(8)Low temperatures in the 20s the next few nights in North Carolina in AprilAny of the blind faith global warming proponents want to try and explain this?
4/6/2007 2:49:21 PM
Yeah, and it snowed up here in NYC last night, but don't worry the world's ending.
4/6/2007 4:36:06 PM
it was 90 degrees today in Charlotte in the year 1929but omg this is by far the hottest year in world history
4/6/2007 4:52:05 PM
didn't you say numerous times before that you're not questioning whether there is global warming, but whether it's caused by man. but you make these dumbass posts?
4/6/2007 4:58:00 PM
These people must be stupid or hallucinating?http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/6524325.stmhttp://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/6532323.stmHere is the report they (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)) released today:http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/bsp/hi/pdfs/06_04_05_climate.pdfAnd this is pretty cool:http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/in_depth/629/629/6528979.stm
4/6/2007 5:01:47 PM
^^wow you're really this dumbyou must be referring to "global warming" as "increase in temperatures"why dont you with all your infinite knowledge explain why its gonna be in the 20s tonight[Edited on April 6, 2007 at 5:06 PM. Reason : .]
4/6/2007 5:06:13 PM
because small blips in weather are fairly irrelevant to the global climate.
4/6/2007 5:10:07 PM
yet a 1.7 degree increase over 100 years isnt a small blimp on the geologic timescale?
4/6/2007 5:11:33 PM
perhaps on a geological time scale. i'd rather the human race not be a small blip as well.
4/6/2007 5:12:41 PM
so once again you go back to your "well...even if we're not fucking things up, shouldnt we help the environment?"
4/6/2007 5:14:09 PM

This year is still on track to be one of the warmest in history, despite tonights cold snap. That said, anyone who assumed "Global Warming" is a uniform phenomenon is wrong. The earth's poles will warm up a lot, while other parts of the world will get a little warmer or a little colder.
4/7/2007 3:25:19 AM
i heard something like all the developed nations will not be affected as much as like south america, asia, and africa, and i kinda was like "good"
4/7/2007 3:29:03 AM
^^how is it "on track to be one of the warmest in history" less than 4 months in?i like the "other parts of the world will get a little warmer or a little colder." part thoughreally covers all angles..."well you see global warming is actually causing it to snow in april"]

NC Breaking Cold Weather Recordshttp://www.charlotte.com/115/story/77539.html
4/7/2007 7:20:55 PM
Point?
4/7/2007 7:21:59 PM
why is it so cold if humans are causing devastating global warming?
4/7/2007 7:22:46 PM
I would have hoped better from you. Leave the stupidity to the likes of hooksaw, tke-teg, and the other host of close minded nay-sayers.
4/7/2007 7:36:07 PM
4/7/2007 7:41:23 PM
i just want one of the alarmists to try and explain why we have record cold temperatures in springit should be pretty easy given how well they all completely understand all the earth's processesi've been agnostic on the issue from day one...just figured somebody could explain why its oddly so cold a couple weeks into springwhen it was 68 degrees in january they were all over threads like this pointing to the current weather as evidence...i hope they would try and explain the current weather]
4/7/2007 8:04:57 PM
^record cold temperatures. You explained it yourself
4/7/2007 8:22:22 PM
i dont understand, someone needs to explain it to me
4/7/2007 8:29:10 PM
4/7/2007 8:38:19 PM
i agreei would just like to see those same people explain the current weather
4/7/2007 8:39:04 PM
Let me take a crack at this:TreeTwista10: "why dont you with all your infinite knowledge explain why its gonna be in the 20s tonight"This has already been addressed:sarijoul: "because small blips in weather are fairly irrelevant to the global climate."Proponents of global warming (GW) are wrong and short-sighted to claim heat waves are GW in action. Skeptics of GW are in turn wrong and short-sighted to claim record cold fronts prove GW is a farce. It's not that one side is right and the other is wrong. They're both making stupid arguments. This is the equivalent of watching stocks rise and fall on a daily basis. You don't buy a stock because it did well on a specific day, week, or month. That's just silly. Neither do you sell a stock because it happened to tumble on a specific day, week, or month. What matters in this case is the longterm. A 30-degree drop in one day in North Carolina means precisely diddly squat. It's not even worth mentioning in debate. It's a waste of breath. Similarly, a record high temperature isn't worth shit either. However, a world-wide average temperature increase of 1.7 degrees is significant. I'm sorry, but I doubt anyone here has the appropriate knowledge needed to know what the effects of a 1.7-degree increase will have worldwide. All I know for certain is this: It is not something we can laugh off or dismiss as irrelevant. Doing so is not only stupid, it's downright irresponsible.Oh and this winter has, despite the efforts of two cold fronts, been pretty mild:Lumex: "This year is still on track to be one of the warmest in history, despite tonights cold snap."Additionally, having an overall warmer climate naturally leads to more dynamic weather conditions. That means more hurricanes, longer droughts, and more severe temperature changes. This would include unexpected and significant cold swings by the way...[Edited on April 7, 2007 at 8:49 PM. ^hey look...about 10,000 years ago the temperature appeared to increase about 3 degrees in just 150 or so years]
4/7/2007 8:59:06 PM
I mean reallyscience has yet to cure the common cold, cancer, aids, etcbut yet many of you are like, OMFG THESE SCIENTISTS ARE RIGHThow do you people have so much faith that they are right... or wrong, who really knows at this pointjesus christ, the leader of this whole movement isn't even a scientist, he's a politician
4/7/2007 9:18:37 PM
so now al gore invented global warming?
4/7/2007 9:23:36 PM
he certainly helps to get the THEORY out there to the masses
4/7/2007 9:25:57 PM
Damn that Issac Newton for getting that other "theory" out to the masses. You may denounce 1 or 2 degress, but if you notice it only took 4 to put us in an ice age.
4/7/2007 9:37:52 PM
are their any graphs that show before like 18000bc?i'd like to see what it looked like before it was -4c on that graph
4/7/2007 9:39:19 PM
damn that isaac newton for owning a company that profited off selling "gravity credits" and if you'll notice humans werent around to influence those temperatures...yet we are arrogant enough to think we have control over everything!
4/7/2007 9:39:32 PM
Because it's easier to sit on our hands instead of being responsible for what we are putting into the atmosphere (and ocean). 3% may just be 3% to you but it's 3% that we can do something about. And what happens as more nations become industrialized? The it's not 3% but more like 7-10% we're dealing with. But that's okay, by then it will be someone else's problem.
4/7/2007 9:51:48 PM
thats assuming its a problem in the first place which it may, or may not, be
4/7/2007 9:59:27 PM
And what wouldn't be the problem with increased desertification, warmer oceans, drought, increased disease/pestilence?
4/7/2007 10:15:25 PM
there would be plenty problems associated with those POTENTIAL things you mentionedyou are assuming that those things will happen if we keep living life the same way...i'm not assuming those things will happen or not happen if we continue living our lives the same way because nobody knows, its just speculation]
4/7/2007 10:19:06 PM
Yes, the report written and approved by 2500 scientists from 120 nations is wildly biased. Treetwista knows far more about geology, weather systems, and climate change in general.Despite the fact that he cannot understand the concept of a mean annual temperature.
4/7/2007 10:29:01 PM
scientists are infallible geniuses, they are never wrongits wrong to be skeptical of them since they are the only perfect humans around...we should put scientists on god-like pedestals since they are literally perfect and have never been wrong about anythingthey literally have a full understanding of everything related to geology, weather systems, and climate change in general...there is nothing scientists even question anymore since they already know everythingnatural human skepticism and curiosity should be immediately silenced and eradicated when it comes to sciencescientists are so smart in fact, that they've already come up with solutions to completely reverse global warming]
4/7/2007 10:31:29 PM
It's not like I'm talking about one dude. When a community this large can put together a cohesive report with the conclusions pointing, generally, in one direction, and the person arguing against their position is too stupid, too ignorant, or too busy trolling to be able to understand on such a simple level what they are even talking about, well, it's not hard for the rest of us to even come close to taking him seriously.
4/7/2007 10:37:55 PM
so you're saying you believe humans are causing devastating global warming because of the way you feel about me personallysounds like you are talking about one dude...meif you're going to disagree with my simple skepticism of a bunch of humans having a current consensus hypothesis, at least do it because of the data they present and not because you disagree with me...cause that is pathetic]
4/7/2007 10:38:45 PM
4/7/2007 10:41:52 PM
yes i would prefer you tell me how increased pestilence and drought right now are being caused by anthropogenic climate change since you have such a comprehensive knowledge of all those interrelated processeslet me ask you this...a few decades ago, the vast scientific consensus was that the earth was going through a period of cooling, and future forecasts suggested severe drops in temperature, lowered sea levels, etc...and they have clearly been wrongso why are you so adamantly convinced that they are right this time with their predictions?or do you still incorrectly think i'm some type of global warming denier instead of just a neutral skeptic who realizes the limitations of science and isnt satisfied with a bunch of predictions that may or may not come true 50 or 80 years down the road when none of these scientists will be around to see it?]
