I get about 260-280 miles per fill up. I USED to get 200 or less. But of course I do tend to drive speed limit or 10 over and don't floor it to out accelerate the car next to me at every light...unless I have to get over a lane.

That sounds about right.

Though I get gas as soon as my light goes on since I've already had an...incident.

^^^ haha, i think my light was on by about 185-190 miles. hell, maybe before that.

i'd been driving around on dangerously worn tires for about a week (didn't realize how badly the inner shoulder of the fronts had been worn until i got a flat and pulled one of them off). i thought they were just nearly bald, so i just took it easy in the rain. when i realized that they were barely hanging on, i pussyfooted around as much as i could (plus i was riding on the donut).

then i got new tires mounted about a week ago, and i've been driving the car, ummm, as nature intended ever since, making up for lost time and getting it out of my system.

no, I'm not retarded, but I did lose it yesterday, so I'm sorry. It just upsets me that I am continually denied a forum for talking about cars. I have my choice of either classmates who aren't at all technical and quickly lose interest or I have internet yuksters whose idea of conversing is a battle royale of tearing one another's analogies apart rather than raving without a care about cars. And I feel like I owe you a straightforward and calm explanation of why I detest the evo.

1. It's a very good car
2. It was made from a very bad car
3. It underwent this transformation without changing the things about the bad car that move it toward being a good example of how to improve cars in general.

3 explained: Applauding the evo's development is to encourage a trend that merely amps up complexity and cost of poor cars in an attempt to find the inner "better" car, when there often isn't one to be found. fwd to electronic awd, underpowered 4 to laggy, overboosted 4, sorry interior and NVH at an appropriate price without improvement while doubling the price... these are trends that are only tolerable an applauded on the evo. Part of appreciating cars in general is to find things you want to encourage across the broad spectrum and applauding them when they are incorporated into revised models, not by the endless succession of the latest hp/$ champ. Which is closer to the epitome of what a car should be: a neon srt4 or a lotus elise? light weight, minimum inertia, clever build... these are things to be encouraged and applauded.

I don't hold the sti as much of a violator because its a wrx * 4/3 without changing the character rather than a lancer * 3 and attempting to find something other than a faster lancer.

I want to elaborate on "3" more, but I bet you're already tired of reading, given what I know of your posting history, so I'll just let it sit at that unless you reply that you genuinely want to read more.

having said all that, I feel that to continue to be honest, I do think you are a total douche in these forums, at least to me, and maybe that's because you simply identify me as "that guy that doesn't like my car." You think all I wanted to do yesterday was attempt to explain myself? Who wants to do that? But if all people do is try to break down your logic, then what are left with?"

Forgot I had this in my inbox lol....if someone wants to go through it and tell me if its a 'good' read or not.

I like how you sent that pm to the one Evo owner that couldn't effectively counter the retarded assumptions you make.

There's quite a distinct heritage behind the Lancer Evolution. The two cars may share the same underlying chassis and interior bits, but thats about all they share. The target audience of the Evolution has never been the type of person that would find a Lincoln LS attractive or even mainstream American automotive tastes in general. Yes, I will toss your choice of vehicle as a mark against you because you claim to be an automotive enthusiast yet you drive a car whose only exceptional quality is that it is exceptionally boring.

Which really brings me to your root argument. You seem to be against the dogma of taking regular sedan and making spectacular which short of building a pure sports car, is what every manufacturer does. Had Ford applied that to your car, then instead of driving one of probably three cars that actually depreciates faster then an Lancer, you'd drive a car that most of us would at the very least respect. I also would like to point out that your root argument of "shouldn't try to make shit cars better" is in direct contradiction with some of your "car recommendations" you made in another another which included American makes that are just as boring and uninspiring as the car you currently drive but nonetheless spruced up versions of their even more pathetic base models.

I think the real issue here is that you don't like the Evo because you don't like Golovko. Thats fine. However, you most definitely picked the wrong car to try and pan as a "a trend that merely amps up complexity and cost of poor cars in an attempt to find the inner "better" car, when there often isn't one to be found." because the Evo is better at what it does then any other car in its segment and cars a couple price tiers above it.

Anyone else notice that when you drive behind evo's it smells like its running no cat

maybe its just because i don't have a roof, but the only cars I've been behind that give off the same beautiful scent didn't have cat's

a 14 gallon tank in a civic would have a 500 mile range, that would f'n own
