Why not free kick? 53 yards...no rush. What is the risk??? I don't understand.
11/5/2005 5:18:22 PM
not 53, it was a 60 yard fgBIGGGGGGGG difference
11/5/2005 5:18:41 PM
Well I just got done watching South Africa win in rugby (yes I'm still in Africa), and espn gamecast isn't working for me, what's the scoop?
11/5/2005 5:18:42 PM
^^ We have shitty half time play calling...[Edited on November 5, 2005 at 5:19 PM. Reason : ..]
11/5/2005 5:19:01 PM
NO, its 53 yards. Its not a "free field goal". Its a "free kick" from the spot where the fair catch occured. 53 yards.
11/5/2005 5:19:27 PM
score is 10-10stone is 1 for 7 throwing
^^^out routes are the easiest pass to pick off if you pick one off its six. do you really want to end the half like that?
11/5/2005 5:19:28 PM
hope someone recorded that answer by chuck, i wanna see that again
andre brown = offense
11/5/2005 5:19:39 PM
11/5/2005 5:19:49 PM
its a 60 yard field goal, have u never heard of the 7 yards that is required for a kicker to get the ball and place it behind the line?"60 yards

Sigghh.... 8 seconds left... what team throws a hail mary? we could of gotten 2 five yard outs in... On a good note. Great job D and A.B.
11/5/2005 5:21:22 PM
basically our only highlight of the entire first half was andre browns 84 yd touchdown run 24 seconds into the game
11/5/2005 5:21:23 PM
we basically have what some of you wanted. an offense with no quarterback. although it we'd probably be better off by sitting stones ass and putting another RB in.
11/5/2005 5:21:25 PM
OMGSTONERULZ!!!!11111
11/5/2005 5:22:01 PM
an offense with NO O LINEEEEEEEEEits not that he cant throw the ball, he has NO TIME to throw the ball
11/5/2005 5:22:33 PM
i thought it was 65 yds 17 seconds into the game
11/5/2005 5:22:35 PM
put tramain at qb. he played in hih school
11/5/2005 5:23:01 PM
Stone is 1-7??? Good godHow's the turnovers and penalties looking?
11/5/2005 5:23:23 PM
I'd vote to see at least one play with an RB at QB
11/5/2005 5:23:34 PM
chuck must be drunkhaha,you
11/5/2005 5:23:37 PM
hell, as long as he is not throwing pics i say leave stone in
11/5/2005 5:23:49 PM
JTBUCKY....its a "fair catch free kick"You are allowed to take a free kick from the spot. Defense has to be 10 yards away from the kick. If you miss, they get the ball where you kicked it. 53 YARDS.
11/5/2005 5:24:43 PM
11/5/2005 5:26:39 PM
dude, the ball is placed on the 53, u have to still snap the ball, tehy arent gonna put the ball 7 yards ahead of the fair catch spot and then let u snap it to the 53...thats common senseyou HAVE TO SNAP IT 7 yards53+7=60 yard lineanyone else agree with me?[Edited on November 5, 2005 at 5:27 PM. Reason : .]
11/5/2005 5:26:55 PM
i could see that being pretty hard
11/5/2005 5:27:24 PM
11/5/2005 5:27:33 PM
Dude....You don't snap it. Its a free kick from the spot. Look it up.
11/5/2005 5:27:40 PM
there is no snap on free kick
11/5/2005 5:27:51 PM
A fair catch free kick can only be done after a safety... it didn't apply there I don't believe(And I think it's only in the NFL as well...?)[Edited on November 5, 2005 at 5:29 PM. Reason : sdfsd]
11/5/2005 5:28:39 PM
It may just be an NFL rule. I don't know. I do know that a "fair catch free kick" is from the spot of the fair catch.
11/5/2005 5:29:39 PM
k
11/5/2005 5:29:51 PM
^ Yeah, I'm thinking it is only an NFL rule. Well, that's just becuase I"ve never seen it done in college. Who knowsEdit: And yes varsity... you're right. No snap, you kick from where the ball is fair caught...[Edited on November 5, 2005 at 5:33 PM. Reason : jghgh]
11/5/2005 5:30:17 PM
someone get a clip of chuck's halftime "interview" online ASAP
11/5/2005 5:30:44 PM
Ok, I don't think its allowed in college. But there is no free kick that is snapped back 7 yards. I think its only allowed in high school and NFL.
11/5/2005 5:32:21 PM
11/5/2005 5:33:30 PM
11/5/2005 5:33:44 PM
so we were both wrong because it cant be done in NCAA anywaysagree to disagree?anyone else think that was one LONGGGGGG first half of football?[Edited on November 5, 2005 at 5:35 PM. Reason : . by the way how long does it take to get from Raleigh to Concorde]

An "All Your Base" sign just made an appearance behind the College Gameday desk at VT during our halftime.
11/5/2005 5:36:07 PM
2 Questions: Holloman carried the ball for 65 yds? And who the hell is Jeffries?
11/5/2005 5:37:21 PM
I found this....
11/5/2005 5:38:01 PM
Has Baker been put in at all. The o-line sounds like they're doing shit-all to protect Stone.
11/5/2005 5:38:13 PM
^ don't think so
11/5/2005 5:38:47 PM
