that they do, but theirs are little faggy angled flight decks.

Or that ski jump shit, which is just stupid.

Yes. I'm a Naval Officer-In-Training

but as a Marine of any rank is a Marine, so is a Sailor.

and yes, I have been out to sea.

I really don't know.

I don't know their capabilities, nor their strategy.

You can ask this guy:
