no, i love funny stuff. it sucks that two of my favorite shows are becoming lazy shit by their own standards. yeah, curb and south park are still better than 94% of all comedies on tv, but they aren't nearly living up to their own standards.

that's so inaccurate and stupid of you to say. south park was so much more than that. it had subtlety; it had real spirit; it had fast-moving and balanced episodes and somewhat realistic characters. trey parker must be exhausted creatively (and who can blame him), because i'm pretty sure i could have written season 11 so far, had i wanted to write such bland crap.

That's exactly what disappointed me about the crap episode. It was such a departure from the smart writing as of late.

the only downside of this season was the imagination trilogy, which got old.

the naggers episode, tourettes episode, and guitar hero episode were all genius

I really thought they'd show the real list and Kyle would still be on the bottom.

IMO, that was the weakest effort of the season

while still funny, it was a bit predictable, especially with stan vomiting

still funny though, especially when kyle took off that kids glasses

^I really enjoyed all the imagination land ones. If you catch the dozens of movie references and social references you just can't stop laughing.

^sure it's fun to see how many character references you can point out, but beyond that they were pretty terrible

^Most people i've talked to seem to really like the imagination land trilogy, and it's not just character references. It's movie references, social/event references. It's just great how Matt and Trey can sneak in shit everywhere and twist the plot around it. I guess in my opinion the plot structure of those three episodes were just so well thought out.

-I mean come on, it referenced two of the greatest sci-fi movies of all time. The Abyss and Stargate!

i did laugh when they were showing the team to go thought the gate, and then the showed kurt russell as the leader.... but other than a few laughs here and there, this season really hasn't been doing it for me like the past seasons. the plots are slowly heading in a direction that's on par with family guy, a show that south park has often made fun of. it just doesn't seem like they're putting out good, coherent episodes anymore, just looking for excuses to throw in random pop-culture references for shock value (a very family guy-esque feature).

^Yeah you're right about the pop-culture references. They need to chill out with those. Don't want it to turn into family guy.

-So who here remembers what The Abyss reference was?

i think tonight's episode was refreshing since they went easy on the pop culture references and didn't overdo the cinematic drama like they've been doing. there is still a town of south park! hooray!

I didn't really think much of the imagination trilogy... it's much funnier when they base the humor on their established characters rather than random pop culture references. Really the only up-side to the imagination episodes was the cartman vs kyle ball-sucking struggle.

Tonight's episode really sparkled with me, though.

I think that imaginationland would have been better as two parts instead of stretching it into a trilogy.

I have really really enjoyed every episode so far this season... the trillogy kept me hanging... guitar quero was so true it was hillarious to me... and then the list is definitely my favorite so far...

The list seemed to be mostly based on 4th graders behavior as opposed to a rip off of something(please don't dissapoint me and tell me that was just a rip off of something I haven't seen)... sure the shooting scene at the end was a bit of a rip off, and it was slightly mocking all of the recent school violence... but in general the list making stuff really reminded me of elementry school and how rediculous that stuff was with the girls...

^I saw it more as an allusion to governmental corruption. Elected officials voting on bills and such, but altering them so that they benefit somehow. And in the process they inevitably screw somebody who didn't deserve it, but these people don't give a damn who they hurt.
