7/24/2007 9:03:32 PM
Entrees are about $25-$35, sides a-la-carte. their wine selection is allright, but not spectaculari had their horseradish crusted grouper, which was pretty much awesome.
7/24/2007 9:29:31 PM

8/15/2007 6:37:13 PM
how smart? we're always looking to hire people who are good at analyzing data
8/16/2007 5:06:14 PM
^what kind of data? i'm a matlabing excel spreadsheeting digital signal processing fool. [Edited on August 16, 2007 at 6:25 PM. Reason : .]
8/16/2007 6:24:26 PM
^^ yeah, what type of data, and what type of analysis
8/16/2007 9:03:40 PM
German Beirfest Saturday at Atlantic Station from 2-8:00. $30 and you can drink all the German beer your heart desires, in 92 degree heat. Good times!!Any of y'all play kickball this summer? End of season party tonight at Twisted Taco. I'll be there and fairly hammered.
8/23/2007 10:21:25 AM
my friends mentioned wanting to go to that beer festival thing at atlantic station, but i hate that place
8/23/2007 3:45:00 PM
wifey and i are playing in this soccer league this fallhttp://www.usclubsport.com/pages/FrameLeagueSignup.htmlwe joined as free agents with a girl my wife works with - some other people in our neighborhood play in the same league but their team was already full
8/23/2007 5:41:34 PM
^^^ going to the beerfestwould like to join a volleyball and/or wallyball league... anyone know of any?
8/23/2007 6:37:07 PM
anyone know where you can buy some cachaca in ATL?
8/24/2007 6:32:34 PM
have you tried a package store...i know most of the big ones (like in toco hills) carry it (or did a year ago when i was looking for it)
8/24/2007 7:28:37 PM
haven't tried anywhere yet - i'm in mexico city until the 31st - just trying to get some options before i get back
8/24/2007 7:38:50 PM
well, Caipirinhas are popular around some of the bars here...i know i've bought cachaca 51 at package stores (the same stuff we drank in Brazil)
8/24/2007 9:34:04 PM
Beer Festival was alright, hot as fuck, long ass lines, but good beer
8/26/2007 9:53:12 PM
^ yeah, pretty much how i saw it too. i didn't get out there until 6:00, though, so it had cooled off some. we eventually found a both with a short line and just sat back there and got hammered as much as we could before 8:00. then went out, ended up shutting down the clermont lounge. dj romeo cologne, best dj in the state!i've decided that i have a new litmus test for any women i meet. if they'll go to clermont with me, drink pbr's and ask romeo cologne to play "just be good to me" by the s.o.s. band, then they're keepers. [Edited on August 27, 2007 at 12:15 PM. Reason : ..]
8/27/2007 12:11:54 PM
dj romeo - he's the one that does disco tuesday's at the star bar, right?
8/27/2007 12:41:39 PM
yeah, i think so. he basically just plays disco and r&b from the 70's/early 80's, so it sounds like the same guy. he's at the clermont every saturday night, normally gets there around 12:30-1:00. good place to roll to if you're out in the highlands on a saturday night and want to dance. or mjq, but i prefer cheap pbr and old boobies to breakdancing
8/27/2007 1:48:41 PM
http://www.atlrestaurantweek.com/the wife and a few of our friends are going to Veni Vidi Vici for dinner tonight for restaurant week - $25/3 course meal
8/27/2007 1:49:46 PM
yeah that's him - I miss being able to roll out at midnight on a tuesday night for some star bar...grad school was too much fun
8/27/2007 3:25:44 PM
^^^ MJQ is the shit, reminds me a lot of the place that we used to go to in Knoxville til 6am
8/27/2007 3:27:57 PM
i went to jocks and jills in midtown on saturday (yeah traffic was a bit worse than normal because of the game/concerts) for the game - i was pretty impressed with the little setup the alumni club has down there - the side semi-private room near the restrooms was blocked off for ncsu alumni - there were about 15-20 people or so there - trivia during half-time was decent - the prizes weren't anything special but it was still fun - service was decent but the fact that we walked into a very very packed bar and got a table with ease made me not care that it was slow at timesthe girl running it said that the same area will be blocked off for every televised game this year - it appeared to me that the same space was used for multiple alumni clubs though - so if 2 games overlap i'm not quite sure what happens
9/10/2007 8:25:12 AM
sweet, may have to check that out.
9/10/2007 7:43:54 PM
too bad that will only be 2 more games all year haha, I kid. Well, sort of...
9/11/2007 12:51:42 AM
any tips on companies in/around atlanta looking for a mechanical engineer with product development/product testing/vehicle dynamics/data acquisition/data analysis skills? everything i'm finding is generally PEM hvac positions, for which i don't have any experience.
9/19/2007 11:09:56 PM
more than likely going to be at jocks and jills for the game again - the alumni club added a cobb county location and even though i'm in cobb county it's further from me than the midtown location
9/19/2007 11:42:31 PM
recommended sushi places?went to zuma this past weekend - it was good and reasonably priced i thought- under $75 with a bottle of wine and 3 rolls - we were only really impressed with 1 of the rolls we ordered and it could have been just the ones we got as opposed to the place not being good
9/27/2007 2:58:18 PM
If you can afford it, the Geisha House has some really good and unique stuff...but it ain't cheapalso the sushi at Harry and Sons in Va Highlands is good
9/27/2007 3:03:25 PM
doh - we almost went to harry and sons - the choice was between zuma and harry's - they are right up the road from each other on highland ave.
9/27/2007 3:17:12 PM
^^^ for a casual, but nice place, Aqua Bistro is nice. They have a good variety, neat decor, relaxed atmosphere, porch area outside, and its 4 floors down from my front door. aha
9/27/2007 4:21:21 PM
going north on cobb parkway from 285, there's a strip mall with an olive garden on the right. go in that strip mall, there's a small authentic Japanese restaurant called yakitori jinbei. the guy who owns it used to have a restaurant in Tokyo. The staff is super friendly and will likely remember you on your second visit. If you are looking for good food without the pretentious atmosphere i guarantee this is the best sushi and yakitori (charcoal grilled chicken and pork) in Atlanta.apparently they have a websitehttp://www.yakitorirestaurant.com/fuutou/ie.html[Edited on September 27, 2007 at 6:57 PM. Reason : link]
9/27/2007 6:51:23 PM
yeah, I used to work right across from that, its good... further north there is one on the left, its not good... well, not good for me, too much weird shit
9/27/2007 9:06:19 PM
went to yakitori for lunch - sushi was good but i wish they had more interesting selections
9/28/2007 1:21:50 PM
any of you know of a place like Bali Hai around Atlanta? There has to be somethinghmmm, The Real Chow Baby seems similar[Edited on October 5, 2007 at 7:24 PM. Reason : d]
10/5/2007 7:14:15 PM
Real Chow Baby is the most similar to Bali Hai - and fantastic, but crowded.I have seen Yakitori a lot of times but haven't tried it yet. Now I will!
10/11/2007 11:40:01 AM
yeah, we went by there and there was a 45 minute wait on a freaking Wednesday...
