fuck culpepper, between palmer and brees you are set, most teams would kill to have those twoeven if culpepper comes back around to last seasons form you wont need him
10/3/2005 1:32:49 PM
Bledsoe is playing better than Culpepper right nowBrees is playing wellPalmer is a gold mineCulpepper continuously fucks up over and over again but has HUGE potentialFUCK!
10/3/2005 1:33:39 PM
^^ maybe, but my view would be with Palmer you can afford to "take a chance" on Culpepper and keep him around to see if he gets back to his old self. You have the luxury of not having to rely on Buttpepper as your starter.^ exactly[Edited on October 3, 2005 at 1:34 PM. Reason : d]

Well every fantasy magazine and advice column on the face of the planet operates under the assumption that passing TD's are worth less than rushing and receiving TDs.I'm just letting you guys know the rules in case you ever get out of the kiddie pool and start playing in real leagues...In the meantime enjoy yourselves under whatever scoring system you're working with.
10/3/2005 1:34:43 PM
^ hahaha, no they dont, not at all. And I have been playing in "real leagues" probably since you were in elementary school
10/3/2005 1:36:14 PM
i mean really you dont need anyone after those first twoso i wouldnt be pulling any hairs out
10/3/2005 1:36:35 PM
and now i just realized that fucking CULPEPPER IS ON THE DAMN "CANT CUT" LIST!!!!!!!MOTHERFUCKINGDAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111one[Edited on October 3, 2005 at 1:39 PM. Reason : damn yahoo sports]

Jaybee im srory man but you are wrong.Nearly ALL of the expert fantasy leagues operate under the assumption that passing TD's are worth 3 or 4 points...Look it up for gods sake. I have probably 30 magazines in my room from the past 10 seasons that you can look at if need be...I've been playing this stuff since before the internet. Back in the day I had to make international phone calls to Canada just to make roster changes. Seriously... it used to cost $2.99 just to take Ben Coates out on his fucking bye week.^ and saps that doesnt disagree with me at all. The title of the column is Fantasy 101. You know, rules for beginners. Experts dont play in beginner leagues...It really doesnt matter what the scoring system in your leagus is because 50% of your league doesn't really know whats going on anyway.... i mean Torry Holt went #2 for gods sake... That doesnt mean you cant have a good time in your league... but clearly the entry fee wasn't high enough for your league for its members to take it seriously.Personally, I dont wanna play in a league that costs less than $50 (and id prefer $200-$300) just to avoid all the crap that comes with free leagues.... i.e. people not subbing out guys on bye weeks, people drafting kickers in the 2nd round, people not waiving a guy who is out for the season, etc[Edited on October 3, 2005 at 1:48 PM. 10/3/2005 1:43:23 PM
aha good point
10/3/2005 1:46:37 PM
anyway. if you play in a league where Passing TD's are worth 6 points and receiving yards are only worth 1 per 20 yards then yes Daunte is probably the biggest bust...although you could make a damn good argument for Peyton too before last week...[Edited on October 3, 2005 at 1:49 PM. Reason : a]
10/3/2005 1:49:19 PM
I play in a couple of different leagues, one is 6 for passing TD, another is 4, just depends on who you play with and how you set up the rules. The point drop off would still be higher for Culpepper even if you dropped it from 6 points to 4, so I don't see what the argument is.Biggest bust SO FAR this season:Daunte Culpepper[/end discussion]And about the economics thing, you invest MORE in a first-secound round pick than you do a fourth, and yes you can sub in and sub out, but I do that with TE's more than I do QB's, because any given week a TE can explode, and if you've invested a high pick on a solid QB, you don't want to sit them. And I'd argue the most important positions, I'd typically rank it like this...RB>QB>WR>TEI always draft a RB first(luckily this year I got the first spot so I got LT) if there is still a good one left, and after that I typically look at QB or best available player.
10/3/2005 2:53:19 PM
what is the purpose of a CANT CUT list?
10/3/2005 2:55:46 PM
i never understood that either
10/3/2005 3:04:28 PM
doesnt it have to do with the draft and how many people took them in the first round?? pretty sure they are all first round picks
10/3/2005 3:17:21 PM
its so people dont cheat and cut a player like say, LT, so that another player can pick him up. all trades get reviewed by the commish so you couldnt try to pull some lame ass trade like i dunno lets say antonio gates and plaxico burress for fucking javon walker and thomas jones.it's all a part of what they do to keep people from unfairly stacking their teams
10/3/2005 3:18:46 PM
I have seen just as many leagues where passing TDs are worth 6 as I have where they are worth 4. Just like some leagues give points for defensive yards allowed, but a lot dont. I wouldnt say that a majority is one way or the other. And like I said, our scoring system is based on the actual football worth of a stat, we dont inflate or deflate a category just to make all positions even because they arent all even in real football, which is what we are trying to replicate as near as possible
10/3/2005 3:29:42 PM
Bledsoe and Culpepper for Eli Manning & Muhsin Muhammad i think this is a pretty good trade based on the fact that i already have Carson Palmer and Drew Breeswhat do you guys think?[Edited on October 4, 2005 at 10:12 AM. Reason : plus Hasselbeck and T. Green are still available for me to replace one of my traded QB's]
10/4/2005 10:11:51 AM
i'd try to get an even better wr out of the deal bc you never know if the ball is going to get to muhammed or not
10/4/2005 10:13:55 AM
what about Houshmandzadeh
10/4/2005 11:47:45 AM
Often overshadowed by Chad Johnson but he is a good number 2 guy on that team, but I usually steer clear of having too many pieces of the same offense on my team(Palmer and Housh). But he'd potentially be a better pick than Moose simply because Kyle Orton cannot seem to get the passing game going.
10/4/2005 11:50:45 AM
someone's going to accept two QB's?
10/4/2005 11:51:14 AM
yes the person i want to trade with needs one more QB and wants to drop McCown
10/4/2005 11:53:49 AM
What defense should I start this weekend?New York Jets (vs. TB) orChicago (@ Cle)
10/4/2005 12:05:06 PM
Chicago^the available receivers in my league areGalloway (TB)Stallworth (NO)Engram (SEA)Mason (BAL)T. Taylor (MINB. Lloyd (SF)should i just keep culpepper and drop bledsoe for Manning and then just choose from the available receivers (cus Culpepper still has more fantasy points than any of my QB's but Palmer)my receivers are:WR T. Glenn (Dal - WR) WR L. Fitzgerald (Ari - WR) WR S. Moss (Was - WR) WR Ro. Smith (Den - WR) P W/T Ro. Williams (Det - WR) W/T D. Driver(GB - WR) P W/T J. Shockey (NYG - TE) TE A. Gates (SD - TE) TE J. 10/4/2005 1:46:08 PM
keep Roy, drop Driver, pick up Galloway
10/4/2005 2:01:20 PM
no i just dropped Battle for Driver. Driver is a good receiver. Why drop Driver??
10/4/2005 2:02:43 PM
didnt say he was bad, but compared to those others, he isnt as good
10/4/2005 2:06:36 PM
Driver has a better QB than R. Williams tho
10/4/2005 3:40:34 PM
Don't drop Driver for Galloway. Driver will get more looks than Galloway and as of late GB has had to pass WAY more than TB.
10/4/2005 4:46:38 PM
I would, Galloway has been looking really good... only thing I would be worried about is if Cadillac is hurt
10/4/2005 4:51:14 PM

i would never trade Antonio Gates[Edited on October 4, 2005 at 6:38 PM. Reason : and i already have Thomas Jones]
10/4/2005 6:38:03 PM
I need adviceSteve Smith vs ArizonaorSantana Moss vs Denveralso...Willie Parker vs SDor Mike Anderson vs Washington
10/4/2005 6:40:50 PM
Steve Smith, especially if you get return yard points...as for the RB... tough choice, but probably Parker, Washington D has been pretty good
10/4/2005 6:47:02 PM
i dont know, SD has a pretty good defense also
10/4/2005 6:54:20 PM
SD stops the run very well. This week they stopped Dillon, last week they held Tiki to his lowest yardage this year, and before that they shut down Denver's running game. Maybe I'll bench both of them and start Moss and Smith.[Edited on October 4, 2005 at 7:04 PM. Reason : !]
10/4/2005 7:03:09 PM
indeed
10/4/2005 7:47:56 PM
Dillon has been stopped by just about every one they've faced. You also have to remember that Pitt has had a bye week to prepare for SD and SD is coming off a big week. Pitt has a much more potent passing attack than NE so they have to respect that, so look for Parker to have a decent game. And Galloway has had one good week, Driver has been more consistent and in an offense that is going to require him to get more looks.
10/4/2005 10:03:35 PM
The Chargers don't respect anyone's passing attack. They just let teams pass all over them and play the run all game.
10/4/2005 10:15:47 PM
Then Pitt will destroy them with the PA
10/4/2005 10:25:01 PM
I don't think Pitt can stop LT and Gates. ...nobody can
10/4/2005 10:26:15 PM
Well, then why are the Chargers 2-2?
10/4/2005 10:28:42 PM
Gates was out in week 1, and for some reason they forgot to use LT in the passing game the first 2 weeks. Now that the offense is firing on all cylinders, look for them to lead the AFC in scoring.
10/4/2005 10:40:53 PM
how the freak is galloway still available?pick up that nig
10/4/2005 10:42:17 PM
should i drop Roy Williams for Galloway?
10/5/2005 10:44:58 AM
Roy is seriously your worst WR? I would have to say make the move
10/5/2005 10:49:02 AM
