12/7/2007 12:32:25 PM

almost bought it tonight, drunken decision...411 ~> walmart "Sir do you mean the game or the set?"Yeah, This game is so awesome i want to spend 60 dollars to play it with my two handheld controllers."Sorry, we're out of the sets"
12/8/2007 2:44:34 AM
had a ton at best buy today...i am killing some drums these days
12/8/2007 4:07:42 AM
^^ you can use the explorer or les paul with it on the 360 and play guitar/bass.also, you can use a headset to sing. the only thing you need the set for is the drums.
12/8/2007 12:12:33 PM
^true...but who buys rockband strictly for the guitar aspect
12/8/2007 5:40:51 PM

Ive never played drums before, so I cant tell if my drums are broken, or i just suck.Sometimes it seems to register two hits, or not at all, but I cant tell if its because I dont know how to play drums properly or not.I have a feeling the two hits are when sometimes i hit the drum with the tip of the stick, and my arm keeps going down, and i hit the side of the drum with the body of the stick, does that make sense?
12/9/2007 1:40:27 PM
i feel by red is faulty, especially on rolls...plus if i just sit there before a song and beat on the red it doesnt seem to register as fast or as many hits as i am doing...i think i probably will send in the guitar and drums for new ones...then sell the guitar because i simply dont use ithas anyone done the felt mod or the mouse pad mod?http://generationgamerz.com/v2/insight/time-for-rock-band-arts-crafts.phpor http://www.joystiq.com/2007/11/29/cheap-mod-quiets-rock-band-drums/also thinking about picking up this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Rock-Band-Bass-Pedal-Reinforcing-Plate_W0QQitemZ280180879252QQihZ018QQcategoryZ122517QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem[Edited on December 9, 2007 at 2:36 PM. 12/9/2007 7:44:41 PM
^^ no worries. your hardware will fail after a couple of hours of playing and you will be back to studying.

ughhad to use the strat last night bc my les paul batteries finally died (for the first time)i got used to it, and it is actually pretty effortless to play single note strandsbut chords are an abortion on it.i guess i'm just so used to that comfortable click i get to let me know i actually strummed, rather than the spongy feel of the strat that is hit and miss like a motherfuckeralso my roommate got our first drum noise complaint, time to start looking at mods[Edited on December 10, 2007 at 8:55 AM. Reason : ~]
12/10/2007 8:54:13 AM
I actually prefer the Strat for rockband...Admittedly, it isn't as precise as my GHII controller, but I'm not playing rockband for precision, I'm playing to have an awesome time rocking out with my friends. The strat looks and feels more like a Real Guitar and the downside to that is it feels less like a Guitar Hero Controller. I'll admit that I've missed notes before that I probably wouldn't have if I had that nice precision strum, but I'd trade that any day for the fun that is tapping on the "solo" frets or not having to hear that distracting click. That said, when I play Guitar Hero by myself I'd prefer the old controller, but again that's because I play that for a different reason than rockband.

$50 dollar bucks, tomorrow with your American Express CardGo herehttp://mywishlist.amexnetwork.com/#hp/117602601

12/10/2007 9:41:55 AM
my time off for christmas can't come fast enough, I'm ready for a 6 hour Rock Band marathon. And the pure joy of making my dad sing another song he doesn't know that's way outside his range
12/10/2007 9:43:31 AM
12/10/2007 10:57:01 AM
so you found something that will keep them on longer than half a song
12/10/2007 11:02:53 AM
i just signed up for my replacement guitar. should be here in 2 days. yay! hopefully it'll actually work better. next i think i'll put in for a new drum pedal.
12/10/2007 12:05:08 PM
4 copies in full at Gamestop on Battleground Ave in Gborowas there about 20 minutes ago
12/10/2007 1:22:46 PM
Snapped my drum pedal last night, so I went ahead and RMA'd the pedal. Guitar was going out so I sent that back too. Anyone know if the replacements are in any way improved or reinforced?
12/11/2007 8:24:26 PM
the pedal I got back feels the same as the previous one ... I guess I'll keep sending them back as they bust ...
12/11/2007 8:33:38 PM
this is the answer for your drum pedal breaking...http://cgi.ebay.com/Rock-Band-Bass-Pedal-Reinforcing-Plate_W0QQitemZ280182773822QQihZ018QQcategoryZ122517QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
12/11/2007 11:22:28 PM
I'll probably do something like that once warranty is up. I guess I'll just keep sending them in until then if they keep breaking.I like this guy's fix http://community.rockband.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=13984
12/11/2007 11:27:36 PM
just got mine today.i've read some in here so i think everyone has said this but the guitar is a complete piece of shit.I can't play any songs above easy because it won't register quick strikes on the guitar. will they fix that or is the consensus just use the guitar from GH3?
12/12/2007 12:02:54 AM
sooooowho wants to invite me over sometime to play??[Edited on December 12, 2007 at 12:09 AM. Reason : ill bring beer]

12/12/2007 12:14:57 AM

12/12/2007 12:16:22 AM
i think im going to do the drum mod today
12/12/2007 11:53:35 AM
So hopefully they get the idea that the guitars/bass pedals aren't the highest quality and will release better ones in the newer editions of the set.
12/12/2007 1:14:13 PM
got some rubber cement last night and it works great. still haven't taken pictures.
12/12/2007 2:12:48 PM
you do the mousepad or felt/foam?
12/12/2007 2:56:31 PM
I don't get the complaints against the guitar. Mine feels fine and I have no problem with harder songs (95% on Enter Sandman Expert). We taped down the red pad so that it's almost fully compressed and it registers every hit now. Just need to do something about the noise, when my roommate fucks up it throws me off...
12/12/2007 3:08:24 PM
^i just found out where your name comes from
12/12/2007 3:30:41 PM
^srsly?
12/12/2007 3:43:28 PM
i did the thin neoprene mousepads
12/12/2007 4:04:03 PM
Ok, I haven't read the whole thread and just got Rock Band this past weekend. However, what's the best way of going about getting a new guitar?? The downstrums most definitely do not all register. its fine on easy as i can just strum upwards, but anything past that is tough without strumming both ways.
12/12/2007 5:55:50 PM
warentee info comes in it. just long on give a cc they send you a new guitar u send back old one w/in 28 days and they don't charge cc anything.guitar is shit, i think everyone all agrees but new ones suppose to be better.

Just made some pads from cheap $3 mouse pads from office depot. They work great, no loss of feel but they are easily half as loud. I just have them taped on right now, I'm not sure I want to permanently affix them to the drums.
12/12/2007 11:13:39 PM
rubber cement can be a permanent or temporary bond, depending on how long you wait after applying it to the mousepad before you put it on the drum. pick up a bottle and read the label. for a temporary bond, it'll roll and peel off easily.
12/13/2007 8:53:42 AM
Thanks, I'll do that.
12/13/2007 2:20:46 PM
this looks like the best topic to ask this question.i'm buying a wireless guitar controller for guitar hero 1 and 2 as a christmas gift. is there a brand that makes a better wireless guitar? i've seen some that look like real crap for $30 and then nice ones from better brands in the $30-70 range. good brands or specific models to buy is what i'm looking for. i just don't want to buy a crap controller that conks out in a month since i'm having to order and ship it.
12/13/2007 5:55:42 PM
you must be talking about ps2...there's no 3rd party guitars for ps3/360
