yeah, i had benched him after the news came out, just haven't gotten around to dropping him yet.
9/7/2006 10:11:50 AM
Duce Staley is 3rd string, start Chris Brown over him.
9/7/2006 10:40:12 AM
So is Steve Smith a definitive bench this week?
9/7/2006 10:42:36 AM
the better question regarding smith isShould I play Leftwich over Delhomme. I'm thinking no but whats the consensus
9/7/2006 10:43:45 AM
okay good i picked Lundy and Tatum Bell yesterday so that makes me feel better...Doesnt seattle have a pretty damn good defense? I was thinking back to NFC championship game and we couldnt run worth a crap on them... i dont know if i like Kevin Jones against Seattle...The Rams have been horrible against the run the past few years... Tatum Bell is the kind of back who can put up 73 yards and a TD on 10 carries so i really like my chances with him... i could just see Kevin Jones being like 30 rushing, 30 rec, no TD...
9/7/2006 10:55:33 AM
Seattle definitely has a good defenseand even though Denver could get 4 rushing touchdowns and Tatum could have zero, theres still a good chance he will get one...if ANY team is going to run the ball, its Denver
9/7/2006 10:57:43 AM
I don't understand why everyone is so down on Philip Rivers in fantasy...I could see him easily being a top 15 fantasy QB.I think he's at least as good (if not better) of a QB than Drew Brees...Having Gates assures him of ~10 TD's right there... then toss in all the yards that LDT creates off screen passes... McCardell is a proven threat... Tomlinson/Turner keeps the defense honest as a rushing threat... they have a good but not stifling defense... he's not going to throw as many INT's as a guy like Eli Manning... he's a threat to get rushing TD's on QB sneaks (we know how he LOVES the sneak )I just think he's in for a big season statistically...And I know people are scared because its his first year starting.... but he's not a rookie and he's not some chump like JP Losman.Eli Manning, Daunte Culpepper, Mike Vick, Carson Palmer (to an extent).... all these guys posted big numbers in their first full year as a starter after sitting the bench for a year....why cant Philip do it after sitting for two?[Edited on September 7, 2006 at 11:26 AM. Reason : a]
9/7/2006 11:25:38 AM
i definitely wish the best for Phil, but you answered your own question...the reason many people are down on him is because
9/7/2006 11:27:40 AM
9/7/2006 11:33:22 AM
yeah but that was his 2nd year as the starterPalmers first season starting he was 2900 yards, 18 TD's in 13 games...which is goodfirst year starting doesnt mean that much if you aren't a true rookie... plenty of QB's have had big years... he's a good QB and he's in a very good situation. The numbers will be there. Its odd to me to see him go in the last rounds or even undrafted when people are taking guys like Aaron Brooks, Jake Plummer, Roethlisberger, and Drew Brees much higher.I would imagine he'll put up similar if not better numbers than all four of the above. And he's not as big of a risk to lose his starting job as Brooks or Plummer...or as big of an injury risk as Brees...
9/7/2006 11:48:27 AM
Eli vs Indy or Brees @ Cleveland?Bush (Cle) or T. Jones (GB) as my 2nd RB?
9/7/2006 12:13:36 PM
^Ced Benson is listed as "questionable" so that might factor in
9/7/2006 12:18:40 PM
thomas jones easy. Here's a little known fact.Cedric Benson is terrible. He won't rush for more than 400 yards this year. If you have that guy, trade him.TJones is a nice sleeper if he stays healthy.I know the Bears WANT to start Benson but they can't because he sucks and he's always hurt.Cleveland's d is good and while i think Bush will be a good player later in the season, he's not a riskfree start this early... let them work him into some formations for a few weeks before you bench a proven guy like TJones for him[Edited on September 7, 2006 at 12:30 PM. 9/7/2006 12:29:17 PM
Brady is listed as probable. Should I start him? My backup is Rivers.
9/7/2006 12:51:53 PM
Brady will play. Brady will do well.Rivers will play. Rivers SHOULD do well.
9/7/2006 2:15:25 PM
ok i finally have a question of my own for you guys...slightly complicated but not too much...I playRB, RB, WR, WR/TE, WR/RBin a perfect world I would probably play:Portis, Rudi, Torry, Shockey, TObut with injuries etc should I play Cooley instead of Shockey and swap Portis with either Dunn or Duece McAllister? I will wait a couple days to see about Portis but I do have Cooley...also haha I have Jason Witten in case TO has questions...thoughts?]
9/7/2006 2:17:30 PM
9/7/2006 3:26:11 PM
^wait til Sunday morning to see what updates are available, unless your other best WR's play tonight...if your other receivers are mediocre, Steve Smith at 50% might be just as good as playing them
9/7/2006 3:28:51 PM
3 WR spots and 1 W/R spot open. Who should I start? * Is what I have selected right now.TO*K. McCardell*A Toomer*E. Parker Appears to have some sort of thumb problem. Not on depth chart.D. GabrielD. HallT. Duckett*V. Haynes
9/7/2006 7:45:01 PM
^^^ Team looks pretty good to me.^ I think those you have selected will be the best situation.
9/7/2006 7:56:25 PM
In four leagues. Tonight I'm rooting against Miami QB, TE, and defense, for their K, for and against their RB, and against Pitt's RB.
9/7/2006 8:15:42 PM
haha i'm "only" in 2 leagues...I have Pittsburgh's defense in one league...in the other league, my fucking opponent hasnt even set any starters! and he has Ronnie Brown and the Steelers' kicker!!![Edited on September 7, 2006 at 8:20 PM. Reason : damn]
9/7/2006 8:18:31 PM
BTW StatTracker has a new look this year fyi
9/7/2006 8:26:23 PM
9/7/2006 9:07:29 PM
^^Yahoo StatTracker? It's not working for me.
9/7/2006 9:25:06 PM
I got it now. Great first half for me.
9/7/2006 10:15:55 PM
well so far i'm glad i didnt start cpep, hopefully he will continue to not throw tds next half
9/7/2006 10:17:05 PM
I figured Batch would be throwin to Miller like crazy with being nervous, he needs to touch it more and keep runnin Willie, but I still want Miami to win
9/7/2006 10:21:03 PM
Grr, my league's commish just changed the scoring from 50 to 25 passing yards/point, doubling my opponent's score for Culpepper. Good thing Brown's getting all the td's anyway.
9/7/2006 10:44:04 PM
glad i got parker though, and my team gives 5 points extra if the back hits 100 yards, gonna be a 15 point night for him[Edited on September 7, 2006 at 10:51 PM. Reason : c]
9/7/2006 10:51:06 PM
i love my team i had a heck of a draft for a 12 team league...QBK. WarnerB. JohnsonRBL. JohnsonJ. JonesW. ParkerA. PetersonF. GoreWRT. HoushmanzadehP. BurressD. BennettA. ToomerTER. McMichaelV. DavisDEFDallasKS. GrahamDJ. TaylorA. ThomasR. Lewis
9/7/2006 10:51:58 PM
I guess
9/7/2006 11:48:17 PM
I'm going to stab cowher in the chin if he pulls that take-parker-out-when-he-is-at-the-1-yard-line shit all year. That haynes guy was horrible, anyway.Wouldn't have changed the game, but it's the principle of the thing.[Edited on September 7, 2006 at 11:59 PM. Reason : Was hoping that idiot saban would get the fucking challenge. how stupid can you be]
9/7/2006 11:58:24 PM
Had Heath Miller on two teams and didn't play him.
9/8/2006 12:00:12 AM
had steelers D and didnt start them because Ronnie Brown is my star back...Didnt figure they would both do well fantasy wise at the same time Brown 18 pts and Steelers 11pts
9/8/2006 12:05:34 AM
yay for the pitt defense
9/8/2006 12:06:05 AM
Miller and Parker, wahooowas about to trade Miller was sick and tired of him then all of a sudden TDDDDDDD Miller, i was happy
9/8/2006 12:12:00 AM
I cant believe how fucked i got playing against Heath Miller. He was clearly out at like the 4 yard line. Thats 8 points i got jobbed (+6 TD & +2 for 40+ yard TD)
9/8/2006 10:25:51 AM
so im kinda worried about starting Lamont Jordan this week against SD good =run defense.I also have Edge starting cuz i know he will get his, as backups I have Corey Dillon and Addai, but I dont think either of those will have a breakout week. Should I go with Jordan anyways or maybe drop Dillon for Chris Brown.
9/8/2006 2:31:21 PM
Ok, should I start Chester Taylor (vs. Redskins) or Fred Taylor (vs. Cowboys) at my 2nd RB? LJ is the #1.Also, I opted to start Dallas over Denver on D since Denver plays the Rams and Dallas plays Jax.
9/8/2006 2:33:47 PM
i really wish willie's ass woulda got in the end zone:got them to the one before being subbed out (fumble)if they would had marked heath miller down inside the five, willie could had got another TDshoulda/coulda/woulda. 115yds is nice, but 4pts from a starting RB ain't great.
9/8/2006 2:34:44 PM
^You have to get 25 rush for a point? Most places it's 10.[Edited on September 8, 2006 at 3:21 PM. Reason : At least 20]
9/8/2006 3:02:23 PM
9/8/2006 3:06:51 PM
Yeh man, I was piiiiiiiiissssssssed that Saban didn't throw the flag and challenge that. I wanted Fast Willie to get a TD.Then I checked the team I have him on,I also have Heath Miller
9/8/2006 3:31:16 PM
i got super fucked with Chambers.....Culpeper barely threw to him.....so gay
9/8/2006 3:52:57 PM
i played AGAINST ronnie brownthank god i had pitt's defense and porter got that touchdown
9/8/2006 3:53:32 PM
im stickin with Lamontheres my REAL problem2 WR to pickStallworth, Joe Horn, Plaxico, Santana Moss or Matt Jones
9/8/2006 4:22:59 PM
Portis is doubtful so Santana might be one to playnot sure how much Stallworth has learned Philly's system yetdunno
9/8/2006 4:26:04 PM
Chambers had 59 yards dude and got thrown to twice in the end zoneThat projects to 1,000 yards and ~8 TD's.What were you expecting, the 1987 version of Jerry Rice?
9/8/2006 4:26:58 PM
leaning towards either Stallworth and Moss or Plaxico and MossMoss is in there i think for me, but the other spot is up for grabs, I know McNabb will throw to Stallworth, but what about Eli and Plax
