Who else could they have respected? It's not like Brees had many other weapons after Horn left the game.Bush had his first good game out of twelve. Again, **one out of twelve.** For any other rookie, the other 11 middling-to-bad games still mean more to anyone who has a voice regarding this stuff. To ESPN and other ridiculous sports media outlets, one game out of twelve completely validates their pre-professional opinions of him and negates the other 11 games.

^^ I think a lot of people would agree with you there. That doesn't mean the analysis that the other person wrote of the game was anywhere close to accurate. That's all...^ again, that is my point. Pred25 was saying they DIDN'T do that, which they clearly did if you saw the game at all. I'm not arguing anything else from anytime this year. Just this past game..[Edited on December 4, 2006 at 8:17 PM. Reason : x]

you will never see bush run up the middle=wr
12/4/2006 8:25:44 PM
and another point of contention I made, here and elsewhere, was that when he finallly had that big game, this exact thing would happen - that is, the people who support bush come hell or high water would come back with the gloating shit like they have a leg to stand on. the worst of these threads was deleted at saintsreport.com, it was so tacky. but there have been others.it's like no one is allowed to offer up constructive criticism because then you're labeled a hater. Michael fucking Vick gets this exact same treatment from his loyal fans and as a Saints fan, to think that we're doing the same with Bush fucking disgusts me. Someone there posted this and I agree on all counts, this was written Oct. 31st:

The only rookie stat Faulk and Bush compare on is Fumbles. The two shouldn't even be mentioned in the same catagory at this point.I think Bush will be a good player, but he is always going to be a screen pass catching/diversion/reverse handoff/short pass catching/a few carries type of player(and will end up having big games against garbage defenses that can't tackle or run). A creative coach will keep Bush successful but outside that I don't think he will ever be a 22 car, 125 ypg type back. His stats will always be hurt because he will split rushing and receiving and never be at the top of either catagory, and total yards from scrimage are always an after thought to rushing yards. I don't hold it against him thought that the media is in love with him, he can't control that shit.

i think it's pretty funny that reggie bush is such a polarizing player. most people seem to lose their sense of reason with him, one way or the other. i just can't understand why so many are trying to focus on just the negatives with him. the thing is, the dude seems like a good guy - hasn't gotten in trouble with the law, his teammates like him, he's a good citizen in his city, etc. sure, he was super-hyped before the season, but really there haven't been the grandiose "next gale sayers" speeches in a couple of months now - but it's also obvious he isn't going to be a "flop". he's gonna be a good NFL back, score some TD's, make his team's offense more effective, and potentially win some games. so what if he's not gonna be the best RB ever? so can we kill this thread?[Edited on December 5, 2006 at 9:28 AM. ^^^actually I was just making the point that he is not going to be a guy that has "typical" RB statistics, I didnt really do the math just wrote down what a good running day would be. I personally don't give a shit if they hand him the ball, throw it to him, roll it to him, if he then runs up the middle, around the outside, or jumps over people. If he produces yards and helps his team win then who gives a shit if he is a rb, or a wr. He will most likely be a hybrid of the two, so what does it matter how he is defined?
12/5/2006 2:08:04 PM
Reggie Bush without Deuce McAllister is like Harold Melvin without the Blue Notes
12/5/2006 4:12:26 PM
WITHOUT AN OFFENSIVE LINE TO BLOCK FOR HIM BUSH WOULDNT DO SHIT
12/5/2006 4:13:58 PM
WITHOUT A GENERAL MANAGER REGGIE BUSH WOULDN'T EVEN BE SIGNED TO A CONTRACT THAT ENABLED HIM TO PLAY IN THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE
12/5/2006 4:47:31 PM
without a different running back to get the ball downfield....you know, the running back who has been scoring the majority of the saints' rushing TDs this year...the RB that has been rushing for the large majority of yards this year? The best RB on the Saints, Deuce McAllister?
12/5/2006 4:49:31 PM
WITHOUT A TRAINING STAFF REGGIE BUSH WOULD BE UNABLE TO TAPE HIS OWN ANKLES
12/5/2006 4:56:33 PM
without the USC offensive line and matt leinhart and lendell white, reggie bush wouldnt have any national championships

Without ESPN, Bush wouldn't have so much hypeYou'd think he was gonna tear the league up right out of the gates with the way they talked about himHe sputtered out of the gates (this is indisputable) and out came the "But he's just [a rookie/a good decoy/running behind a crap ol]!!" If I told the major players of sports media that Bush's biggest contributions to the Saints would go in this order:1) asses in seats2) decoy3) receiver4) punt returner5) HOLY SHIT HE DESERVED THIS NUMBER OK IN FACT THIS IS THE REASON HE IS STRUGGLING6) bench warmer7)8)9)10) "well, he's gonna extend Deuce's career..."11) running backI'd have been called everything but a child of God. Which is more or less what happened anyway, only it was the starry-eyed zombies who worship every syllable pronounced by ESPN's talking heads unless their favorite team/player isn't being spoken of favorably.I bet Joe Horn is a better WR than he is RB... which is why he plays WR.
12/5/2006 7:00:39 PM
i bet y'all ma' fuckers can't even name the REAL star of harold melvin and the bluenotes...you know, that one that did eventually go platinum as a solo artist. naw, y'all bush haters don't even know about that shit. y'all too busy hatin' on RB (notice that reggie bush's initials are "RB" - think that's coincidence??? naw!!!) to even know about teddy pendergrass. to even listen to some teddy p ballads. "be for reaaaaaalllll girl...be for reaaaaaalllll" oh yeah. "i just want y'all to dig my style with a smiiiile" teddy p and reggie b, makin' platinum hits and grabbin' girls' nips. that's what i'm talking about right there. yeah i'm drunk.and sleik, why you always hatin' on bush? i'm a life-long saints fan too, and it's like, we finally doing well, but you still finding something to hate on. i mean, everyone at this point understands that brees is the real key this year, so why all the venom towards bush? i tell you what, i'm still glad we got him instead of mario williams. seriously, williams ain't done shit this year. demeco ryans is to mario williams as marques colston is to reggie bush.
12/6/2006 2:06:44 AM
^ He has more sacks than the entire rest of his line.
12/6/2006 2:15:44 AM
demeco ryans has been their best defensive player this year, and mario really hasn't done shit yet. what, he has 4.5 sacks through 12 games? i mean, that's not terrible, but that's not what you look for in a #1 pick either. i'm sure he'll improve, but his impact on the texans has been no greater than bush's on the saints so far. granted the rest of mario's line is poop, but it's not like he's getting triple teamed or anything.
12/6/2006 2:22:02 AM
12/6/2006 3:02:20 AM
If people think Bush has been disappointing then there is absolutely no way to claim that Mario hasn't been in my opinion. Personally, I don't think either has been all that disappointing. I think they are rookies, who by nature are inconsistent almost all the time. Both will be absolute stars in this league one day...
12/6/2006 11:27:32 AM
spooner, I'm completely waterproof to the whole "Bush hater" shit. Please, try your call again a different angle.I'm not a Bush hater, but one game. out of twelve. does not turn me from tempered-wonderer to giddy-as-a-high-school-girl status. This stance is validated by sports analysts saying "This is the Bush we've been waiting for all season, this is the Bush the Saints wanted to see since week one, etc." Think about it - he had a total of five good PLAYS in eleven weeks of football, then has a big game and the starry-eyed zombies that largely comprise Reggie Bush fans forgot how to fucking act. Watching you fucktards' reaction to this past game was like giving a socially awkward 16-year-old virgin some beer and a porn tape. And to think, Bush was back to doing what MADE him the great hype machine in the first place - torching weak defenses. Gee..I mean shit, since you wanna talk about good games, Terrance "Dropper" Copper had **a** good game this season - should I be sweatin his nuts too? No I shouldn't, but since this is OHMYGODREGGIEBUSH we're talking about here, either you think he walks on water or you're a hater.
12/6/2006 8:10:50 PM
^ don't get so bitter, i was just pickin with you.go bush, nice run. no pro rb indeed.
12/10/2006 10:21:27 PM
man that touchdown reception really proved how awesome of a RB he is.
12/10/2006 10:22:43 PM
Go Maurice Jones-Drew.
12/10/2006 10:24:28 PM
last i checked, catching screen passes was part of the job role of a professional running back. thanks.
12/10/2006 10:25:56 PM
is it just me or do you feel this way as well?Every time Reggie Bush has the ball, I want him to get smashed and injured and have career ending injuries sustained.....
12/10/2006 10:30:41 PM
^ lol i'm with you.
12/10/2006 10:32:30 PM
I'm not.
12/10/2006 10:33:31 PM
i love me some reggie bush. this kool aid is sooooo good.
^^^^^last time i checked you still had to run from the los
12/10/2006 10:38:22 PM
Steve Smith = Fantastic pro RB.
12/10/2006 10:39:56 PM
hes much better at catching than he is at taking handoffsno doubt he's a good openfield runner, but with a QB stuffing the ball in his belly, he's damn near worthless at this point in his career... i dont see that changing though.
12/10/2006 10:42:18 PM
I've came to the conclusion, he's a ggggreat reciever. How many runs has he got today? And my question is still left unanswered
12/10/2006 10:44:53 PM
i think the saints should play him at CB too, fred thomas is garbage.
12/10/2006 10:47:28 PM
he played CB for a down against tampa in the game where he had the minus yardage.... credited with a pass defensed and all.
12/10/2006 10:49:20 PM
That avoidance is cute. Because you and I know that he is a reciever that lines up in the backfield "a decoy".
12/10/2006 10:50:38 PM
12/10/2006 11:05:12 PM
^^ nope. still don't agree with you. sure, he catches a ton of passes out of the backfield. but he's still a RB - he lines up behind the QB. he picks up blitzes, he takes handoffs. it would be silly for the saints to line him up wide on a regular basis as a WR, as it would be tougher for him to get the ball as frequently. word up.[Edited on December 10, 2006 at 11:07 PM. Who is getting their panties wet? Anyone who doesn't have the same opinion as you? You're being ridiculous. I don't think many people legitimately expected him to be challenging single season records as a rookie (though he will break the all time NFL record for receptions from a 'rb.'). As far as expectations and falling short. I disagree. I thought he would get a few more carries and obviously with more carries the added production but he has FAR exceeded my expectations as a receiving back. In the short team (last 3-4 games) there are only a handful of players performing better to me RIGHT NOW in the entire league.Having a possession back like Deuce has allowed the Saints to be a lot more creative with Bush, which has made the team tons better. Those two must be a nightmare for a defense to gameplan. I just see a bunch of people who had unrealistic expectations and a whole lot of hate for a nice guy who gets a lot of hype..I think you are doing the same thing as a lot of people who you disagree with. You're dislike for him is making you take things out of context. People who are saying he is doing well aren't saying he is the best thing ever. Just giving him credit when it is due...[Edited on December 10, 2006 at 11:22 PM. Reason : x]
