I liked it. Good blend of humor and action. I wish they would have shown him going after some more terrorists... that scene was awesome. I would have liked more of that.

RDJ is supposed to show up in the Hulk movie as Tony Stark[Edited on May 4, 2008 at 9:49 PM. Reason : ]

Hulk still looks lame tho[Edited on May 4, 2008 at 9:51 PM. Reason : and even though Iron Man was good...the plot was the same as the 1st Hulk with different characters]
5/4/2008 9:50:21 PM
hulk would have been a 1000x better movie if it were just jennifer connolly jumping up and down on a trampoline for an hours topless
5/4/2008 9:53:15 PM
from what i've seen in the previews, the cgi in the hulk does not impress.
5/4/2008 10:42:46 PM
So I never read/got into any of the Iron Man comics... two questions about the original storyline:1) Does the general public know that Tony Stark is Iron Man?2) Does the character Iron Man generally go after international threats like terrorism or does he deal with petty criminals as well? Like Spider-Man has his super villains but he also goes after the little guys too, is it the same with Iron Man?
5/4/2008 10:56:40 PM
What the hell do you people expect? It's hard to do a 15ft-tall wad of muscle without resorting to cgi.[Edited on May 4, 2008 at 10:57 PM. Reason : not directed at ^]
5/4/2008 10:56:49 PM
^the original hulk from way back in the day didn't do CGI but it doesn't look as badass as this hulk
5/4/2008 10:58:59 PM
^^ i'm not expecting them to not use cgi, of course they're going to use cgi. i would just prefer that the cgi look good.
5/4/2008 11:07:47 PM
well i mean you are comparing their CGI to the actual real hulk. of course its not going to be exact.
5/4/2008 11:09:09 PM
what are you talking about?
5/4/2008 11:32:18 PM
5/5/2008 12:03:38 AM
5/5/2008 12:35:05 AM
apparently they are releasing a new iron man series this week that seems to pick up where the movie leaves off
5/5/2008 6:32:56 AM
^^we will see some of that in the sequel when Stark delves into depression and James Rhodes (Terrance Howard) takes the Mark II suit and becomes War Machine for a short stint.
5/5/2008 8:13:13 AM
5/5/2008 8:33:35 AM
i've got no real interest in the Hulk. I'm sure i'll see it regardless but ever since i was a little kid the Hulk has always been my least interesting superhero.
5/5/2008 8:44:51 AM
^^^when he was in Stark's lab I was sitting there saying to myself, "come on man, just put it on." I was really hoping war machine would make an appearance.
5/5/2008 9:18:07 AM
Except he wouldn't have had one of those blue, glowing, do-whackies to power the suit.
5/5/2008 9:25:25 AM
wasn't even the war machine suit anyway, but yeah, you're right.[Edited on May 5, 2008 at 9:37 AM. Reason : .]

the chest piece power unit doesn't have to be implanted in ones chest....
5/5/2008 10:28:20 AM
^Addressing a post, or just a random FYI?
5/5/2008 10:31:39 AM
That thing that Bigman posted is pretty cool, the CGI actually looks quite good.
5/5/2008 10:50:40 AM
i think he was addressing your post. But the more i read your post i think you meant that he wouldn't have the power unit at that moment...b/c there were only 2 at that point of the story. the original in starks and the stolen unit in War Mongerand just to add b/c i typed it originally the suits are designed specifically for Tonk Starks. in the comics Rhodes starts to gain side effects from the war machine armour's cerebral interface. It causes him to go on a disillusioned rampage. Thus causing stark to become Iron Man again to stop war machine.(side note: i believe that may be the plot of the sequel)[Edited on May 5, 2008 at 10:53 AM. Reason : add]
5/5/2008 10:50:53 AM
Yeah, my point was that there were only 2 power units, not that the guy didn't have a power unit in his chest -
5/5/2008 10:55:52 AM
ahhh yeah, true
5/5/2008 10:58:49 AM
over 100 million dollar bucks
5/5/2008 1:03:30 PM
5/5/2008 1:51:57 PM
^^^^ i think the plot of the sequel will either one of 4 things1) what u said about war machine going crazy and ironman shuting him down - but that was basically the plot of this one hims fighting his older armor.2) they address the part of the comic where the armor takes over him and starts killing on it's own3) they introduce a villain(mandrin?doom?ultron?) and he needs war machine's help to take him down. 4) a combination of #1 and #3
5/5/2008 2:20:11 PM
^You don't think Nick Fury will play a bigger role given the extra clip after the credits?
5/5/2008 2:22:54 PM
^^those are all good options. I read a lot of stuff about this movie and its pre-production life. The entire cast is signed on for 3 movies which is awesome. John Favreau said that he struggled with finding a villain for iron man. Mandrin is one of the more known from the comics but is somewhat dated and tough to bring to life on camera (especially for the first movie, trying to stay as grounded as possible and his origin/powers as fantasy as they come). I think they did a great job with the villain in the first and I agree that we will see an inner struggle in the follow-ups and maybe even Crimson Dynamo before its all said and done^what i've read is that with these new batch of Marvel movies they are clausing the contracts for the casts to appear in a final Avengers/SHIELD movie bringing this "current marvel universe" together as one. And that it will be an 'all or nothing' deal. either each character is played by the original actor or the movie will never happen. My opinion, I do think we will see a bit more Nick Fury, but not as much as we may think.[Edited on May 5, 2008 at 2:28 PM. Reason : add]

Saw Iron Man yesterday. 7/10. On par with the Spiderman movies. I wanted to see a little more action.Don't forget to catch the scene at the end of the credits.

After the credits spoiler>>>>>>>>>>****************tony stark walks back into his house, samuel L is waiting there, lets stark know that he is Nick Fury, head of SHIELD, says that Stark doesn't realize that he is not the only super hero, and wants to talk to him about the Avenger Initiative
5/7/2008 8:18:33 PM
ha the people we went with were pissed we made them sit through all those credits for some bs they didn't they was important
5/7/2008 8:56:10 PM
I thought it was good, but not great. I don't see how anyone could say it's better than Spider-Man 1, 2, or X2.Downey was excellent as Stark and made cheesy lines work, although i could take or leave his conversations with his machines. Here's the scene after the credits (in poor quality) if anyone else wants to see it:
5/7/2008 10:07:02 PM
most definately better than any spiderman, i never understood why people were so phyched about spiderman, i might have to put this as the #2 hero movie franchise behind batman
