Alright so my draft is tomorrow and I got 4th out of a 12 man league.Assuming the top three go1. LT2. S. Jackson3. LJWho should I go with at 4? I Suppose its between Gore and Alexander but Im leaning towards Gore right now.Im also shopping this pick out for someone looking trade up too.
8/25/2007 12:05:16 AM
Gore
8/25/2007 12:11:34 AM
GoreI would avoid LJ like the plague even if he drops to 4
8/25/2007 12:14:47 AM
I have a draft today and I've got the #6 pick. Should I go with Addai, Westbrook, or Parker?
8/25/2007 4:39:19 AM
I'd go with AddaiWestbrook would be my second option, Parker would be my 20th option
8/25/2007 7:57:51 AM
I got Gore in the 7th round last year (14 team league). And Rivers in the 10th.I need to find some value this year as well.
8/25/2007 11:05:31 AM
i need some help dealing with a trade. i've been offered this:maroney, rivers, and mark clayton for peyton manning and jones-drewthe thing is i'm not THAT excited about having jones-drew on my team (considering he has to share carries with fred taylor). and i would love to have maroney (especially after seeing him last night against the panthers) but then again i would be giving up peyton for rivers, which would be tough. even though i love rivers.. it IS peyton manning.any suggestions??
8/25/2007 4:23:28 PM
that trade is not good enough
8/25/2007 4:38:03 PM
IMO, rivers and maroney together are better than peyton, so go for it
8/25/2007 4:38:40 PM
doooo it.
8/25/2007 4:59:32 PM
no waydude you can get better than that
8/25/2007 5:46:54 PM
yeah I wouldnt do that tradeyou're going to have to drop someone to make room for Mark Clayton, so that might actually hurt you if you have to drop a decent player. I'd either ask for a better WR from his team and add in a scrub WR from your team, or get rid of Clayton from the deal and get a better player than Maroney or Rivers (if he has one on his team)[Edited on August 25, 2007 at 5:54 PM. Never trade Manning unless you are getting waaay more in return than you are giving up.He threw 3 TD's in the first half tonight. I really think this could be close to a repeat of 2004.Not as drastic, but this will be a very, very good year for him. Do not trade him.
8/25/2007 9:32:19 PM
gotcha^^ thanks man
8/25/2007 10:11:59 PM
Schaub looks like he will be a decent starter. I suppose he could be a sleeper player.Don't know about any other of this year's Gore, Cotchery, Rivers, etc.[Edited on August 25, 2007 at 10:25 PM. Reason : sdf]

Alright here is the team I just drafted with 4th pick in a 12 man leagueQB: D. McnabbRB: F. GoreRB: T. JonesWR: Chad JohnsonWR: L. ColesTE: K. WinslowKicker:M. StoverDefenseOak BenchJP LosmanL. Dont know if Ill be in the hunt in the end, Im thinking this is a middle tier team.[Edited on August 25, 2007 at 10:47 PM. Reason : asd]

^damn, that's always bad when you don't feel good about your team RIGHT after the draft lolYour team is a contender IMO if Gore plays 16 games. Winslow is a terrific talent at TE who could be the next Gates (although probably not Gates level until next year because of the QB situation, but he'll still be great). I'm not as high on McNabb or Jones as some people, but this is still an above average starting lineup for a 12-teamer.RB depth is very thin, although I love Betts, you'd probably like to have him as your 4th RB so you're not relying on him if Portis gets more carries than expected. Parker is probably not worth owning, since he is out the first 4-6 weeks, I would drop him for a high-potential RB since you already have solid depth at WR anyway.[Edited on August 25, 2007 at 11:04 PM. ^yea I kept on trying to get another RB but everytime it was my turn it just seemed like there was fucking nothing out there. Parker was my very last pick, I couldnt really decide and it was rather moot at that point anyways.I got Winslow in the 7th round so I was pretty happy with that. My draft started out alright but I dont think I finished very strong. Hopefully I can pick up another RB or just hope that Portis kills himself. If Mcnabb and Gore stay healthy I think I have a chance but thats a pretty big if.
8/25/2007 11:32:59 PM
In a 12 team league I have the following:QB: Palmer (bench: Leinart, Quinn)RB: Bush, McGahee (b: j. lewis, chris henry)WR: Driver, S Moss (b:galloway, holmes, welker, jenkins, ginn)TE: V. Davis (b: McMichael)K: NugentDef: Minnesota I'm pretty damn happy about that
8/25/2007 11:54:20 PM
^I would be happy too, nice
8/26/2007 12:26:18 AM
looks like you had way to many rds.You only start 1 QB, 2 RB's, 2 WR's, a TE, K, & Defense, but yet you had 18 rds!thats alot of freaking drafting. Our live draft today has the same setup, but with 3 WR's, and we are only drafting 15 rds.I think less is more when it comes to rounds, because it increases the talent available on the waiver wire throughout the season. The last thing I want is some knucklehead who wont stay on top of his team drafting someone in the 17th rd who turns out to be this year Colston, but he just sits on the bench every week.great team though!
8/26/2007 9:56:46 AM
Got this in a 12 team round. 11 of 12 I believe showed up for the draft, but were surprisingly incompetent. Backups in parenthesis.QB - Matt Leinart (Eli Manning)RB - LaDanian Tomlinson (Brandon Jackson, Chris Henry)RB - Thomas JonesWR - Steve Smith (Jerricho Cotchery, Jerry Porter)WR - Plaxico BurressWR - Reggie BrownTE - Dallas Clark (Marcus Pollard)K - Neil RackersD - Baltimore

We just drafted our 10 team league on ESPN. I had the 8th pick to start the draft and ended up with this teamQB:Matt LeinartRB:Laurence MaroneyRB:Reggie BushWR/RB:Brandon JacobsWR:Reggie WayneWR:Issac BruceTE: Vernon DavisDef: DenverK: Jeff WilkinsBench:Adrian PetersonMichael TurnerSantonio HolmesCalvin JohnsonChad PenningtonCowboys DMatt SchaubWhat do you guys think?
8/26/2007 9:49:45 PM
that team looks pretty good.Just for looks, you need to put Bruce on the Bench and put Calvin in his spot. Bruce is a #3 WR on a team with many weapons this year. You wont get much production out of him this year, and even if you do, it will be incredibly inconsistent. Also, whats the deal with 3 QB's? Pennington? ugh.On a different note, let me just say how much I cannot stand hybrid postions such as RB/WR.I'm not exactly sure why, I just dont like them. I guess thats why I never use ESPN though.
8/26/2007 9:57:40 PM
Anyone play in 14 team leagues?
8/26/2007 10:01:50 PM

Panthro why do you think I should start CJ over Santonio Holmes?
8/26/2007 11:23:35 PM
I think schaub > pennington
8/26/2007 11:32:39 PM
Maybe on an individual skill basis I could see why Schaub > Pennington. He's got a strong arm, decent mobility, and can read defenses. Andre Johnson is the only legit threat on that offense though. On the other hand, Pennington has got Thomas Jones, Cotch, and Coles plus mangenious pulling the strings. Not to mention the Jets O-line >>> Texans O-line. I like chad's situation a little more, but I believe Schaub is naturally more talented.

^ Foster that late is a great pickup. Your WRs are a bit lacking but that's not a bad team at all.^^ I agree with Ribs. The Texans did improve their team but are lacking true weapons and still need work on their O-Line. It depends how well A Green will play to help lessen the load for Schaub but if they are behind alot it may help fantasy wise, as they are always down and need to throw.[Edited on August 27, 2007 at 10:24 AM. doesn't sound good about Holt, might miss the first week
8/27/2007 10:35:07 AM
^^ Misread team. Your team is pretty good IMHO. I didn't notice you had both Holt and Williams. You should be fine. As long as Kitna and Williams work out as a good combo or even Chad and Cotch would work too.
8/27/2007 11:25:00 AM
I mean, I think it's a pretty good team, but the guy picking #7 (I was #6) stole like 3 picks from me right before I was going to take them.

do most leagues NOT draft DBs/LBs/DL and shit? im not seeing em in anything I'm readin in the thread (granted only read the last page)
8/27/2007 1:54:51 PM
^I know the Viva La Bagel league has individual defensive players. A standard Yahoo league tends to have a QB, 3 WRs, 2 RBs, a TE, K, and a team defense with how many bench players left (around 5-6).
8/27/2007 2:17:44 PM
the winners of my league are always decided by who has the best defensive playersright now i'm wondering who to start at DB:chris hopepolamaluasante samuelAsante is no longer holding out, so he will play for the Pats this year. i'll come back later and do DL, because I have no idea who is who on the D-Lines... and our system is kinda weird (3 DL spots, but you can put 2 LB's in)

my first draft in 22 minutes...2nd pick in a 10 team league...def grabbing Steven JacksonSuggestions for my 2nd pick at 19th overall?
8/27/2007 5:24:12 PM
Go WR, WR after Jackson if a stud RB isnt available. That will give you someone like S-Jax, T.O. and Reggie Wayne. Then come back with picks 4 and 5 and either take go RB/QB, or RB/RB.
