As a diehard fan who just made a (halfway-serious) vow that he'll only marry a Red Sox fan, this shit is killing me.Damn, I need me a Red Sox hottie. One that will share my belief that THE MOTHERFUCKING YANKEES CAN GO FUCK THEMSELVES.gl Arroyo.
10/14/2004 4:40:58 AM
^well we've got our Yankees hottie in here. GG BEUs Lady for all the Yankee pics.GOOD JOB YANKEES, lets go for 3 straight!!!! [Edited on October 14, 2004 at 8:23 AM. Reason : d]
10/14/2004 8:23:36 AM
ya know last night I felt demoralized more then I had since Game 5 of the 2000 World Series (even more then Game 7 last year). This was the year that I not only thought that the Sox would win the World Series but truly believed they were just plain and simply a BETTER team then the Yankees. When that game ended last night I pretty much thought to myself that it was over. Now this morning, I have a totally different take on it. Red Sox CAN and WILL win 2 of 3 at home (they have the 2nd best home record in all of baseball -- behind guess who?). That would mean Pedro in Yankee Stadium for Game 6. Everyone hear knows that Jon Lieber won't pitch 2 games in a row at that level (yes even you know this TKE-Teg) and Pedro is so far due for a vintage performance. That leaves Sox-Yanks Game 7 in the Stadium. All bets are off when it comes to that as every baseball fan knows. So here it is: Sox in 7/rant over
10/14/2004 11:39:42 AM
what people also don't realize is we still have Lowe available if Schilling is unavailable and he has been the Yankee killer, especially in Fenway
10/14/2004 11:48:07 AM
While I'm doubtful of Lieber, his last performance against Boston was just about as good, so why not 3 times the charm?Yanks in 5.
10/14/2004 11:48:58 AM
^^ he's pitching Game 5 from what WEEI reportedheres the matchups from what I've readBrown v. Arroyo -- edge: slightly to Arroyo b/c of good finish to season; El Duque (who hasn't pitched in quite awhile b/c of the 'dead arm') v. Wakefield -- edge: hard to say really but Wakefield b/c of injuries; Mussina v. Lowe -- edge: Mussina hands downbut I should say that knowing the heart of Schilling I am not fully convinced he doesnt start Game 5[Edited on October 14, 2004 at 12:00 PM. Reason : ifsdaf]

Here's the thing.... The Yankees have guys getting on base... tough outsThe REd Sox have guys like Damon who have looked overmatched
10/14/2004 12:19:40 PM
^ agreedand watching MOST of the Sox games this year I have a hard time believing that will continue (especially in Fenway)...I really think that returning to Fenway will awaken the bats...throughout the year they hit much better at Fenway and I think the day off will also help them regroup

RAIN RAIN GO AWAYdoesnt look good looking at the WBZ radar...the front that went through Raleigh this morning is heading towards Boston right now...lots of rain on the radar so I doubt they play tonightbut if they do I'll be at PlayMakers being loud

To all of Red Sox nation - the 19% chance that Neyer has in his column for the Sox winning the series is wrong. He incorrectly assumes that each team has a 50% chance of winning the game. I won't bore you with details, but the most simple chance to use for each team to win would be based on the record coming into the game.Long of the short, based on the season series record (now at 11-10 Sox), the Sox have a 24.9% chance of winning the series. Not much better - but we need every % we can get!!OK - back to the nerdery for me (I just finished my Decision Analysis midterm and it seemed like a good continuation to run the numbers on this one)
10/15/2004 8:31:32 PM
fuck the numbers....GOOOOO SOX
