okay. I totally clicked on the 8th page thinking "oh god, what bs/flaming am I going to have to deal with now... "On a lighter note.. RPM said my optispark was failing. It was the ignition coil, not the opti. That and they tore up my rear tow hook so that it was up against the exhaust, which vibrated the whole car betwen 2-3k rpm. Thanks guys... But otherwise, they are nice guys... car is back on the road... yay.

Btw, long time coming, but I finally got something for those of you who've yet to see the car (which will be everyone except Ahmed and TKE-Teg.) Enjoy:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svcgCNwtWqE[Edited on September 20, 2008 at 10:07 PM. Reason : .]

Man, I love the way that LT1 sounds when you make the pull.
9/21/2008 5:54:19 PM
thanks guys. It's a little louder than the video depicts it to be. WOT + Underpass = wannabe racecar
9/22/2008 8:28:51 AM
I loves me a LT-1. Sounds great man.

I'd like to stay that Stephen's car is sweeeeeeeet. Drove it this afternoon and damn that thing has some pull! I was told not to floor it in 1st or 2nd so I listened and only did it (a lot) in 3rd and 4th. Even from a low speed (30 or so) it takes off And the lack of power steering and brakes only adds to the visceral experience, haha.I'm not used to such large amounts of torque, haha! Now Stephen just get that poor car a new fender and a paint job and you're in business.Oh yeah and Stephen, when can we trade rides again for a few minutes? I'm hooked. haha, thanks for the positive post Patrick. Like I said, you drove the car better than a few other people I know who've disappointingly attempted... The clutch is quite stiff and you can't be a pussy about depressing the brake pedal to get it to stop. I love how it's all manual, just a 3000lb go-kart with some "hell yeah" under the hood lol, how many people got out and onto the balcony when we pulled up in that parking lot? 3 black guys? lolz...shhhhhhiiiiiiitttttttt son... I'm actually looking forward to a new tranny w/LSD and some wider tires. I can't imagine how much faster this thing could go if it'd hook you want to trade rides? Hell yeah... I almost flew out the seat riding with you in the gs-r... I miss that feeling (the extreme lateral g's from sharp turns...) [Edited on October 5, 2008 at 10:51 PM. Reason : ./]

I'm going to guestimate 3000-3100lbs, but I haven't gotten it weighed and there's about 30-40lbs in audio equipment that can come out if necessary. There's a lot of weight (~300lbs) to be saved eventually if whenever I decide to fiberglass/carbonfiber the front end including the door panels, lexan windshield, and then some when I start stripping out the interior as well. The 944 and Quinn's Civic are both equally fast on the top end of the power spectrum (which honestly surprised me, I figured I had a slight edge on him at least, however he does have considerable weight advantage compared to my vehicle). It's pretty even, and he didn't brake boost. I'm thoroughly impressed with our vehicles' performances. Good run Quinn We'll have to do it again some time.Don't ask us how we know, just take this as seriously as God's word. Thanks[Edited on August 15, 2009 at 4:16 PM. Reason : .]

Yeah. I'll give you an idea what boost level that was later today hopefully. Time to get some larger injectors so I can move my boost cut up higher. Should stay strong until 21-22psi of boost.I figure its around 15-16 now.I like that poorchevy though. It sounds really good.
8/15/2009 4:18:34 PM
Thanks... I love your PSHHH!!!!
8/15/2009 5:12:58 PM
results are in. car runs approx 14 pounds. 750cc's go in today and I'm going to try to tune it for 20-22psi. well at least you had one night where it was close, lol.
8/16/2009 8:45:15 AM
Sounds like it's time for an automotive arms race. You know, a SBC sounds really cool with a turbo, too. (and bottle-feeding always works in a pinch!)
8/16/2009 8:48:55 AM
^^Well then. I'm probably closer to 270rwhp than my dyno'd 295, considering half the cylinders are running with a huge exhaust leak. So once I get those headers (lol, whenever that'll be ) we'll have to do a rematch. I think I made the leak worse since the other night It was a great run. But lets run from 30mph next time starting in 3rd. Let's see how you do then without any torque ^I wish there was room Only option is a STS type rear turbo system. That's a lot of weight from the piping... If I went FI, I'd rather do a roots type supercharger and just put on a cowl hood. But the LT1 doesn't offer that. I'm sure other SBC roots type superchargers are compatible, I just haven't done the research. I'd rather stroke the engine first anyways Quinn, my wife, and I are all in agreement that the car needs to be a little bit more loopy [Edited on August 16, 2009 at 6:42 PM. I thought the Porcheve was for sale?
8/17/2009 3:23:25 PM
It is was. But not a single damn person has even yet to inquire about it. I doubt I'd get even $5k for it. I know I wouldn't get what I've put into it from the beginning, but selling it for a profit wasn't the original intention. It's only about $3-4k away from being fixed up. I was frustrated one day, got pissy, and decided to put it up. I don't expect it to seriously be sold, and a part of me wants to continue on with the project or fixing it up to where I want it to be. End goal isn't exactly like the first post in this thread, but it'll be awesome still nonetheless. I have a change of heart with it everyday. Current plans are to FG the front end with 951 turbo look, new glass windshield (I know, it's heavy, but I believe there are issues with glare and such...), Gut the interior, Corbeau Racing seats, full cage, 5 point harness, CF dash with new Stewart Racing Gauges, and upgrade suspension. It'll be done... All in time... One thing I hate about this platform. Porsche shit costs $Texas money [Edited on August 17, 2009 at 4:18 PM. Reason : .]

Dude... I mean seriously... I.. STOP SPENDING MONEY ON THIS CAR! And instead of gutting your monster garage creation w/a roll cage and racing seats, get out on a race track and learn how to drive. You can thank me later. -Management.

chirped the tires shifting into 4th gear at 80? What kind of weird short gearing do you have? lol.
