i think dad hates anything that's funny, judging from this and the cye thread
11/14/2007 3:29:52 PM
yeah i really hope they do something about the WGA strike soon...they are excellent at lampooning hollywood
11/14/2007 3:31:03 PM
no, i love funny stuff. it sucks that two of my favorite shows are becoming lazy shit by their own standards. yeah, curb and south park are still better than 94% of all comedies on tv, but they aren't nearly living up to their own standards.

the only downside of this season was the imagination trilogy, which got old.the naggers episode, tourettes episode, and guitar hero episode were all genius
11/14/2007 4:41:16 PM
I guess the trilogy didn't sparkle with you.
11/14/2007 10:22:20 PM
what movie are they spoofing?[Edited on November 14, 2007 at 10:26 PM. Reason : ??]

the puke quality is much higher now
11/14/2007 10:30:14 PM
hahaha kenny just as the pop-tarts popped out
11/14/2007 10:30:19 PM
I really thought they'd show the real list and Kyle would still be on the bottom.lawl @ butters "#11" shirt
11/14/2007 10:32:36 PM
did anyone catch where jimmy and timmy were on the list?
11/14/2007 10:35:19 PM
no...where
11/14/2007 10:40:45 PM
wasn't jimmy #11?
11/14/2007 10:48:37 PM
nah, that was butters
11/14/2007 10:50:49 PM
i think timmy was like 10th, he was right above butters[Edited on November 14, 2007 at 11:02 PM. Reason : i think jimmy was close][Edited on November 14, 2007 at 11:02 PM. Reason : ]
11/14/2007 11:02:02 PM
either jimmy or timmy was one step ahead of butters at 10, don't remember which one, already deleted
11/14/2007 11:02:15 PM
Butters is the greatest.
11/14/2007 11:03:54 PM
I meant #10 on my jimmy post. my bad.
11/14/2007 11:14:31 PM
is that the end of the season?
11/14/2007 11:26:20 PM
butters is pretty much the best character they've ever created
11/14/2007 11:33:46 PM
IMO, that was the weakest effort of the seasonwhile still funny, it was a bit predictable, especially with stan vomitingstill funny though, especially when kyle took off that kids glasses
11/14/2007 11:42:58 PM
It's like they've been reading this message board and basically gave all you haters the middle finger...in case you didn't notice
11/14/2007 11:53:17 PM
I almost died when Abe took Kyle home.
11/14/2007 11:57:22 PM
this episode was still way better than the imagination land ones, the crap one, the guitar hero one, etc...
11/15/2007 12:00:50 AM
^I really enjoyed all the imagination land ones. If you catch the dozens of movie references and social references you just can't stop laughing.[Edited on November 15, 2007 at 12:03 AM. Reason : ..]
11/15/2007 12:02:28 AM
^sure it's fun to see how many character references you can point out, but beyond that they were pretty terrible
11/15/2007 12:05:07 AM
^Most people i've talked to seem to really like the imagination land trilogy, and it's not just character references. It's movie references, social/event references. It's just great how Matt and Trey can sneak in shit everywhere and twist the plot around it. I guess in my opinion the plot structure of those three episodes were just so well thought out. -I mean come on, it referenced two of the greatest sci-fi movies of all time. The Abyss and Stargate![Edited on November 15, 2007 at 12:20 AM. Reason : .]
11/15/2007 12:10:48 AM
i did laugh when they were showing the team to go thought the gate, and then the showed kurt russell as the leader.... but other than a few laughs here and there, this season really hasn't been doing it for me like the past seasons. the plots are slowly heading in a direction that's on par with family guy, a show that south park has often made fun of. it just doesn't seem like they're putting out good, coherent episodes anymore, just looking for excuses to throw in random pop-culture references for shock value (a very family guy-esque feature).
11/15/2007 12:36:55 AM
^Yeah you're right about the pop-culture references. They need to chill out with those. Don't want it to turn into family guy. -So who here remembers what The Abyss reference was?
11/15/2007 12:40:27 AM
i think tonight's episode was refreshing since they went easy on the pop culture references and didn't overdo the cinematic drama like they've been doing. there is still a town of south park! hooray!
11/15/2007 1:58:42 AM
I didn't really think much of the imagination trilogy... it's much funnier when they base the humor on their established characters rather than random pop culture references. Really the only up-side to the imagination episodes was the cartman vs kyle ball-sucking struggle.Tonight's episode really sparkled with me, though.[Edited on November 15, 2007 at 3:08 AM. ^^^ "Live, damnit, you've never backed down from anything in your life, now fight, FIGHT, FIIIIGHT!!!!"
11/15/2007 9:04:51 AM
I think that imaginationland would have been better as two parts instead of stretching it into a trilogy.
11/15/2007 3:46:23 PM
^perhaps they did that on purpose with all the trilogies out there that the third episodes were just not necessary
11/17/2007 7:10:31 AM
I have really really enjoyed every episode so far this season... the trillogy kept me hanging... guitar quero was so true it was hillarious to me... and then the list is definitely my favorite so far...The list seemed to be mostly based on 4th graders behavior as opposed to a rip off of something(please don't dissapoint me and tell me that was just a rip off of something I haven't seen)... sure the shooting scene at the end was a bit of a rip off, and it was slightly mocking all of the recent school violence... but in general the list making stuff really reminded me of elementry school and how rediculous that stuff was with the girls...
11/17/2007 9:46:14 AM
^I saw it more as an allusion to governmental corruption. Elected officials voting on bills and such, but altering them so that they benefit somehow. And in the process they inevitably screw somebody who didn't deserve it, but these people don't give a damn who they hurt.
11/17/2007 9:51:27 AM
i enjoyed this season, but im a die hard fan till the end. in the list episode, did you notice that after kenny died.....some pop tarts came out of the toaster. that was so funny
11/17/2007 4:53:53 PM
cmon people, it was obv just spoofing conspiracy/corruption films in general
11/17/2007 7:04:49 PM
weak episode, besides abe driving kyle homeand when kyle asked ike if he was ugly, and ike just looked at his parents like, "is this dude serious?" hahaha
11/18/2007 10:25:22 AM
^ I found the part where kenny got shot to funny
11/18/2007 5:30:09 PM
