^Charlotte better not pick Adam Fucking Morrison. They cannot waste another pick like they did with Fatass May.Page 8 says PLEASE COME BACK CED! [Edited on May 7, 2006 at 10:59 PM. Reason : 8]

nbadraft.net also has Charlotte taking Morrison, but those draft sites are rarely spot on with their predictions...more of an estimation of where the players might fall in the draft.personally i think the Bobcats should get Brandon Roy. we don't need another forward (though i'd be happy with rudy gay). come on elite shooting guard!i also think Ced should stay in school so our team can be sick next year[Edited on May 7, 2006 at 11:06 PM. unless Roy has started to cry BEFORE the end of a game that was still competitive, I'd take him over Morrison.

Posted today on ESPN InsiderUpdate: Who's staying in the draft?Cedric Simmons, PF, North Carolina State: A month ago it looked certain that Simmons was going to stay in the draft as a strong first-round candidate whose coach had just bolted. But the hiring of Sidney Lowe may change that. Lowe is lobbying hard for Simmons to return to school for another season. Lowe, who's been a head coach in the NBA twice, is promising Simmons he can better prepare him for the NBA and help him raise his stock in the next year. However, Simmons is being pulled by agents and some NBA teams who want him in the draft. It should be interesting to see who wins this tug-of-war. Our money is on the money."I feel like if you work hard you're going to get better either way, here at State or in the NBA," Simmons told the Wilmington Star-News.When asked what the plus-minus of returning to State is, Simmons replied, "There really is no plus-minus -- the plus-minus is money."

good to hear that Sid Lowe might be making some headway

Based on what he's saying, it seems that way. Example:

^to me, that quote is just him being straight up, and not bullshitting around the situationthat's really what it comes down to (money), and he's just stating that fact.[Edited on May 15, 2006 at 6:32 PM. Reason : .]
5/15/2006 6:31:19 PM
...because NCSU will pay him, right or wrong
5/15/2006 6:36:28 PM
I really hope he stays, but Sleik's right, if you read it he says it comes down to money and where's his money gonna come from? The NBA. Any more news on this?

Let it go already, Herb is gone, no use doing "what ifs"Herb, lol, hasnt struggled...lol.....well, blowouts against cupecakes and a buzzer beater against UNCG.....any decent team(and ACC team) his record sucked....just against cupcakes did he not struggle.
5/30/2006 1:07:53 AM
^^??would him staying in college all of a sudden make him an nba success??i mean, state hasnt had a good player since gugliotta, so of course we wont have nba success. todd fuller and julius hodge isnt gonna cut it at the next level. state has a history of "college" players, from fire/ice, fuller, grundy, hodge. all pretty good in college, some great, and all pretty much nba failures, although the jury is still out on hodge. but, personally, i dont judge the sucess of my college by nba players. last i checked wake still has no championships but they have two all-stars and another really good player in the nba.[Edited on May 30, 2006 at 1:10 AM. ^^i aplogize then, it seemed like you were taking an underhanded bash.i actually do blame herb partly for ced's stats, but it is about 50/50 with ced himself. herb needed to give ced more oppurtunities and ced needed to not fuck up the opportunities he was given, which he did half the time.but i dont think player's stats specifically reflect a coach to a huge amount as mcuh as they specifically reflect the college style of play and the fact that most big men are not developed enough in college to have an offense run through them. that results in their stats being low and draft position being high.
5/30/2006 11:44:32 AM
I don't think there is anything inherent in the college game that keeps big men from being utilized/developed. The lack of dominant college big men has more to do with few big men sticking around to develop in college like a Tim Duncan or Emeka Okafor. Big men were still a big part of the college game 10-15 years ago. NBA teams are initially attracted to big men based on size and athleticism, whereas guards typically need time to develop and prove their skills. This is why college basketball has become a guards game. Time will tell if the age minimum will have an effect on that, now that the OJ Mayos of the world have to spend at least some time in college.Ced's high draft stock (and that of many big men this year) can be thanked in large part to the weak draft class (in part created by the institution of the age minimum). Ced could have an outstanding year and see his draft stock slip, with the guys coming out next year.
