I put my broken front stay bar on the tree of shame, rather I gave it to ppl to put it on there so the next time I go out there, I need to look for it. Plastics are with bojan so I need to get up with him later. I lost it halfway in the dragon in this one nice long sweeping 15mph curve. Went in nice, accelerated at the apex nice, and lost it right at the end of the curve for no apparent reason. My front tire just slips right under me.

sounds like you might have hit a little patch of dirt, piece of gravel, etc.

not uncommon for it to be thrown into the road up there by vehicles cutting corners to close or too wide.

nah, I checked the road, Didn't see any gravel or sand on the road, but I didn't really check that hard since so many people racing on the road... I have a few pictures of where it was with the evo's on it. Let me dig them up.






This is the curve I went down out. I was going the opposite direction and laid it down where mark (red evo) was in the 1st picture; actually a bit back where the curve started for him. At the end of the curve. I'm trying to get a hold of the camera guy that was parked there and see if I can get some pics from him.

Currently got 500 pics, down from 800, lots of bad shots that someone kept taking... **cough cough angel** its about 2 GB now. Still need to look through about 250 more. Those pics are just cropped and not edited correctly for color yet, so when I play with the contrast, they'll look even better.

And btw, thats taking pics in another car, sticking my head out the window and hold on for dear life. Try taking pics when your accelerating through a curve at 1.0+ g's. I'm suprised I even got some shots focused. Also, with SLR's, you have to look through the view finder, not like simple point and shoots. So try looking through a small viewfinder when you go through the dragon. Tuff and scary shit.. haha

I was playing with that camera (30D) that the guy had at that curve where I wrecked. He had a nice 75-300mm telephoto lens. I so want it now. I actually want one that goes up to 400mm so I can some nice long shots for when I go to track days and take some nice pix. Need to figure out how I'm gonna sell that idea to my boss... "yeah.. we need to take some portrait pictures of people from 100 yards away..."

hey mark, I think I left my back protector in your car. Just picked up my fairings from bojan. Also kyle, bojan had your liner, I have it now.

Also, everyone that took pictures, PM and get up with me tomorrow afternoon and I can swing by or meet somewhere so I can grab them. I'll bring my laptop and 10-in-1 card reader to just copy them fast. I'll compile a DVD with all the pictures and start burning copies. Also need to know how many copies to burn.

A split second before this, his rear end of the car was in mid air and making the car a tripod. If I had a video, you should have saw how nicely his trail breaking skill was to reorient himself. We were about 50 yards back so I didn't have the camera ready.
