^^ yeah, i think that's "fired", though, meaning as soon as production starts again, most or all of them will immediately get their jobs back. of course, there's no telling how long the strike goes on for, and i guess it's not really any consolation for those people not getting a paycheck

11/16/2007 9:08:02 AM
I thought the episode was good, not great. On par with the rest of this season

Pam wouldn't lie to us i believe her, if she says the next one will be the best.
11/16/2007 12:58:05 PM
michael more fits the british version where he isnt supposed to have redeeming qualities when he interacts with toby. he asks to sit down w/ toby, toby lets him and is trying to be nice and michael just continues being an ass.

A lot of people are writing letters (I've written and sent mine) and here are some good guidelines if anybody else wants to.http://www.officetally.com/call-to-action-write-a-letterand this is still the most informative article I've seen online about the strike. It looks like both sides are going back for more negotiation on November 26th!
11/17/2007 11:53:42 AM
i support pam's tits
11/17/2007 8:29:18 PM
me toobut that episode was the worst of the seasonlike another poster said a few pages back, let's keep shit in the office, i get tired of a new adventure every week that either really works (like the karen's office sabotage) or is pretty meh (like this week)
11/18/2007 10:30:50 AM
most of the "out of office" stuff sucks, but this weeks was really really fucking good.
11/18/2007 10:49:45 AM
I think the reason this week's "out of office" experience was so good was because it didn't necessarily have to be out of the office. It was mostly the same characters, and they just sat around a table and talked the whole time, kind of like they do inside the office. There was nothing outrageous about them sitting around and talking, and that is where The Office is at its best.

his divorce?
11/20/2007 9:32:40 AM
I don't think it was a "random event"Toby works is HR so he works for corporate, so he's the only person in the office that Michael isn't the boss ofSo Toby isn't part of the office 'family'...also he's divorced, so he's not part of of his own family either
11/20/2007 9:43:14 AM
ok well I realized it's not one event, but Toby always stomps on all his "wonderful" ideas...i.e. shooting down michael's idea for alcohol at a partyMichael would get (and still does get) all excited about random ideas he comes up with, then Toby steps in and speaks up against itThe revelation of his hatred in the first episode of the 2nd season "Toby Flenderson is everything that is wrong with the paper industry" is one of my favorite parts of all time (if I missed him talking shit about Toby prior to that, it wasn't as funny)
11/20/2007 10:45:54 AM
yeah, he always is the downer for michaelhe cancelled his credit card when he was using them for magic tricks, and then didn't want to pay for his hooters lunch, didn't want alcohol at the vegas night, etc
11/20/2007 11:01:21 AM
Toby is the man and the relationship between him and Michael is hilarious to me.Michael is always a dick to him and it gets to me every time. Remember when he didn't let Toby go to the beach trip. Poor Toby

From Jenna Fisher's myspace blog:

its not that toby is a downerits that toby is HRif you are out of school and have a corporate type job and deal with HR in any capacityhe is the character embodiment of HR at every companyits not that he's being a dick, he is being his job's reputation[Edited on December 20, 2007 at 1:55 PM. yea the director's guild getting a deal in a week with no strike while the writers guild has already taken months and used a strike may show that the directors guild has smarter negotiators but i dont think it should lead you to believe that the writers guild will be wrapped up anytime soon. the writers guild decided to play hardball and the networks realized that they can live for awhile without them, so they have the upper hand.
